Here’s your General Hospital recap on what happened in Port Charles today, Monday, August 18, 2025.
What happened on General Hospital

Portia and Curtis woke up happy to be in bed together again. They vowed not to look back and move forward together. As they were reaffirming their commitment to working on their marriage, Jordan called. She actually called Portia because Curtis’ phone was off. Afterward, they both left for the hospital immediately.
A bit earlier, at the hospital, two agents from the New York State Fraud Division wanted to question Stella. They said there had been some discrepancies in patient referrals and authorizations. Feeling she had nothing to hide, Stella went into one of the conference rooms to speak with them. Jordan called Curtis to let him know about the state insurance fraud investigators.
Curtis and Portia arrived. Portia went to see what she could find out. Curtis planned to go into the conference room, but Isaiah stopped him. Martin (who had been called by Felicia) arrived. After walking into the conference room, Martin introduced himself as Stella’s counsel, but they told him that it would not be possible. He was stunned to find out he specifically could not be her lawyer because he was a person of interest in their investigation, and they had questions for him as well.
Later, Portia, Curtis, Jordan, Felicia, and Isaiah were still waiting outside the room when Stella and Martin came out. Stella said they were reviewing all of the claims she submitted since January, which she claimed to be fine with because the patients deserved every bit of the compensation she got for them. As clues were starting to add up in Martin’s head, he asked if Stella had ever been under that type of scrutiny before, which, of course, she hadn’t.
When the two investigators walked out, Portia introduced herself. Having already talked to the hospital’s legal team, she knew they were not informed about the investigation and questioned what legal right the State Insurance Fraud Department had to be there. The investigators told her it was coming from higher up and she would have to talk to their supervisor.
Drew arrived at Sonny's house to blackmail him. Unbeknownst to him, ADA Turner was hiding off to the side and could hear everything. Drew said if Sonny didn’t agree to his terms, his “little golden boy, Michael,” would be going straight to prison. He brought up Michael’s “criminal past”, including “bludgeoning a woman to death at the age of 17.” Saying that assaulting a congressman was a serious charge, he felt Michael’s violent past would make a conviction all the more likely.
In exchange for not pressing charges, Drew told Sonny he wanted him to get Michael to petition the court for immediate and generous visitation for Willow. He also wanted Sonny to sell his piers to Sidwell and then take an extended vacation anywhere but Port Charles. Sonny said Michael wasn’t going to allow Willow to see the kids because he put their well-being over his. Drew claimed it would do well for Michael to compromise with 50% custody instead of going to prison and getting no custody.
Sonny pointed out that, even if Drew got everything he wanted from him and Michael, he still wouldn’t be Willow’s hero because Willow knew what a loser he was. “Your desperation is showing, Drew”, he said, “Guess what? You’re never going to get Willow back.” As he was leaving, Drew told Sonny he could save Michael, and whatever happened next was on him.
After he left, Turner said what Drew did fit the legal definition of extortion and was shocked to find out what the congressman was capable of. Sonny told her she just got the chance to see the real Drew Cain. It was clear she planned to report Drew, but Sonny warned that it would get out that she had dinner with him, which would kill her career. She saw his point and, in turn, warned him not to retaliate.
Imploring him not to take the law into his own hands, she showed sympathy for the position he was being put in. “Is this what it’s like for you? All those op-eds about you being a menace to society and you’re the one being menaced by a congressman”, she asked. Sonny opined that life was not black and white like she wanted it to be sometimes.
Even though she would not be able to charge Drew with extortion for now, she vowed she would keep watching him and promised, “Congressman Cain will be brought to justice”. Indicating their growing familiarity with each other, she said, “Thanks for the pizza, Sonny,” as she was leaving, and he responded, “Thanks, Justine”.
At Wyndermere, Lucy was having a drink with Sidwell out on the turret. She wanted to stay, but had to leave to get to the Home and Heart studio. Sidwell said he planned to watch the segment on TV and seemed particularly interested that Maxie would be there. As Lucy was about to leave, Sidwell surprised her with a kiss “for luck” when Marco walked in.
