What happened on General Hospital

A worn-out Portia went to sit in the hospital staff locker room for a break when a towel-wrapped Isaiah had just come out of the shower. She was tired from working a 16-hour shift, but said she couldn’t work up the energy and wherewithal to go home.
She admitted to actively avoiding going home, and things were not going the way she wanted. He suggested she could use a distraction from home and work and should go out and relax. She was reluctant, but he told her to go get changed so they could go out and have some fun.
At the Metro Court pool, when Nina questioned Willow about getting married to Drew, she let her know it was how she planned to get her kids back. Nina warned it would look like she was trying to work the system to get her kids and could appear irresponsible and reckless.
Willow said Martin felt it was a good legal strategy, to which Nina responded, It might be, but it didn’t mean she had to do it right away. She worked to convince her it would be better not to rush or elope, but take the time to plan an actual wedding, and reminded her the judge hadn’t even set a visitation hearing yet. Nina implored her to listen, adding, “Making a rash decision is not going to help get your kids back.”
Willow acknowledged Nina may be right, but it was killing her not being around her kids, and marrying Drew may be the only way to get them back. Nina again encouraged her to take her time and told her she would love to give her the wedding she has always dreamed of. She told her to trust her, that waiting would be worth it in the end. Willow said she had already told Drew she would marry him, but she would think about the rest of the things Nina said.
Jordan walked up as Curtis was getting out of the pool. Jordan shared she was moving into a bigger place now that she was making more money working for Sidwell. They fondly reminisced about Jordan’s undercover work when they lived in Baltimore and the many life-or-death situations they found themselves in. They continued their walk down memory lane and acknowledged how far they had come when Portia and Isaiah walked in.
Curtis took a call from Trina, who asked him to come by the gallery. Portia assumed Curtis, her normally workaholic husband, took time off to go to the pool with Jordan. She felt they were behaving inappropriately. Isaiah said he was not impartial because he and Jordan used to date.
As Isaiah and Portia sat, she and Jordan exchanged death stares. Isaiah wanted to leave because staying was not going to help her relax. Portia, set on staying, was not happy that Curtis didn’t even notice she was there. She was glad he brought her there, saying you can’t fix your situation until you know exactly what you are dealing with.
Isaiah had to take a call, which gave Portia the opportunity to approach Jordan. Portia told her she must be completely exhausted after entertaining her husband all afternoon.
Sitting at the Metro Court courtyard restaurant, Carly questioned Michael about Daisy’s christening and her christening gown, but he was too distracted to answer properly. He expressed feeling like it was cruel to Willow to be happily planning a service, and it would be rubbing her face in everything.
Carly said he felt bad because he was a good man who didn’t want to see anyone suffer, but having a new beautiful baby girl was something to celebrate. Michael was still having a hard time getting past seeing Willow fall apart and reiterated he wanted Willow to be a part of Wylie and Amelia’s lives as soon as she was healthy, but the real problem was Drew.
Recounting everything that had happened, they were taken aback by how Drew could do everything he had. Carly said he no longer had a moral compass, but, at least for now, Willow was blind to it all. Michael said, “For now, but that’s going to change,” and left the table.
Carly tried to comfort Michael, who remained resolved to finding a way to get through to Willow and get her to walk away from Drew for good. He wanted Willow to be a part of their lives, but it was a non-negotiable for Drew not to be.
After Michael left, Nina approached Carly to talk. She told Carly she needed to get through to Michael because, if not, Willow was going to marry Drew. Carly told her she may not believe it, but she felt awful for Willow and saw how devastated she was in court. Nevertheless, if Willow decided to marry Drew, it was on Willow and not she and Michael.
Nina pleaded the case for something to be done because Drew was going to have too much time where he could potentially be a role model or a huge influence in the kids’ lives, and the only way to change that was if Michael compromised now, and Carly could help make that happen.
She wanted Michael to go to court as soon as possible to agree to a generous visitation schedule with just Willow, without allowing Drew to be there. Nina was adamant that if Willow could see the kids, she could pry her away from Drew. She felt Carly had the power to make Michael see it was in his best interest if he let Willow see her kids as soon as possible.
In the Q mansion solarium, Tracy updated Brook Lynn about her offer from Drew and her agreement to do the press conference. She wasn’t sure if she could go through with it, though. Brook Lynn felt the deal was a good trade-off, and she should probably swallow her pride and take the deal.
