At his WSB office, Brennan was reviewing an interpol file on Dalton as well as a file on Greta. After he got off the phone with Anna, Colette walked in and told him he needed to call the mission off. He reminded her that she did not call the shots and did not know the parameters of the mission.

Colette asked to be filled in, but he said all she needed to know was everything was under control. When he said he had to leave, she made a snarky remark about going off to be with one of his agent’s mothers. He cautioned her about remembering that his personal life was off limits, and if he had to tell her again, it would be the last thing she heard.

After Brennan left, Colette went back into his office. After she couldn’t get into the locked box behind his desk, she called Pascal to ask him to persuade his “guests” to give him the most recent combination. In turn, he wanted confirmation that a “loose end” had been tied off.

At the Five Poppies Resort, Pascal held Josslyn captive in an empty room and revealed he knew she and Vaughn were WSB agents. Pascal wanted to know what intel they shared with Brennan and what other intel Brennan already had. Offering nothing to Pascal, he told Joss she was disposable.

Joss said she’d consider giving him the information he wanted if she could see with her own eyes that Vaughn was okay. Pascal said she was in no position to negotiate and threatened that there were many ways he could get her to talk. After taking the call from Colette in the hallway, he had Vaughn brought into the same room with Josslyn.

Pascal asked Vaughn for information, who told him to go to hell. In response, one of the bodyguards began to punch Vaughn in the abdomen repeatedly. When Pascal asked him for info again, Vaughn spat in his face. Then, another bodyguard entered with some implement of torture. Before he could use it, Joss said she would give any information she could in exchange for them not hurting Vaughn.

Joss told Pascal about the box behind Brennan’s desk, which he said he already knew about, but needed the combination. Vaughn appeared angry as Joss blurted out the combination, 101877. When they were left in the room by themselves, Vaughn asked Joss what the hell she was thinking and if she understood that she just made them traitors.

Pascal, who had a hidden camera in the room, watched on his phone as Vaughn was seemingly scolding Joss, and they were at odds with one another. Finally, Vaughn told Joss Pascal had won, “game, set, match”. A look of resolved calm came over Joss as she repeated the words, “game, set, match”.

A slightly soused Anna called Brennan from the Brown Dog Pub. She wanted an update on Josslyn and told Brennan he never cared about anyone but himself. After leaving his office, Brennan found Anna, more than slightly soused now, at the bar. He tried to get her to leave, but she refused. Instead, they sat at a table to talk.

Anna told him about her goddaughter (Maxie) being in a coma. She lamented feeling helpless about Maxie and Josslyn. In regard to Josslyn, she again warned that he would lose Carly if something happened to her. She knew Carly thought he was a wonderful, loving man, but said he was really “a soulless bastard”.

In a weak defense of himself, Brennan said he didn’t force Josslyn into joining the WSB but only presented the option. He said Agent Jacks went into the WSB with open eyes, but Anna knew better. She said Joss had no idea she could be losing her innocence, freedom, and maybe her family. Anna felt the WSB could ruin Josslyn’s life like it ruined hers.

Brennan said not every agent regretted joining the WSB the way Anna did, and told her to stop feeling sorry for herself. He reminded her she had choices and it wasn’t the Bureau’s fault she made the wrong ones. The worst choice she made, the one that did ruin her life, he said, was all on her.

Anna knew he was referring to her decision to work with Faison, whom she admitted played her like a puppet. Brennan said Faison used Anna’s ambition against her and turned her into a double agent, which is what ruined her life, not the WSB. She claimed it was fair to say both were equally destructive, but understood his point. She owned up to her bad decisions and worried that Josslyn would be in the same position. In spite of everything Brennan said, Anna remained steadfast about him needing to end the mission and do whatever it took to save Carly’s daughter.

Ava had just clobbered Ric in the head in front of Kristina at Alexis’ house. As they stood in shock, not knowing what to do, Alexis walked in. Looking down at Ric, she asked if he was dead. Kristina checked and thought she felt a pulse, but Ava stopped Alexis before she could call an ambulance. Kristina lifted Ric’s eyelid to see if his pupil responded to light, and it did.

