What happened on General Hospital

Before Jason met with Carly, he met Drew at the hospital. Drew wanted Jason to propose a solution to Michael, which he felt was the answer to their problems, but he also wanted some assurances from Michael first.

Jason quickly told him he was the problem, and Michael had to take the kids because he had no other choice. Drew countered that there were other choices and told him they had talked to Carly at the Nurse’s Ball to offer a compromise to Michael that would have given him a “very generous visitation schedule”. (Side note: It was not a generous visitation schedule.)

Jason argued, “He trusted you. You tore his family apart, and then you set Wiley up to believe that his own father doesn’t want him. Your poison, your poison to those kids, and until Willow sees it, there will be no compromise.”

Drew insisted they all hate that he empowered Willow to stand up to him. He believed they all knew what a great mother she was, but they were punishing her because she refused to fall in line and do as she was told.

Jason asked if he really believed that, to which Drew emphatically said yes, he believed the truth. He went on to say what happened in court was a travesty and Michael “may have stolen those kids away from the mother, but he was not going to keep them.”

Jason stepped closer to him and asked, “Is that the message you want me to take back to Michael?” Drew responded, “Quote me.”

Jason told Drew he was not going to take Michael’s kids. Drew tried to bait him, saying that it was so typical. “You rushing into battle for Carly and Sonny and their family, meanwhile, your own family is just sitting back, begging for your attention,” Drew glowered. He asked when was the last time he checked in on Danny or Jake. “Sam would be so proud that, even after her own death, you haven’t made your own children a priority.”

Jason didn’t bite and reiterated that Drew would never get Michael’s children. He told him, “You may have destroyed their mother, but you will not destroy them. Quote me,” and left.

After his meeting with Tracy, Martin went back to the hospital to meet with Drew, who declared they were “going to war”. Drew vowed to get the kids back, and he wanted Martin (who looked a bit concerned) to use every weapon in his arsenal to do it. Martin said there was one drastic thing he could do, but it was risky with the potential of unlimited catastrophe.

A war was escalating at Maxie’s house. Lulu reiterated she didn’t owe Brook Lynn anything, much less an apology. Brook Lynn told her she was selfish and couldn’t take accountability for the “nightmare mess” because she didn’t think anything was ever her fault, no matter how many lives her selfishness destroyed. Lulu clapped back, “The only thing destroying lives is your lies, Brook Lynn. Don’t try to put that on me.”

Brook Lynn said from the moment Lulu woke up from her little “catnap” she was looking to tear her down. Despite Brook Lynn’s accusations, Lulu said she didn’t have a master plan to destroy her, explaining, “Dante had a child out in the world, and Rocco had a brother. They both deserved the right to get to know him. That’s it.” She reiterated that she never meant to hurt Gio, but the biggest mistake she made was not telling Dante the minute she knew he had a child with Brook Lynn.

Lulu argued that Brook Lynn had months to tell Dante the truth after their initial confrontation. Brook Lynn said she thought Lulu respected the choices she made for her child. Lulu said she understood her choices, but once she found out it was Gio, she couldn’t stay silent any longer.

Brook Lynn asked why she couldn’t see that it wasn’t her call to make. Lulu said that because she chose to tell the truth, while Brook Lynn chose to lie again and again.

“You will never understand how hard it was to give up my baby. It’s like I died inside. All I wanted was to give him a better life. A life a teenager couldn’t. Why won’t you see that?” asked Brook Lynn. Lulu replied, “I do see that! There is so much more to it than that. I would sacrifice anything for my children, but what I won’t do is lie to them. I don’t lie to them, and I don’t keep huge, life-altering secrets from them. You and your mother made Gio’s entire life a lie; no wonder he wants nothing to do with you.” With angry contempt, Brook Lynn slapped Lulu.

As Lulu lunged toward Brook Lynn, Maxie intervened and held her back. Maxie told them they took it too far and told Brook Lynn she needed to go home. Getting ready to leave, Brook Lynn declared, “But this isn’t over, Lulu. You came after my son, and you will pay dearly.”

