What happened on General Hospital

In the Q mansion living room, Dante told Michael he was thinking about trying to pull traffic footage from Harbor View Road to see if Willow was on it. If so, it could be used as evidence that Willow was on the estate on July 4 when Daisy was threatened. When Michael asked if he thought it would be admissible in court, Brook Lynn interrupted to ask who was going to court. Michael told her the visitation hearing was in October.
Brook Lynn said she couldn’t imagine how much the kids missed Willow, and Willow missed them, and questioned why he didn’t just let them see each other. He said Willow wasn’t stable, and it wouldn’t be good for the kids to see her like that.
After Michael left, Brook Lynn said, even though Willow screwed up, her heart broke for her. Dante made the connection between Brook Lynn’s feelings about Willow and her feelings about Gio, not wanting to see her. They agreed that giving Gio space hadn’t seemed to work and just gave his anger more time to fester. Just like he and Lulu have been doing with Rocco, Dante wanted him and Brook Lynn to talk with Gio and work through things together.
Brook Lynn agreed but said Dante needed to be the one to break the wall down between them and Gio. She felt he had a better shot with Gio and didn’t believe Gio would ever forgive her. She blamed Lulu for how Gio saw her since Gio walked up when Lulu accused her of using the file to intentionally hurt Rocco to get back at her.
Brook Lynn maintained that Gio saw her in the worst possible light and didn’t want to be the reason Dante missed building a relationship with his son. Dante kept trying to get Brook Lynn to want to work on the situation together, but Brook Lynn kept telling him it should be just him. Finally, he said they owed it to Gio to be his parents together, and she agreed.
At the hospital, Isaiah and Portia were going over the schedule when Curtis arrived. Isaiah leered at them from the desk as Curtis told Portia he had a surprise for his wife. Portia’s favorite chef, Adrian Sinclair, was in town, and Curtis arranged for a private tasting.
Later, Michael ran into Curtis by the elevators. He was there for routine bloodwork. Curtis told him things were going well with Portia and credited Michael for helping to make that happen, since Michael didn’t let him resign and encouraged him not to let Drew cost him his marriage.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Isaiah ran into Portia. When she was gushing about her and Curtis being committed to working on their marriage, Isaiah asked where Jordan fit into all of it. Later, he apologized for asking. She said she and Curtis were in a better place than they’d been in a long time, and Jordan was not a consideration. Isaiah felt Jordan was still an issue, but he didn’t say anything about seeing them in the park.
Jordan was standing in her new apartment when Anna arrived with a housewarming gift. When Anna asked about furnishings, Jordan said she was going to use an interior designer, Theo Thompson, whom Maxie recommended. Anna couldn’t help but take note of how expensive the apartment and interior designer were and how happy Jordan was to have more money now.
Jordan said she’d spent her whole life working in public service and, now that she was in the private sector, she was making really good money for the first time. Anna felt she deserved it, but questioned how she felt about working for Sidwell. Jordan talked about her original plan to get to know Sidwell, his organization, and get evidence, but said she hadn’t found a whiff of anything illegal.
Anna reminded her that Sidwell tried to have her, Isaiah, and others killed in Africa. Jordan claimed she hadn’t forgotten who Sidwell was, but also felt she needed to upgrade her lifestyle to match her income so it wouldn’t look suspicious. Anna understood, but warned Jordan about getting used to living in a richer lifestyle and how it could compromise her judgment in the future. After Anna left, Curtis came over from the hospital. He was there to help look over the apartment and the inspection report.
Kai and Drew were at the Metro Court restaurant. Kai was talking about getting support for Measure C, but Drew said he had to temporarily redirect his focus to relocating to D.C. Kai didn’t question Drew’s judgement per se but said he could tell how much Scout loved her brothers, grandmother, and aunts, and asked if Drew worried Scout would miss them, especially since she had lost so much already.
Drew said Alexis thought it would be better if Scout lived with her, which he disagreed with. He told Kai he’d already lost so much. Scout was the world to him, and it would be best for them to move to D.C. as soon as possible. He also said he would have to lean on Kai more to be his eyes and ears in Port Charles.
At another table, Laura was meeting with Ezra Boyle, who had just formed a voting block to stop a resolution to expand the public library. Believing he’d be mayor after the upcoming election, he planned to wait to sign the resolution so he could take the credit for it.
At a table in the corner, ADA Turner and Molly were having a business lunch. Turner was on a call with her office, which informed her that she received an anonymous gift of restorative bath products. She knew it had to be from Sonny, and told Molly about going to the ER with him after spraining her ankle. As she vowed to make sure Sonny understood they were not friends, he walked into the restaurant.