Ava avoided telling Alexis what happened, so Kristina started by describing the confrontation she had with Ric before Ava arrived. Then, Ava, who was still angry, explained how Ric cleared out their shared bank accounts and, before she knew it, hit him on the back of the head. Alexis went to call the police, but Ava said she couldn’t.

Ava threatened, “If I go down, she [Kristina] goes down.” Claiming it was about self-preservation, Ava reminded them she had two smoking guns in her possession: Ric’s car and the security footage from the garage. Kristina said they all had “blood” on their hands, so they were stuck together.

Ava and Kristina bickered, with Ava blaming her for the whole thing. Alexis said they needed to refocus because her “ex-husband is on the floor unconscious because you [Ava] whacked him over the head with my favorite paperweight.”

Ava took the paperweight, saying she didn’t want to leave it with them, whom she called “scheming snakes”. Kristina moved Ric to their bat-infested shed that apparently no one ever went into. They all agreed not to mention Ric was ever there. Ric woke up duct-taped to a bed in the dark shed with a studded ball gag in his mouth.

At the Port Charles Grill, Sidwell was having dinner with Lucy, who was distracted thinking about Maxie. Sidwell pretended to be sympathetic to Lucy’s worry. He said the best thing she could do for Maxie was to keep Deception thriving, but Lucy said that was easier said than done because people on social media were saying their product was deadly since Maxie collapsed after trying it.

Sidwell offered to help come up with a solution to repairing the damage to Deception’s reputation. Lucy appreciated feeling like Sidwell was in her corner. She was caught off guard when he asked her to come spend the night at Wyndermere. He said he didn’t mean to be forward, but felt she could use the company, and there were plenty of comfortable guest rooms she could stay in. She thanked him but politely declined to go over for a “sleepover”, saying she needed to check on Mac and Felicia. He said the invitation would be open-ended.

Michael met Molly, who had called him upset about Drew serving the restraining orders to prevent them from seeing Scout. She was also afraid Alexis had made a big mistake by causing a scene with Drew. Molly wondered how Drew had changed so much, and Michael said he’d caused so much trouble for people that he needed to be stopped.

Molly said she’d been racking her brain for a way to fight Drew in court, but couldn’t think of any solid legal recourse for the situation. Michael encouraged her to give herself some time to come up with a solution. They moved on to talk about Molly walking in on Cody and Ava kissing. Michael apologized for giving bad advice to give Cody a chance.

Molly went on to explain how Cody claimed Kristina paid him to seduce Ava. Michael did not admit to knowing about Kristina’s plan already, but said he felt she was trying to help in her own way. When she asked if he thought she should forgive Kristina, he said maybe she should hear her out. He also said, even though it was in a backwards way, he thought Cody was also trying to do her a favor. Regardless, Molly felt her dad needed to know about everything.

At Wyndemere, Colette was waiting for Sidwell when he arrived. She said Pascal wanted confirmation that he had taken care of the problem. Sidwell said he didn’t answer to Pascal any more than he answered to her. She said Pascal was inquiring on behalf of Sidwell's associate. Sidwell instructed her to inform them both that he would soon acquire a controlling interest in Deception, and then they would be able to utilize the company as previously discussed. He also asked her to thank “him” for the compound, which worked perfectly because “Maxie Jones and her big mouth” were no longer a threat.

At the Quartermaine stables, Cody was a bit surprised to be greeted by Dante, who was waiting for him with a six-pack of beer. Dante said he’d avoided Cody long enough and, with what happened to Maxie, knew he could use a beer and a friend. They sat and talked about how to handle everything, primarily how Cody could best support James. Cody worried James would eventually learn that all he did was let people down.

When Dante said he was being too hard on himself, Cody told him about being caught by Molly kissing Ava for money. He went on to explain how Kristina paid him to seduce Ava, which kinda amused Dante. Cody sincerely thought he was helping Molly and felt it would have been a win-win type of situation if it hadn’t turned into such a disaster.

He was surprised by how much he hurt Molly, and knew he couldn’t blame Kristina if she decided not to pay him the rest of his fee. They jokingly toasted to his consistent inability to keep money for very long anyway. He admitted to really liking Molly and feeling bad for hurting her.