Maxie agreed that Brook Lynn should not have hit her, but told Lulu she took it way too far. Maxie said the world would go on with the two of them hating each other, but Gio found out in the worst possible way. Maxie insisted, “You hurt Brook Lynn’s child, and you have got to own that."

At the Metro Court pool, Emma talked with Gio as Professor Dalton got out of the pool.

Emma approached Dalton to chat. He told her, even though she didn’t get the position, she was a standout in his class, and she was welcome to come by his office anytime if she wanted to talk shop.

After Dalton left, Gio asked, “What the hell are you doing?” Emma explained she was still trying to expose Dalton because of his research using animal testing. She said Dalton wouldn’t be the first sleazy professor to be interested in one of his students. Gio offered his help even though he thought it was a bad idea and pledged to always have her back.

Brennan met Carly, who updated him on everything that had happened since the Nurse’s Ball. She thanked him for getting Michael into the burn clinic and said nothing would have been possible without his help.

She gave him a gift…a large crescent wrench (a reference to when he fixed her sink), which was engraved “to a Jack of all trades”. Brennan looked genuinely touched when he told her it was the most thoughtful gift he had ever received. Carly let him know she would always be grateful to him because her kids are the most important thing in her life. After Brennan left, Jason showed up from his meeting with Drew. He updated Carly on Drew’s almost-proposal and the message he had for Michael.

Carly expressed that Michael did want Willow to see the kids, but only after she was better. They both reaffirmed that Drew was the problem. Carly saw Willow as being shattered and felt terrible for her, but ultimately, it was all Drew’s fault. She felt Willow was so fragile and taken with Drew that it was like she was back in a cult.

Jason was very concerned that Drew was not going to give up, and he could do something crazy. When Carly vowed that Drew would never get near her grandchildren again, and she would do whatever it took to stop him, Gio overheard.

After leaving Maxie's, Lulu showed up at the pool and approached Gio to say she owed him a major apology.

At Professor Dalton’s office, Vaughn (dressed as a maintenance guy again) came to check up on Josslyn, who was downloading some files from Dalton’s computer. She didn’t find anything suspicious that he was keeping on the university mainframe and assured Vaughn she would get all of his information off his phone.

After his swim at the pool, Dalton returned to his office. Josslyn gave him his messages and covered his phone after he put it down on his desk. He asked her to make some changes to the proposal while he went to the lab. She requested to meet him at the lab once she was done, but he said it was too soon.

Mopping the area outside of the office, Vaughn kept watch as Dalton left without his phone. Josslyn was almost finished copying the contents of his phone when Dalton quickly returned to the office. Thanks to a quick tip-off from Vaughn, Josslyn didn’t get caught. Dalton came in for his phone. After he found it on his messy desk, he told Josslyn to clean the mess up and abruptly left.

Not long after he left, Emma walked into Dalton’s office unannounced while Vaughn and Josslyn were talking. He quickly kissed Josslyn to cover what they were really doing.

Martin came to see Tracy at the Q mansion. She greeted him by saying, “I see prison taught you punctuality.” With an exaggerated fake chuckle, he said he was there because he assumed she was ready to pay him to intercede with Drew on her behalf and asked her if she had her checkbook ready. Tracy told him her checkbook goes in the safe the minute she knows he is in the same zip code as her.

She called Martin there so he could get a message to Drew…she would give him the Quartermaine name back if Drew retracts his statement to the police, refuses to testify in court and clears her name.

Martin responded, “No, I don’t think so. “I don’t think this deal works for us.” He proposed that there was a way both of them could win and wanted her to agree to a very public press conference where she warmly welcomes Drew back into the “bosom” of the Quartermaine family. What he wanted her to say was already written and ready to go.

After reading the statement Martin had taken the liberty to write, Tracy said, “Wow, you did take a few blows to the head if you think I’m going to accept responsibility for something I didn’t do.”

He warned Tracy that he would be happy whether she was publicly humiliated or in prison — either would work for him. “I’ll give you time to think about my client’s offer. You know where to find me, he said as he was leaving. Tracy replied, “In line to sell your plasma.”