After Boyle left to meet with Drew, Sonny met with Laura at the bar. She asked him about Marco Rios. He didn’t admit to kidnapping Marco, but said he was trying to navigate thwarting Turner, Sidwell, and Drew’s efforts to make him look bad and make Laura look worse.
Laura felt strongly that Port Charles was better off with Sonny in power than Jenz Sidwell. Anna interrupted their chat when she arrived to meet with Laura, and Sonny walked over to talk with ADA Turner. Turner reminded him that, as a public official, she could not and would not accept gifts. She said if he did send her the gift, she would have to prosecute him for harassment and would win.
Boyle met with Drew after Kai left. He said his polling numbers were now within 5 points of Laura’s. When Drew remarked that it was one step closer to getting rid of Sonny, Boyle asked why it was so personal to him. Drew said Jason and Sonny were dangerous and destructive, and neither of them had ever been held to any account the way they deserved to be. Boyle looked slightly taken aback by Drew’s intensity when he vowed it would end with him.
Boyle left the table when he got a phone call, and Molly came up to speak with him. She felt it was important for Scout to have family around and calmly asked Drew how they could make that happen. Drew said the best thing for Scout right now was to have a good relationship with her father, and Alexis was trying to undermine that. He said the very best thing was going to be to move Scout to D.C,. where she would have no contact with her mother or her aunts.
Laura talked with Anna about Liesl, but really didn’t share any details about the meeting they’d had. Anna felt Liesl had made improvements over the years, but was still not to be trusted. She didn’t feel Liesl would do anything to hurt Rocco and thought it better to be her friend than enemy. Boyle interrupted, telling Laura her resolution for the library just got enough votes to pass, and accused her of having Sonny bribe councilmen to get the vote to go her way. Laura and Anna laughed at the thought and mocked Boyle, but he threatened that he would be mayor soon, and firing Anna as commissioner would be his first order of business.
Trina met with Aunt Stella at the Metro Court pool. Stella broke her promise not to meddle and sat to talk with Trina about why she and Kai broke up. Without getting too specific, Trina explained what Kai did and said she couldn’t get past the fact that he broke his word and hurt her family. She respected Kai's honesty, but questioned why he would show loyalty to Drew and not her.
Stella felt Kai failed when he misplaced his loyalty in Drew and tried to balance his principles and personal integrity with his feelings for Trina. She also felt Trina could be a lot like Curtis, who she said could be too rigid and reminded her that feelings and love were not black and white. Trina believed Kai when he said he loved her, but didn’t feel it mattered. Stella thought it did and said it would be a shame to let go of something good.
Kai walked up, and Trina walked off. He sat for a moment to talk with Stella, who told him he could still win Trina’s heart back, but he was going to have to try a lot harder than he was. Afterward, he brought iced tea to where Trina was sitting and asked if she would join him. She got up, saying she was just getting ready to leave, but thanked him for offering.
Sonny brought Donna to her swim lesson. She was excited to see Gio and reminded him that he had promised to play the violin at her birthday party, which was coming up in September. He had to explain that his violin was broken, but assured her he would never miss her party.
After Donna went to her lesson, Sonny and Gio talked about his feelings toward Dante and Brook Lynn. Sonny reinforced Gio’s right to his feelings and talked about when Dante had to adjust to finding out he was his father. He felt Gio would eventually have a relationship with them, but Gio was doubtful. Sonny said if Gio ever changed his mind, Dante and Brook Lynn would be there for him because they were amazing people.
After the hospital, Michael went to the pool. He and Gio talked about Donna’s upcoming birthday party. Gio felt it would be awkward to be there with Brook Lynn and Dante, but Michael told him it didn’t have to be. Michael shared how he’d written Sonny off more than once, but figured out a way to forgive him. When he said family was everything, Gio asked, if he felt that way, why didn’t he let Willow see the kids? Michael said the situation was very different and, hopefully, temporary.
Gio said he was fine, but Michael asked if he wanted to feel that kind of “fine” forever. If not, he told Gio he would have to move forward; otherwise, all of the anger and pain would calcify and cripple him. Gio thanked him for the advice and said he was good. Michael said he wasn’t and wouldn’t be until he changed it.
Chase was running in the park when he saw Willow sitting on a bench and sat down to talk. Willow let him know she couldn’t be at work because she slapped Lucas the day before. When Chase asked if Lucas did something to provoke her, she said he was the first person who had given her the benefit of the doubt in a long time.
Chase made excuses for Willow’s actions and said she was a good mom who really loved her kids. He said Lucas had no right to make that kind of judgment. They moved on to talk about him and Brook Lynn. He said they still planned on adopting a baby, but had stopped looking. He explained Brook Lynn’s reasons for putting everything on hold and expressed doubt that it was ever going to happen.
