What happened on General Hospital

Sidwell arrived at Drew and Willow’s house to meet with Drew, Martin, and Jordan. He told them he needed to withdraw his support from Measure C and halt his attacks on Sonny. Drew protested, but Sidwell said they would have to continue their campaign against Sonny without his financial support. When he suggested Tracy Quartermaine could make up the difference, Martin volunteered to deliver the information to Tracy himself and left.
When Drew asked why he was pulling his support, Sidwell told them Sonny kidnapped Marco. Drew said they needed to continue the campaign because Sonny always exploited people to get what he wanted. Jordan said what they really needed was to bring in the police.
Sidwell said he had to act immediately for his son’s safety, but remarked Sonny only won the battle, not the war. He planned to strike back after Marco was safe and vowed to make Sonny pay in ways he’d never dreamed of. When Drew warned against doing anything like the fire at Charlie’s, Sidwell denied any involvement and said his sources told him it was Selina Wu.
Jordan left to see Laura. Sidwell said he may have another strategy to get the piers besides Measure C, but he was not going to be taking any further steps until Marco was home safe. After Sidwell left, Martin returned to Drew’s. When Drew gave him an invite to the wedding, he reminded him he didn’t do weddings and broke out in hives at the very thought of them.
When Drew told him they needed “bodies in those seats” and he needed to go, Martin said he would bill him if he went. Drew went outside to make a call. When Martin bent down to pick up a pen off the floor, he found an envelope addressed to Monica Quartermaine that the kids had colored. Outside, Drew called the hospital to see if Portia was working. When he came back in, Martin showed him the envelope, which he dismissed, saying it must have been something the kids picked up at the Quartermaines. After Drew left, Martin sat down to read the letter inside the envelope, which was written to Monica. Martin read the beginning aloud, but stopped with his mouth agape at what he saw next.
Brook Lynn met Tracy at the Metro Court pool. Tracy wanted to celebrate Brook Lynn’s successful appearance on Home & Heart and the product selling out. BLQ told Tracy she needed to thank Lois and told her about Lucy’s stunt.
Brook Lynn admitted to missing Lois, but let Tracy know she fired her anyway. Tracy was gleeful about her decision, but Brook Lynn said, “Now, I just feel empty.” Before they could continue, Martin walked in and Tracy said, “Oh God, we’ve just been spotted by the Janky Jurist.”
Martin told her about Sidwell withdrawing his funding, and if she wanted to continue pursuing Sonny, she would have to fund it herself. Tracy said she would fully fund the campaign, and Martin could slither away to his overlord. When he told her to be sure to answer when Drew called, she told him that wasn’t going to happen. “One of the blessings of Sidwell backing out – I no longer have to tolerate either of you barnacles holding on, desperately, for relevance”, she said.
BLQ was not happy with Tracy's involvement with Drew and Sidwell and their tactics to take Sonny down. She also reminded Tracy that not everyone, like Gio, shared her feelings about Sonny. Brook Lynn felt if Tracy hurt Sonny, she was also hurting Gio, which would cost her. But, Tracy said Gio was the reason she couldn’t let this go, and was shocked Brook Lynn would ask her to.
Tracy said two things could be true: Brook Lynn could believe Sonny had a good heart, and she could believe he posed a threat to Gio. She asked Brook Lynn if she could honestly tell her she was wrong.
Isaiah met with Portia in her office at the hospital. She informed him she was leaving GH, but said she couldn’t share why. He wanted to respect her privacy but also wanted to help. Isaiah said he respected that she drew a line in the sand with her ethics, but she was an excellent co-Chief of Staff and he’d miss her. She thanked him for his professional and personal support. He encouraged her to honor what she knew was right and told her if she was going to go down, go down swinging.
At the nurse’s desk, Willow gave Elizabeth a formal invitation to her and Drew’s wedding (the evites had already been sent out). Willow was excited to officially become Mrs. Drew Cain. As they were looking at a picture of Willow’s dress and talking about the wedding, Willow began to cry. She was sad Michael was not going to allow her kids to be there.
Elizabeth said she felt hopeful there was still a chance for a resolution between Willow and Michael. Willow said the wedding was about moving forward and getting Wiley and Amelia back soon which she felt was all thanks to Drew. She said Drew was giving up the dream wedding he knew she wanted to give her the wedding she needed.
