What happened on General Hospital

At the Metro Court pool, Chase approached Michael as he was getting out of the pool. He told Michael that the PCPD lost their softball game to Corinthos Coffee before segueing to talk about Willow. Michael tried to stop him immediately, but Chase pushed on.
He said Willow understood it was a mistake to be with Drew and was sorry for everything she had done. Chase felt that, given her difficult past, she deserved more understanding and, ultimately, her mistakes shouldn’t cost her her kids. Michael said the court took the kids away from Willow because she wasn’t looking out for their best interests. He felt Willow only cared about Drew and, if he was happy, she thought all was right in the world.
Chase conceded she may have been misguided, but insisted she wasn’t trying to hurt the kids. Michael claimed she did hurt them, though, by putting them in an unstable environment and ignoring their emotional needs. Continuing to defend Willow, Chase said a lot of what she did was under Drew’s influence, who was no longer a factor, but Michael said she exhibited her own bad behavior.
Michael didn’t share his suspicions about Willow targeting Daisy, but said Willow had her own issues she needed to take care of and shouldn’t be around the kids until she did. Michael reminded Chase that he didn’t have all of the facts, which was exactly why he didn’t want to have the conversation in the first place.
Regardless, Chase continued to push and asked Michael to show Willow a little compassion. Michael said compassion was a luxury he couldn’t afford where Willow was concerned. Speaking more accusatively and judgmentally, Chase maintained that Michael wasn’t actually putting his kids first and was punishing Willow whether he believed that or not.
Sonny helped ADA Turner limp into the hospital. She’d twisted her ankle trying to steal third base in the game, and Sonny tagged her out. When Willow came up to start the intake process for Turner, Sonny respectfully asked if she could assign a different nurse to help them.
Willow left to ask Isaiah to assign another nurse. When Isaiah asked if Sonny was rude to her, she remarked that, ironically, Sonny had treated her more decently than anyone else in the family. Sonny gave Turner an overview of Willow and Michael’s situation. Eventually, he commented that he was surprised Judge Heran awarded full custody to Michael, which piqued Turner’s interest. She asked if Sonny thought the judge made a mistake.
Sonny said he thought Michael deserved custody but figured the judge would have granted Willow visitation right away. Turner was taken aback by Sonny’s sensitivity to the complexity of the situation and his empathy for Willow. They had moved back to their semi-flirtatious banter when another nurse came to take her to the exam room.
Willow and Isaiah were talking after finishing giving a kid stitches. When mentioning all of the people who warned her about Drew, she accidentally shared that Portia was being blackmailed. Willow asked Isaiah not to say anything. When they continued to talk, it came out that she used to be married to Chase but cheated on him with Michael, but she sang Chase’s praises. After Turner was done, Sonny came up with a wheelchair and offered her a ride home.
Lucy, Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and Brook Lynn were waiting for Tracy in the living room at the Quartermaine mansion. They were distressed about going to the police to report Sonny’s laundered money investment when Tracy walked in and told them there would be a change in plans. Echoing the advice Sidwell and Marco gave her, she told them that, in order to protect Deception, they would have to keep quiet about everything.
They were confused by Tracy’s change of heart, but she explained the different ways they could inadvertently get the company in trouble by reporting Sonny. She said, “The police know nothing about Sonny’s dirty money. Natalia, may she rest, is gone, and Sonny is fully divested from Deception. So, it’s the right move and it’s what we’re going to do.”
After Lucy clarified what Tracy wanted them to do, both she and Brook Lynn agreed. Maxie, however, thought going to the police was smart, strategic, and the right thing to do. Tracy applauded her principles but asked her if they were worth losing everything and her freedom. Maxie maintained her stance, but she was outvoted 3-1.
Lulu met Carly at the Metro Court restaurant. Lulu was frazzled about the softball game because Liesl was in the stands loudly cheering for Rocco. She let Carly know she didn’t say anything, but asked for help to drive Liesl back out of town.
Carly said she couldn’t because not only did Liesl give her bone marrow to save Willow, she was also her grandchildren’s great aunt. But Lulu thought Carly didn’t want to get her hands dirty because of Jason. Carly agreed she didn’t want to have conflict with Jason, but said she didn’t want to have conflict with Lulu either. Lulu was worried about Rocco’s emotional well-being, so Carly told her she would help if she could convince her that Liesl was actually a threat to Rocco.
Lulu felt Liesl continued to be a threat because of the filtered version of events and of Britt she was giving Rocco. She lamented the precious time she lost with Rocco not just as an infant, but in the months before he was born, saying, “We didn’t get to experience that moment where you find out you’re pregnant. We didn’t get to plan and dream. Wonder if we were having a boy or a girl. Those moments were robbed from us”.