They continued to talk about Lucy for a bit after she left. Soon, Drew came barging in to share his news about Michael and blackmailing Sonny. He was beaming as he described goading Michael into punching him and using it to either blackmail Sonny or get Michael thrown into prison. Already having their own plans to blackmail Sonny, Sidwell and Marco did not support Drew’s tactics.
Sidwell said annihilating Michael might be counterproductive because it would remove any incentive Sonny had to cooperate, and he would surely retaliate. Drew said they may have to find another way to get rid of Sonny, but was fixated on Willow. He said everyone blamed him for Willow losing her children, but he was going to be the guy to give them back to her.
After he left, Marco pointed out that Drew’s interests diverged from their own and that he may not be of use to them much longer. Sidwell then remarked that Drew could be a bit of a loose Cannon and may become a liability.
Brook Lynn arrived at Home and Heart. She and Flora talked about Lois. Flora supported Brook Lynn’s feelings but wanted to let her know how much Lois was suffering by being estranged from her. They both seemed to hold Grandma Gloria the most responsible for creating the lie and demanding Lois maintain it throughout the years, but Brook Lynn still couldn’t get past her mom never saying anything. She felt if Lois had said something, the pain all of them were going through could have been prevented, and she would have a relationship with her son.
Flora reasoned that Brook Lynn could only assume how things would have gone if Lois had said something sooner. She felt Brook Lynn needed to figure out if there was a shred of trust left with Lois, which could be repaired, and if there was enough love left to help rebuild it.
Martin arrived to meet at Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) request. She told him she may need to go against the explicit wishes of her partners and asked him if they could legally kick her out of Deception if she did. He said there were Whistleblower laws that could legally protect her, but warned that her relationships with Brook Lynn, Lucy, and Tracy might not survive.
Maxie said she couldn’t have anything hanging over Deception, wanted to exonerate the company if possible, and asked Martin to schedule a meeting with the acting DA (Turner). Lucy and Brook Lynn walked up as Martin was leaving and questioned why Maxie was talking to him. They were interrupted by the makeup artist, who needed to touch up Lucy for the segment.
As the segment was beginning, one of the assistants handed Maxie the jar of Youth Truth cream she was supposed to use on camera, commenting that the logo would really pop. As Lucy usually did, she began to talk about herself too much while promoting the product. Maxie finally interjected to refocus on the product. After she introduced their new Youth Truth Night Mask, she put some of it on her face as a demonstration. Within seconds, she passed out and collapsed to the floor. (All clues are pointing toward Sidwell putting something in the sample jar.)
At the Five Poppies Resort, Jason was checking in with Pascal when he and Britt spotted each other. After staring in disbelief for a few moments, she approached Pascal and said he needed to go with her now. She could barely look directly at Jason who offered to leave so she and Pascal could talk. After Jason walked away, Britt said the AC in the lab was out again, and she would be in her room waiting for it to get fixed.
After she walked off, Pascal checked Jason in and led him to the bar. Later, Britt was lying on the bed in her room, shocked and staring at the wall. She sat up when Jason opened her door. He stood in the doorway as the two stared at each other.
Meanwhile, Vaughn was being strangled in his room when Josslyn came in. She grabbed the gun from the floor and, somehow, managed to shoot the bad guy and not Vaughn. For a moment, she flashed back on shooting Cyrus. As the guy was convulsing and choking on his own blood on the floor, Joss asked Vaughn what they should do. She was stunned when he grabbed a pillow and suffocated the guy.
Vaughn said their cover had obviously been blown, and they needed to leave immediately. Joss, on the other hand, felt they should try to talk to Britt to see who Dalton was working for. After looking at the dead guy on the floor, she said their mission needed to count for something. Vaughn reluctantly agreed and said they could possibly buy themselves 24 hours. First, however, they had to get rid of the body, which meant throwing it off the cliff.
After getting rid of the body, they returned to the room. Joss was focused on what to do next, but after noticing blood on her hand, was still noticeably disturbed by everything. Later, she sat traumatized, fully clothed, and curled up in the shower. While letting the water run over her, she flashed back on shooting Cyrus and the guy in the room as well as watching Vaughn suffocate him. Vaughn came in to check on her. After seeing her in shock, he sat with her and held her on the shower room floor.
