Lucas and Carly were trying to figure out where Marco was. Carly tried to offer a reasonable explanation for why Marco wasn’t at the hotel and wasn’t answering calls, but Lucas immediately worried that Sonny had taken Marco.

Carly said he was making assumptions, but Lucas said he was making an educated guess. She let him know that she had talked to Sonny after he had asked her to. She begged Sonny not to use violence to retaliate and to find another way to avoid future attacks on their children. “He listened patiently and then told me to stay out of it”, she said. Lucas agreed to go to the church to see if Marco was there, but knew it was a long shot.

Marco was being held captive at an unknown location. He continued to knock on the door and demanded to be let out. Jason and an associate were on the other side of the door, listening, as Marco said he knew Sonny was behind this and his father would be out for blood.

As Marco pleaded to be let out, Jason told his associate to stay in front of the door until he returned and not to let Marco out because he was essential to Sonny’s plan. As Marco continued to protest, he glanced at the chair in the room and quickly devised a plan. He yelled to the guard that he was diabetic and needed to eat, otherwise he would pass out. When the guard opened the door, Marco hit him over the head with a chair.

Later, when Jason returned from the church and asked what happened, the guard said nothing he couldn’t handle. Marco was then shown handcuffed to the chair with a cloth muzzle.

Sonny surprised Sidwell at the church to let him know Marco would not be coming. When Sidwell asked what he had done with Marco, Sonny told him he should be asking, “How do I get my son home in one piece?”

Sidwell claimed to have been above board with Sonny and had done nothing to provoke “this reprehensible attack” on his family. Sonny told him he shouldn’t lie in a church because he could be struck down on the spot, but Sidwell continued to lie and say he had nothing to do with the fire at Charlie’s.

When Sidwell said his sources told him Selina Wu was behind it, Sonny immediately let him know he wasn’t telling the truth. When he said, “You had Charlie’s burned down because I rejected your ‘generous’ offer to buy my property. But, you didn’t have the guts to come at me directly, so you went after my daughter”, Sidwell claimed he did no such thing.

Sonny said he didn’t like to involve family, especially kids, and maybe Sidwell didn’t mean it, but Kristina almost died, which made Marco fair game. Looking him straight in the eyes, Sonny said, “If you think Marco is in danger, it’s not because of me. It’s because of you.”

The two went back and forth for a while. When Sidwell asked where Sonny's sense of decency was, Sonny told him he got his son into this, and he needed to get him out. He wanted Sidwell to clean up the political mess and then to get the hell out of his way. Sonny said he knew Sidwell exploited the situation and was pulling the strings to ensure Measure C passed, but now he needed to make sure it didn't pass.

Sidwell tried to turn the situation on Sonny by telling him he had alienated all of Port Charles, including influential figures like Congressman Cain and Councilman Boyle, which was why he was going to lose his piers. When Sidwell claimed there was nothing he could do about it, Sonny said he liked Marco, but if Sidwell didn’t figure out something to do, he’d never see his son again.

Sonny told Sidwell he wanted him to pull all funding from Measure C and Ezra Boyle’s ridiculous campaign to be mayor. He also wanted him to use all of his influence to stop the media attack on him and Laura. Sidwell questioned how he was supposed to fix Sonny’s bad reputation that had been developed over 30 years. Sonny told Sidwell that he made all of this his problem when he came after his family, but he was counting on him to fix it, as was Marco.

Jason arrived at the church just in time to prevent Lucas from entering. When Jason confirmed Marco wasn’t there, Lucas wanted to know where he was and what Jason had done to him. Jason told him he needed to stay out of it, and it would be best if he would leave. Lucas knew exactly what was happening with Sonny and Sidwell. He asked Jason to be honest with him and let him know if Marco was going to die or if he was already dead.

Jason said he was sorry, but he couldn’t have this conversation with him. Lucas said he understood why Sonny would want to punish Sidwell, but it was unfair to use Marco to do it. When Lucas told Jason it wasn’t right to drag innocent people into this war, Jason said Sidwell, not Sonny, did that. Lucas questioned where it would end. What if Sidwell turned around and went after Michael, Dante, Avery, Donna, or even Danny?

Lucas warned that, if anything happened to Marco, his blood would be on Jason’s hands. He continued to berate a stoic Jason and said if innocent people got hurt, he and Sonny would be no better than Sidwell. When Sonny walked out, Lucas begged Sonny not to hurt Marco and was surprised when Sonny went to walk away without saying anything.

Panicked, Lucas said, if Marco didn’t show up alive, he was going to go to the police and tell them everything he knew about Sonny’s deal with Natalia. Sonny said he didn’t think Lucas was going to tell the police anything they didn’t already know. Desperate, Lucas said he would go to Drew Cain, who would know what to do with the information. Sonny told him to do what he needed to do.

When Lucas entered the church, Sidwell told him that Sonny had Marco, and Lucas needed to intervene and save his son. Lucas said he had already tried and he couldn’t fix it. On the other hand, Lucas felt Sidwell did. He reasoned that if Marco was alive, it meant they wanted something from Sidwell, so he should just give it to them.

Sidwell questioned how he could trust them or even know his son would come back alive. Indignant, Lucas said it was a chance he would have to take. When Sidwell told him Sonny would see it as weakness, Lucas shouted, “Who cares? Your son’s life is in danger all because you decided to go after Sonny. When you set fire to Charlie’s, did you even stop to think for a second that maybe that would be putting a target on Marco’s back?”