Carly felt for Lulu and reaffirmed that what Britt did was horrific and shouldn’t be forgotten or spun into something it wasn’t. Conversely, she also went on to say Britt did evolve from the person who stole Lulu’s embryo, and Jason was a huge part of that. She understood Lulu wasn’t around to see Britt change, but asked if she could acknowledge that Britt, like everyone else, had layers that were both good and bad.
Lulu felt that the harm was that Rocco was starting to see Britt as his mother, too. “Britt carried him for nine months. She gave birth to him. Took care of him. For all I know, she nursed him. Britt stole that connection from me. And, I am terrified, Carly…I am terrified that she could steal so much more.” She felt her Rocco slipping away and didn’t want to lose him again. Carly understood her Spencer instinct to fight tooth and nail, but pointed out, in this instance, she would be fighting her son, so she needed to be careful not to push him away for good.
Carly warned Lulu to loosen her grip because if she didn’t stop going on the attack, she’d make a martyr out of Britt and Liesl. She advised to let the facts speak for themselves, and, eventually, Rocco would see she was right about all of it. In the end, Carly offered to help her get rid of Liesl if Lulu thought she was really becoming a problem, but told her she needed to think long and hard before she pulled that trigger because she could make things worse than they are now.
Jason, Danny, and Rocco were at the park talking about the softball game they just won. Liesl walked up with a big “We’re #1” foam finger. She told Rocco she didn’t want to miss the opportunity to see him play and enthusiastically asked if she could take them out to celebrate their victory with ice cream. Jason told them they weren’t going anywhere until the equipment was packed up, which gave him a moment alone to speak with Liesl.
She figured Jason wanted her to stay away from Rocco, but Jason pointed out how she would be putting stress on Rocco if she kept putting him in a position to choose between seeing her and his parents’ wishes. Liesl said she didn’t want to put stress on Rocco, but he wanted to know about Britt, and she loved sharing stories about her daughter.
Jason was sympathetic to her feelings but reminded her that Britt and Rocco were never related. Because she stole Dante and Lulu’s embryo and passed Rocco off as her own, Dante and Lulu got to feel how they wanted about the situation and Britt. When Liesl said Britt was “Ben’s” mother for almost a year, he said Britt wasn’t there now, but Dante and Lulu were, so she needed to respect their decision. She attempted to rationalize more, but he told her, “Please. Don’t try to come between Rocco and his parents.”
Liesl claimed she wasn’t trying to cause problems, but only providing the answers Rocco sought. Jason asked if she had told him it was her idea to steal the embryo, which she hadn’t. He advised that, if she wanted a real relationship with Rocco, she needed to tell him the whole truth about her and Britt, even the unflattering parts. When Liesl said she wouldn’t badmouth her deceased daughter, Jason reminded her that Britt didn’t care what anybody else thought and wouldn’t want her whitewashing what she did, especially to Rocco. He felt if she told Rocco the truth, she would earn Rocco’s trust.
Meanwhile, Danny and Rocco talked about Liesl and Britt as they were gathering the equipment. Danny said Liesl was weird but not as scary as he thought she’d be. Rocco acknowledged Liesl had done some “sus” things but, now, it seemed like all she wanted to do was get to know him. He didn’t want to upset his parents and wondered if he should just drop the whole thing.
Rocco said he got Britt wasn’t his mom, but he still wanted to know stuff about her, and the only people willing to talk about her were Jason and Dr. Obrecht. Danny said he had the right to want to know more because it was his life. When Danny and Rocco returned to Jason and Liesl, she said she forgot her lactose pills, so they would have to wait until another time. After she left, Rocco said he wished there was a way he could have known Britt.
Dante went to see Laura at her Mayoral office. She wanted to know if Sonny kidnapped Marco Rios. Dante said, despite how convoluted Marco’s story sounded, it was the statement he gave and did not accuse anyone, so it was an open-and-shut case. She didn’t want to appear as if she was looking the other way or complicit with Sonny’s actions and asked Dante if he thought it was worthwhile to pursue a case against his father.
Dante reiterated that there was no evidence, and a victim who didn’t want to admit he was abducted. Laura admitted to being relieved and was worried about the effect it would have on Rocco if he saw Sonny get arrested.
They moved on to talking about Britt and Liesl. Laura understood the way Dante and Lulu felt, but gave him the same advice she did to her daughter. She encouraged him to let Rocco explore his new situation and said she thought it comforted Rocco to hear that Britt wasn’t all bad. Dante didn’t love it, but because he thought Britt was no longer alive, he said he’d be okay with it. Laura reassured him they would find a solution to everything.