After leaving Maxie’s house, Brook Lynn went back home to meet with Marco again. She had been having him research a “dead woman,” and he was curious why. Brook Lynn told him the woman played a major role in Lulu’s life. Her actions directly impacted Lulu and her family, and she wanted all legal documents concerning it. She wanted to prove Lulu wasn’t half the mother she said she was, and the key to proving it is Britt Westbourne.

At the PCPD, Anna told an arguing Chase and Dante to follow her. She took their badges and guns and locked them in a cell, telling them to figure it out and start acting like partners again. She instructed the guard to turn the hose on them if they started fighting again.

Both stalwart in their positions, the two argued. Chase said he was always going to show his loyalty to Brook Lynn and always going to have her back, to which Dante replied, “And just stab me in mine?”

Chase explained that Brook Lynn was afraid Dante would go looking for his son when he found out. Dante said he would have — and he would have found a 22-year-old adult living under his nose in the same house. He went on to explain that he could forgive teenage Brook Lynn for wanting to stay quiet, but not the adult who has been living in the same house as him.

Chase reasoned she kept the secret because she didn’t want to disrupt her child’s life. Dante said he understood her feelings as a teenager, but that she should be ashamed for not telling him now. Not happy with his comment, Chase warned him he needed to be careful how he talked about his wife and maintained Brook Lynn had nothing to be ashamed of.

Continuing to focus on teenage Brook Lynn’s decisions, Chase told Dante he thought she did him a favor because he ran wild back then, and he really wouldn’t have wanted diaper duty and 2 a.m. feedings. Dante argued that she decided what was right for her, but not him or Gio.

Chase argued, “So now you know what the best decision for Gio is or would have been.” “Oh, I’m sorry, I thought it was pretty obvious he didn’t appreciate being lied to his entire life when he smashed his violin at the Nurse’s Ball. But, what do I know? He’s not talking to me,” Dante replied. “And who’s fault is that?” asked Chase.

Chase pointed out Dante’s relationship with Gio was damaged for reasons that have nothing to do with Brook Lynn, Gloria, or Lois, bringing up how he treated Gio after Rocco’s alcohol poisoning.

Taking it even further, Chase said, “If Gio doesn’t want a relationship with you now, that is on you. If you didn’t make yourself someone safe for Gio to come to, that is on you, and that’s what you did.” He added that the blame started and ended with Dante.

Increasingly aggravated, Dante shot back that Chase had no idea what it’s like to get a call that your son is in the hospital, and he wouldn’t know because he wasn’t a father. Sensing that was too much, Dante apologized and said he shouldn’t have said that.

Chase thought Dante was saying a lot of things he didn’t mean and a lot of things he could end up regretting. As his partner and friend, he asked Dante to stop lashing out at everyone.

Upon reflection, Dante admitted to going back and forth emotionally. Chase said he understood that, but said that if he kept isolating himself from everyone, Gio wouldn’t have a place to go to when he wanted to build a relationship with his father.

Dante wasn’t sure having a relationship with him was even going to be an option, but Chase thought Gio was “too overwhelmed to see that he has two really good people as parents. You and Brook Lynn just need a chance to show up for him.” Dante admitted he came down too hard on him and he was wrong. He’s hoping he didn’t blow his only chance to get to know his son.

In the end, Chase offered to request not to be partners if Dante felt he couldn’t trust him. Dante said he hated how everything went down, but he could keep work and life separate if Chase could.

Meanwhile, Anna called Officer Jennings to issue a code 169.2 to an unknown someone. Brennan came to the station after he left the Metro Court pool and asked to talk with Anna privately. He was there as a follow-up to the WSB investigation of Sonny’s second assassination attempt at the hospital in California. Both assassins were found to have current ties with the intelligence community. Brennan surmised, “I would say that your local mob boss has run afoul of someone with very powerful and dangerous connections.” Anna was skeptical why Brennan was sharing the information with her and felt it was more about protecting Carly.

As Brennan was leaving, Anna asked if he had looked into Professor Dalton yet. Brennan told her that he emailed her a report, but as far as he could tell, Dalton was perfectly clean. Anna knew he was lying.

It turned out the 169.2 was for Dalton, who showed up after Brennan left. Anna had a boot put on his car as a ruse to get him to the station. Dalton looked happy to see her.