Tracy said she would “face the humiliation that comes with the deal I made with the devil.” She didn’t see the need for Brook Lynn to be publicly embarrassed as well, but Brook Lynn insisted on going with her and not letting her do it alone.
Later, Michael found Willow in the solarium. She said she was there to see him. As they talked, they agreed that they never wanted to go through an ugly court battle again and needed to be better to each other to set a good example for Wylie and Amelia. It looked like they were about to work to find common ground until Willow said she was going to marry Drew.
Kai came to the gallery to tell Trina he accepted Drew’s internship. He let her know he would not have to move to D.C., but Trina was still disappointed he took it. When Kai asked her to tell him how she honestly felt, she admitted she didn’t trust Drew and thought it would be a big mistake.
Frustrated, Kai acknowledged her parents’ issues with Drew, but asked if their grudge could stay between them and Drew. Trina adamantly stated her love for her parents and said what happened to the people she loved mattered to her. He said he got that, but Drew had been nothing but good to him. Trina still questioned Drew’s motives, but he felt Drew saw something in him and was giving him an amazing opportunity. He wanted to take the internship without it coming between them.
Kai insisted he wasn’t naive, could handle himself, and it was an amazing opportunity he was not going to pass up. He received a notification to leave for the press conference. Before he left, Trina gave him a kiss and told him, “I don’t have to agree with you to be on your side.”
Arriving from the Metro Court, Curtis hugged a distraught Trina who let him know about Kai accepting a position as Drew’s intern. Curtis did not want the tension between him and Drew to affect her relationship with Kai. She admitted she knew about him trying to find Jacinda, but didn’t understand how it would protect her mother. He told her it was complicated, but she needed to leave it alone. She couldn’t and wanted him to tell her what kind of trouble her mom was in.
At Drew’s congressional office, Martin was on the phone trying to make sure every detail of the upcoming press conference was right. Martin confidently assured Drew that Tracy had caved and that they had her right where they wanted her.
They were prematurely gloating, and Drew seemed to feel triumphant. He told Martin Willow agreed to marry him. Martin said he would offer his congratulations, but “as you know, matrimony and I are no longer speaking.” Drew said he and Willow were different, and he loved her with all of his heart. He was looking forward to making it official and to Willow sharing his last name, Quartermaine. Martin was smugly and jubilantly anticipating Tracy’s press conference and the fact that she had no other choice if she wanted to keep herself out of jail.
Chase was there to meet Brook Lynn and Tracy when they arrived for the press conference. Tracy had a bit of a devious look on her face when she said it was going to be torture, but she had been through worse. Martin walked up, smiling like the Cheshire cat and holding Tracy’s pre-written speech.
Before the press conference began, Martin spoke to the reporters who were approved to be there and told them Drew would address his Aunt Tracy’s drugging charges and that nothing was more important to Drew Quartermaine than “family, honesty, and loyalty”. To the side, Brook Lynn questioned Chase if she should stop Tracy from going through with it.
Gloating to Tracy, Drew told her it didn’t have to be this way, and had she just cooperated, they wouldn’t have any problems. Tracy said, “Look at you. So proud of yourself for winning. Just so you know, “gloat” is not a good color on you.” Drew responded that it wasn’t on her either, but she had worn it many times. With a smug smile, he said, “The shoe is on the other foot. I guess that’s proof that I’m a real Quartermaine.” After he walked off, Tracy quietly muttered, “Think again”.
Kai met an excited Drew in his office. Drew told him that once Tracy’s press conference was over, he could put the whole drugging incident behind him and they could move on to working on behalf of his constituents. This caused Kai to flashback to hearing Curtis talk about finding Jacinda and paying her off to say Drew hired her for sex and took the ketamine on purpose. Kai looked conflicted as to whether or not to say anything.
The live press conference started. Drew started with some strong, cutting remarks about Tracy before he introduced her. Tracy started to read a few “prepared remarks”. When she began to say Drew Quar-, she stopped, said she couldn’t do it, and she had to tell the truth. She told the press that he took the drugs, he planted them in his car, he was an embarrassment and disgrace to her family, and he destroyed his nephew’s marriage. She said the Congressman should be thrown out of his office, the same way his stepmother threw him out of the Quartermaine mansion.
