What happened on General Hospital

In front of the Metro Court Restaurant, Carly asked Brennan if he wanted to get away for the weekend and go to the Finger Lakes. Anna interrupted their lovey-dovey moment, telling Carly they had unfinished business. Carly was irritated because she was under the impression Anna ditched their meeting the other night.
While Brennan was giving her the death-stare, Anna said she missed their meeting because, as police commissioner, sometimes she was “held hostage” by events. Instead of saying anything about Josslyn, Anna asked Carly if she was aware of Lucas’ claim that Sonny abducted Marco.
Not seeing the point of the conversation, Carly grew more irritated. Anna pretended to be doing follow-up about Lucas’ claim, but Carly said she did not have any information about Marco’s alleged abduction and left to talk with her chef.
Agitated, Brennan asked Anna what that song-and-dance was about and if she did it to have fun at his expense. She said she wanted to see how he would react when he thought she would say something about Josslyn. He reminded her it would be treason if she ever did say anything.
Treason or not, Anna said, if anything happened to Josslyn, she would tell Carly that, while she was making plans for a romantic weekend with Brennan, her daughter was risking her life on his orders. After Anna left, Carly returned with wine to kick off the weekend. She expressed her gratitude for Anna coming to her about Josslyn and wanted to let everything else go. When toasting, Brennan said he hadn’t been completely honest with her.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Jason came down the stairs to let Alexis know Monica wasn’t feeling well enough to see her right now. He said she’d been fighting a virus for a while and some days were better than others. Alexis told Jason about Drew planning to move to D.C. and taking Scout with him.
She was very upset at Drew’s behavior and lack of consideration for the stability and family Scout needed. Drew was still desperate for Monica’s approval so Alexis felt she might be the only person able to get through to him. Alexis asked Jason if he could talk to Monica to see if she could possibly dissuade Drew from moving to D.C.
Later, Jason returned from talking with Monica and told Alexis she said she would get through to Drew as soon as possible. Alexis thanked Jason for his help and asked him to convey her gratitude to Monica for hers. After leaving the Metro Court, Anna came to see Jason. She told him she was wrong about leaving the Britt situation alone, and he needed to find her as soon as he could.
At the Five Poppies Resort, Britt was enjoying a cocktail while sunbathing when Pascal came up to tell her she should be in the lab because “he” was expecting results. Britt said to tell “him” she was on strike. Later, Pascal returned to let Britt know the air filtration system was being repaired in the lab. She let a frustrated Pascal know that she required perfect conditions for working and, until the system was completely repaired to her specifications, she was not working.
Eventually, Pascal returned again to inform Britt that the air filtration system had been completely restored and the lab was at 68 degrees Fahrenheit, per her specifications.
She said it was too late for her to work because she’d already had too many cocktails and was headed back to her room to take a nap.
Losing his patience, he grabbed her arm and told her there were ways to sober her up and ensure she stayed that way, and asked if he should show her. He said he’d reached his breaking point with her petulance, and she needed to stop causing delays. From behind Britt, Vaughn and Josslyn (undercover newlyweds), walked up and asked if this is where they checked in.
At the hospital, a manic Drew barged into a staff-only room to see Elizabeth to beg her for an update on Willow. He wanted Willow to give him the opportunity to explain about him and Nina and needed a chance to fix everything. Elizabeth told him Willow needed time and space to heal, but he wouldn’t back off, insisting Willow was all alone with the “entire world” against her.
Elizabeth clapped back by telling him Willow had “an entire community of people” at GH who respected her, supported her, and wanted the best for her. “So no, she’s not alone. And, despite what you think, she hasn’t lost everything”, said Elizabeth, who went on to tell him Willow needed to fix her life by herself.
Drew droned on about him and Willow and the people who have wronged them, and asked if Elizabeth honestly thought Willow was better off without him. Elizabeth said she didn’t know, but she did know Willow was making her own decisions based on the truth. She said she wasn’t judging him and vaguely acknowledged their past and how her own lies hurt him and others. Regardless, she told him the best thing he could do for Willow was to respect her and give her the time and space she asked for.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Portia was commending Isaiah for a successful ten-hour surgery. They still had a bit of a vibe developing between them. Portia shared her cautious optimism that she would be staying at the hospital and thanked him for the support he’d given her. She also let him know about her marriage to Curtis, getting back on track. She asked if he had anyone he was seeing, but he said all of his time outside of the hospital had been taken up with the “money pit” of a cabin he was renovating. Before Isaiah walked off, Stella saw them looking a little more intimate than she approved of.
Stella asked Portia how close she was to Dr. Gannon. She told Portia she didn’t want her to run the risk of her friendship with Isaiah looking like professional impropriety. Portia thanked her for the concern but assured her that she had clear boundaries with everyone who reported to her. She also thanked Stella for not prying when it came to her marital troubles with Curtis and for giving them the chance to work it out on their own.