Sidwell said he knew Lucas would take Sonny’s side, but Sonny was the one with blood on his hands and the one responsible for Natalia’s death. Lucas told Sidwell he was not on Sonny’s side, but on his son’s, and he wanted him to do whatever it took to bring him back. He said, “his life is in your hands,” and left.

At the hospital, Willow approached Michael, Sasha, and Daisy, asking how her children were doing. Michael told her Amelia was fine, but Wylie was still upset and confused thanks to her. Willow said if Wylie was upset, it was because of Michael and not her.

With tunnel vision, Willow asked Sasha if she ever wondered how long it would be before Michael felt he had to protect Daisy from her. She said, “Michael used to be the same great guy with me, but he’s not that man anymore. And it’s only a matter of time before the man he is now tries to separate you from your child.”

Michael told Willow she needed to turn around and walk away, or she was going to make things worse for herself just like at the pool. The two had quite a contentious exchange where they hurled accusations and blame. Michael said Wylie’s tears at the pool were a reminder that she couldn’t be trusted with him or Amelia, which is why he told Diane to contact the court. He said, “Check your email. Visitation hearing has been pushed back to October.”

Willow said three months was an eternity, and she couldn’t go that long without seeing her children. Michael told her the hearing had already been rescheduled, and she should use that time to get her life in order. When he told her, if she was smart, she would leave Drew and start rebuilding her life, she responded, “Like hell I will. Drew and I are getting married.”

In that case, he said, she should prepare never to see her kids again. Willow tried to get Sasha to step in and defend her position because she felt her kids needed her. Michael said the kids didn’t need her in her current state. Nurse Deanna came to get Sasha and Daisy for the appointment. Willow heard Deanna say something about international travel. Willow protested Michael taking her kids out of the country, but he said he wasn’t and walked off. After Daisy’s check-up went well, Michael and Sasha had a heart-to-heart, wishing things could be different.

Later, Drew met a panicked Willow at the hospital. She told him the visitation hearing had been moved, and she wasn’t able to do anything about it. He told her not to worry because they would soon have everything they needed to take the kids away from Michael for good.

Nina met with Tracy for afternoon tea in the Quartermaine solarium. Tracy had a proposition for Nina. After going on about her contempt for Sonny, she shared that she worried he would eventually put Gio in danger and wanted Nina’s help to drive Sonny from Port Charles for good.

Tracy wanted Nina to use her media connections to persuade the citizens of Port Charles to vote “yes” on Measure C. Nina argued that, even though Sonny had his flaws, he was a good man at his core, to which Tracy vehemently disagreed. They argued back and forth about Sonny, but Tracy was steadfast in her need to remove Sonny from Gio’s life in order to keep him safe. She proclaimed, “Sonny killed Monica’s son. I will not have him be responsible for anything happening to my great-grandson.” After she wasn’t getting through to Nina, Tracy said Nina should want to run Sonny out to protect her own grandchildren, Wiley and Amelia.

Nina admitted Tracy gave her a lot to think about but she still cared about Sonny and would need an incentive. She said if Tracy assisted in helping Willow get her children back, then she might go against Sonny. “Wow, you have totally misread this situation. And, here I was hoping we could do this the easy way…You misread our dynamic. You thought that my generosity was an opportunity for you to extort a favor. Now we’re going to do this the hard way”, Tracy replied.

Tracy then told Nina she was going to have to speak out against Sonny, or else Tracy would let Willow know that Nina slept with Drew behind her back. At first, Nina tried to deny it and then tried to minimize it, but neither tactic worked. Tracy bottom-lined it for her, “What’s it going to be, Nina? Are you going to protect Sonny or your relationship with your daughter?” Nina finally acquiesced and left. But, out of earshot, Nina turned and said she wouldn’t forget about this, and Tracy just messed with the wrong bitch.

Afterward, Nina waited in the kitchen to see Sasha when she arrived from the hospital. Sasha let her know she was leaving town with Daisy. When Michael saw Tracy in the solarium, she let him know she was taking steps against Sonny to keep the family safe, and he let her know Sasha was getting ready to leave with Daisy in order to keep her safe.

Carly was leaving a frantic message for Sonny when she arrived at her house. She hadn’t made it out of the foyer when Drew knocked at the door. She tried to close the door on him, but he highly suggested she hear him out because it was going to be the last chance to save her grandchildren.

After futilely arguing about Michael and Willow, Carly asked why Drew was there and what he wanted from her. He wanted her to talk to Michael to get him to compromise and threatened that if she didn’t, things were going to get really, really ugly.

When Carly asked if he was threatening her and Michael, he said he was just trying to do whatever he needed to get Willow her kids back. He contended that Michael was only keeping the kids away from them out of petty revenge. Carly told him, “Willow has proven over and over again that being with you and doing what you want is more important than being with her kids. She keeps saying she’s so devoted to her children, but she’s really only devoted to you.”

When she reiterated that she would not ever ask Michael to back down, Drew told her she was a fool and a hypocrite. Drew threw some of Carly’s past choices in her face, arguing she had no right to judge Willow. Finally, he said if Michael didn’t reconsider his position, he would have no other choice but to go on the attack. When she said she wasn’t impressed with his chest thumping like Willow was, he threatened, “You see, you think Michael holds all the cards here, but he doesn’t. And, his refusal to compromise is going to cause him more misery than you could ever imagine.”

Later, after leaving the church, Sonny went to Carly’s. When she asked where Marco was and if he was alive, Sonny told her she needed to stay out of it. She begged him not to do anything because Marco didn’t deserve it, and more people could be hurt.
