What happened on General Hospital

At his WSB office, Brennan gave Joss her new identity…Kelsey Ann McDonald, newly married to Christopher Nash (Vaughn). Brennan was shown putting a locked case of top-secret files in an unlocked cabinet. He reminded her that they are not to “take down” anyone, but to create a comprehensive report of the resort grounds, security setup, and staff movements.
As Joss was about to leave, Brennan got a call from Carly, who asked if he wanted to meet her at the Metro Court for a drink. He told Joss to meet with her mom first to give her the cover story about leaving for Australia.
At Dock 55, Liesl walked up as Anna (nicknamed “Scarecrow” by her) was standing there. When Liesl referred to Rocco as “Britta’s son”, Anna reminded her that he was Dante and Lulu’s son. “Genetically perhaps”, Liesl responded, “but that young man is the last living connection I have to my precious Britta.”
Anna offered her sympathy for the continued grief Liesl felt for the loss of Britt. Surprising Anna, Liesl said she didn’t deserve her sympathy because of what she must have put her through when she and Cesar Faison took Robin, an act she felt she couldn't live down. Anna said, “Empathy can be merciless when you don’t expect it.”
Liesl went on to reflect on the night Britt was killed and wanted to retrace her last steps before she was attacked on that dock. She said, “The ghosts and I have been looking out on the water and remembering Britta’s final act of heroism.” They talked about Jason thinking he saw Britt, but Liesl still thought it was his imagination. Nonetheless, she was comforted by someone else thinking of her daughter, and was comforted when Anna said Jason really cared about her.
Liesl lamented not having been a better mother and recalled being so consumed with Faison. Anna reminded her that they had a good relationship toward the end. As Liesl said she had many regrets, she took Anna aback by saying they shared similar regrets. Like she had neglected Britta because of her love of Faison, she said Anna had neglected Robin because of her love for the WSB. Anna admitted she wasn’t entirely wrong and admitted the older she got, the less she could justify some of the things she did as an agent.
Liesl opined that the “WSB lures an idealistic young people with the promise of saving the world. But it’s just like any other business - all about money and power. Eventually, you can’t tell the difference between the altruists like you and the opportunists…” “Like you”, Anna interrupted, feeling her assessment of the WSB was a bit of an oversimplification. Liesl said it still bore the ring of truth.
When Liesl asked Anna what she would tell her younger self about joining the WSB, Anna said she would tell herself to choose another job because that one was going to cost her more than she could bear to lose. Turning the same question back on her, Anna asked what Liesl would say to her younger self. “I would tell her not to fall in love with megalomaniacal Danish terrorists”, she quipped. After Liesl left, Anna called Carly to talk about Josslyn and planned to meet her at the Metro Court. Before she could leave, someone put a cover over her head and kidnapped her.
Brook Lynn and Chase were having dinner at the Metro Court. Chase wanted to get the ball rolling again for adopting a child, but Brook Lynn looked worried. She didn’t think she was ready to adopt and felt she needed to focus on repairing her relationship with Gio first. She didn’t want Gio to think she was replacing him.
Chase felt he could get Gio to understand they weren’t trying to replace him. Showing his impatience with her reluctance, he asked how long she wanted to put their adoption plans on hold. He was doubting whether she still wanted to start a family at all. Promising she hadn’t changed her mind about wanting to have a family with him eventually, she wanted their child to have two loving parents and, hopefully, an adoring big brother. Chase was not quite convincing when he said he was okay with waiting for a better time and left the table to take a call.
At another table, Ric was having dinner with Molly. He admitted he and Ava were kinda going through a rough patch, but didn't want to talk about it. She told him she was getting back into writing and came up with her latest story idea after an unexpected horseback ride.
When Ric asked what her new book was going to be about, Molly flashed back to her times with Cody at the pool. She said she wasn’t going to write a romance because her heroine realized she didn’t need a man to be happy. They briefly chatted about Ava, and as Molly was saying he could do so much better than Ava, Elizabeth walked up to say hi.
When Elizabeth said she needed a second to ask Ric a question, Molly told them to take all the time they wanted because she was going to check her voicemail. Elizabeth thanked Ric for helping Willow pro bono, but went on to let him know Willow went to see Michael, and it did not go well. Ric advised that Willow needed to be acting warm, generous, and kind…just like Elizabeth. When Molly returned, she and Ric talked Elizabeth into staying and having dinner with them.
Joss arrived to tell Carly her cover story for leaving. Carly thought it was kind of Josslyn to go help Mrs. Walker, Lady Jane’s old friend, but definitely felt something more was going on. Joss shifted to say she was leaving because she needed to get some distance from Vaughn to figure out what she really wanted after the difficult year she’d had. Carly commended her maturity for taking a step back to reevaluate her choices and supported her decision.