Stella said she loved them and wanted what was best for them. Portia acknowledged that her and Curtis’ struggle wasn’t over, but they both decided they wanted to fight for their marriage. Drew walked up to see Stella and Portia hugging and decided it was time to go after Stella. He made a call to Financial Services to open an insurance-fraud investigation.
Jordan ran across Curtis while she was jogging through the park. When they sat to talk, Curtis told her about Drew wanting a truce, which he wasn’t sure he could totally trust. He also let her know he and Portia talked everything out and decided to put in the work to fix their marriage. He credited Jordan for making it happen, saying her honesty with him helped them avoid letting their nostalgia lead them to take things too far.
Curtis said he valued their friendship and didn’t want to throw it away, to which Jordan agreed. She felt the lines and boundaries were clear again, so they could safely continue their friendship.
He went on to ask how working for Sidwell was going. For the second time over the past couple of days, Portia indicated that, in some ways, she liked working for Sidwell. She said the work was interesting, challenging, and she was making great money. She did go on to say that she didn’t trust Sidwell and was as committed as she ever was to taking him down.
Curtis expressed concern, but she claimed not to be losing sight of her goal. To keep up the persona of a COO of a multinational corporation, she said she just bought a fancy apartment. When she pointed out its location, Curtis remarked that she would have a harbor view just like she did in Baltimore. From a distance, Isaiah walked by and saw them looking quite chummy as they talked.
Dante was at Laura’s mayoral office when Lulu arrived. Neither realized Laura had told them both to meet there, but figured it had something to do with Rocco. Laura got straight to the point when she arrived and said they needed to make peace with Liesl Obrecht.
The two were resistant to the idea and worried about what Liesl would say to Rocco. Laura reasoned that Rocco just wanted to know that the woman who carried him and gave birth to him wasn’t a horrible person. She said she wasn’t asking Lulu to forgive and excuse Britt, but it would be good to recognize she was more than that.
Laura told them Rocco would only go around them if they forbade him from seeing Liesl and said, “If you want him to trust you…then, I think you have to give him the room he needs to learn more about himself” in a way that would be out in the open and safer. In the end, Lulu asked her mom if she could arrange a meeting for all of them to meet with Liesl Obrecht.
Later, Obrecht arrived. When Laura thanked her for meeting with them on such short notice, Liesl said she moved some things around because “family was paramount.” She said her only interest was for Rocco’s welfare and expressed a hope they could speak civilly, to which Lulu agreed for her and Dante.
Lulu apologized for overreacting with her at the Metro Court. Liesl said Rocco was the one who reached out to her, but said she’d always hoped he would want to know her. She pointedly said she wanted any place for her in his life to be his choice, not hers. Dante did not receive her pointed comment well and told her Rocco was only 15 and, until he was an adult, it would be their decision as his parents if he got to see her.
Laura intervened, asking Liesl to understand Dante and Lulu’s need to create some boundaries to protect Rocco. Then, the situation started to go off the rails. Sounding like she should have a say in the matter, Liesl countered Dante by saying Rocco deserved a measure of autonomy so he could develop and trust his own instincts. Lulu said they were there to explain or defend their parenting, but they were there because Rocco was interested in how he came to be.
Liesl said Rocco wanted to know about her, Britta, who gave him life. Lulu kept her calm and offered Liesl an invitation to come to her house, where Rocco could ask his questions and she could answer. When she said she and Dante would also be there, Liesl became indignant at the thought of a supervised visit and asked if they were going to regulate their questions and answers as well. When she said, “Perhaps you like to approve, beforehand, what we’re going to say. Maybe you’d like a transcript”, Lulu said there needed to be safety measures in place.
Quickly angered, Liesl asked if the same safety measures would apply to Laura. She said she would like the same opportunity that Laura had to develop a relationship with her grandson. Lulu told her Rocco had two grandmothers, and she was not one of them. Spinning out, Liesl said Britta carried Rocco, and her blood was in his veins, so, not only should she be considered his grandmother, but Britta was as much Rocco’s mother as Lulu was.
Dante told Liesl she was deranged, and what Britt did to them was absolutely horrific. He said Britt and Liesl didn’t just steal a sample, but stole their embryo. Liesl said they wouldn’t have had a son if Britta hadn’t carried him, only a frozen embryo that would probably no longer be viable. Laura tried to rein it back in, but it was too late.
“My daughter gave you a miracle. She herself was a miracle”, Liesl claimed. Dante countered, “Actually, your daughter was a criminal and so are you.” He told Liesl she was actually something way worse, and he hadn’t forgotten who she was. When he recounted how she messed with his head and tried to make him her personal assassin, she tried to dismiss it as ancient history. He vowed to hunt down every warrant that ever had her name associated with it and use them to throw her in a jail cell unless she decided to skip town before he got the chance. She asked how he would tell his son that he put his grandmother, the only person with the answers he sought in a jail cell.