Later, Isaiah talked with Elizabeth about the “money pit” of a cabin Lucky left him as well as Drew and Willow’s wedding. Elizabeth said she hoped marrying Drew was going to make Willow as happy as Willow thought it would.
Willow went to see Portia in her office and tried to give her an invitation to the wedding. She said she knew things were strained between Drew and Curtis, but it was a time to put the past aside because the wedding was going to be one of the most important days of Drew’s life. Portia snatched the invite out of Willow’s hand and threw it in the trash. “Handling you with kid gloves is clearly not working. I’ve never been one to beat around the bush, so I’m going to give it to you straight. You have no idea who your fiancé really is and it’s high time you found out”, said Portia.
Willow told her it was inappropriate to comment on her personal life, but Portia said not when it came to Drew. When Willow turned to walk out, Portia asked her if she wanted to know what Drew was forcing her to do to get Willow’s kids back for her. She told her about Drew blackmailing her to falsify Michael’s medical records to make it look like he was addicted to drugs. “That’s your knight in shining armor. That’s the man you’re about to marry”, she said.
Lucas arrived from the police station to thank Isaiah for covering his surgery for him. Isaiah gave Lucas a small envelope which someone dropped off for him. The envelope had a card with an address typed on it and a key.
At Laura’s Mayoral office, Sonny called Sidwell when he was outside of Drew’s to see if he had made a decision. Sidwell told Sonny he was going to get what he wanted, but Sidwell also expected to get what he wanted. Laura walked in after the call. Sonny told Laura she needed to cut ties with him and, if she didn’t, he would.
Laura didn’t want to accept Sonny’s decision, but he said she should cut ties, at least, for now. Knowing the deal he just made with Sidwell, he said he didn’t expect the bad press to last forever. Laura was steadfast in not wanting to give into Sidwell’s scare tactics and losing her integrity. ADA Turner called Sonny to tell him to come to the station. She made it clear she knew he was at Laura’s office and encouraged him to come in voluntarily.
After Sonny left, Jordan went from Drew’s house to see Laura to give her an update about Sidwell. She let her know Sidwell was pulling his funds and support of Measure C because Sonny was holding Marco captive.
Laura asked if there was any proof Sonny took Marco, but knew it was likely. Jordan cautioned that it may be time to stop thinking about Sonny as the lesser of two evils because he may be as bad as Sidwell.
Earlier, Lucas went to the PCPD and told Chase that Marco had been missing for over 24 hours because Sonny kidnapped him. After giving him the details, Chase said there was nothing concrete to connect Marco with Sonny. As Chase said he couldn’t bring someone in on just a hunch, ADA Turner interrupted and said it wasn’t “just someone”, it was Sonny Corinthos and the PCPD needed to treat Marco as a potential abduction.
Lucas left a signed statement but left for the hospital by the time Sonny arrived. Turner let Sonny know he was there because Marco Rios was missing and had been kidnapped. In the interrogation room, Sonny told her she had no proof, and he had no issues with Marco Rios, who saved his daughter’s life.
Sonny said, “We both know, you got nothing, so let’s talk about what’s really going on.” He leaned in and with a whispered tone asked, “Did you call me in here, because you missed me?”
While Turner told him she would have him arrested if Marco didn’t turn up in the next 24 hours, Sonny could see Sidwell talking with Chase through the window. He told her to do what she needed to do.
Lois sat by herself at the Home & Heart set when Flora came up with a spiked tea and sympathetic ear. They sat and talked about Lois and Brook Lynn’s situation. Lois explained how everything happened with Gio. Flora told Lois she kept her family together the only way she knew how, but Lois acknowledged it destroyed everything.
Lois was especially regretful about Gio and Brook Lynn’s relationship being ruined and said she would give anything to fix it. Flora said it sounded like Lois was still prioritizing Brook Lynn’s and Gio’s happiness just like she always had. Flora went on to point out that, even though Lois had been carrying the burden and responsibility of keeping the secret, the lie actually started with her mother.
Lois said her mother followed her own moral compass and values, which may have come from a different generation, but they weren’t necessarily right or wrong. Regardless, Lois owned her decision to go along with the plan, and therefore, everything that happened was her responsibility. Flora said the bond between a mother and daughter was tough as nails and, at some point, Brook Lynn would need her mama and come back to her. Lois hoped she was right, but planned to go back to Bensonhurst and give Brook Lynn space in the meantime.