Keeping up the ruse when he walked up, Brennan asked Joss where she was going. The look of irritation on Josslyn’s face indicated she is still not happy about her secret boss dating her mom. They were continuing to talk about Joss after she left when Anna called Carly and said she needed to talk to her about Josslyn. Carly told her to meet at the Metro Court, which concerned Brennan. He briefly left to make a cal,l where he likely ordered Anna to be kidnapped.
When Gio finished his shift at the Metro Court pool, Emma told him she didn’t want him to be the one to break into Dalton’s office after all. She was worried he could get caught and end up being arrested, but he argued it would be worse for her if she got arrested for a second time.
He felt, overall, he had less to lose and didn’t want her to risk hurting her family relationships. After reasoning he didn’t have that risk because he wasn’t close to his anymore, he admitted that he missed all of them. Even though he wasn’t ready to speak to his family, he said being apart from them hurt like hell.
Emma conceded Gio’s point and agreed to have him break into Dalton’s office. Josslyn walked up and asked if she could talk to Emma real quick. She told her that something unexpected had come up, she was leaving for Australia for the next few weeks, and she had already emailed Professor Dalton to resign. Emma smugly told her she was never going to stick it out because the job never meant anything to her.
Joss said she knew it meant a lot to Emma and was sure Dalton would offer her the position, but told her she shouldn’t take it. When Emma chastised her, Joss told her Dalton made moves on her several times, and she knew he would do the same to Emma. Saying he was a total sleaze, she cautioned Emma to stay away from him.
Chase went from the restaurant to the pool on his phone call and offered to go into the station to work even though they didn’t need him. He ran into Gio and asked how he was doing. Gio said he was great and walked off.
Cody had texted Kristina to meet him, but was surprised when she showed up to his hospital examination room, where he was getting his back mole checked out. Just like Tracy, Kristina thought it looked like a freckle, but Cody was getting increasingly freaked out about it.
Elizabeth came in to let him know the dermatologist was on the way, and Kristina hoped her seeing the two of them together didn’t come back to bite them.
Later, Kristina was waiting outside the room when Cody came out to let her know he had what was known in medical circles as an ephelis…a freckle! He said it was all Molly’s fault because she made him think he was dying. Frustrated, he didn’t feel he should bother seducing Ava away from Ric for Molly’s sake if they weren’t even going to be friends anymore. He quickly changed his mind when Kristina offered him an extra $10,000.
Kristina knew Ava was at her mom’s office, so she told Cody he needed to get over there quickly. She instructed him to do his charm thing to get Ava, who “never met a martini she didn’t want to swim in”, out for a drink. Before leaving, he asked if she knew why Molly was mad at him. Kristina evaded the truth and said Molly had just been sensitive and moody since breaking up with TJ.
At the law offices of Miller & Davis, Alexis met with Ava, who said she was going to do her a huge favor by uncomplicating their arrangement. It was clear that Ava’s frustration with Ric was growing. She claimed Ric didn’t see things with a clear head, refused to see the risks to everyone, and would eventually lead everything to blow up in their faces unless they did something. She proposed that Alexis give her one final payment of $1.5 million.
Ava said Alexis could transfer it to an account only she had access to and, once that was done, there would be no more blackmail, no more embezzlement, and no more Ric. When Alexis asked what guarantee she had that Ava would not continue with the blackmail, Ava took out the key to the storage space where she was keeping Ric’s car and said it would be Alexis’ once the last payment hit her account. She said Alexis could get rid of the car, and she could get rid of the security footage from her garage.
Alexis warned Ric could still cause problems as he was a “pretty vindictive” person whose imagination Ava should not underestimate. Ava remained undeterred, and Alexis finally agreed to the deal. Cody showed up right before Ava left.
At the Five Poppies Resort, Pascal followed Britt back to her room, yelling at her for storming into his office. Pascal had been told by “him” to keep Britt happy, but was frustrated by having his limits pushed.
Britt let him know in no uncertain terms that she was not happy and was irritated that she had not been able to get in contact with their “mutual friend”. She told Pascal he needed to tell their boss that Greta needed to go back to Port Charles for another exchange because the data was incomplete, and she couldn’t do anything more with what she had.
After Pascal left, Britt was on her computer. When she was scrolling through “My Face”, she came across Liesl’s post with Rocco at the pool. She said, “Oh, Ben, look how big you are.”
Then, from a folder on her desktop, she clicked on a photo of her holding “Ben” as a baby. When she finally got a call from the “big boss, himself”, she let him know they have a huge problem. She said until more data got there, she needed more freedom and didn’t want to be cooped up. After she hung up, she prepared to take her nightly shot.
