The Metro Court pool has made its first appearance of the summer! Trina, Kai, and Emma met at the pool for some relaxation time. Jossyln briefly joined the group before spotting Professor Dalton and saying she had to leave to work. Emma said to Trina, “I know that Joss is your friend and can do no wrong in your eyes, but your bestie sabotaged me and then stole a job that was practically mine for herself.” Trina defended Josslyn's integrity.

On the other side of the pool, Professor Henry Dalton had already been joined by Jenz Sidwell and Jordan Ashford. Jordan met Dalton for the first time, but it quickly became clear that Sidwell had known him for some time. Sidwell explained to Jordan that Dalton was doing cutting-edge work at the University and that his work was going to change the world. Sidwell has been funding Dalton’s research, for which he is very grateful. When Josslyn walked up to let the professor know she had submitted his grant proposal for him, he introduced her to his “good friend and colleague,” Jenz Sidwell, who then asked her to join them. Sidwell asked Jossyln how she was enjoying working for Dalton. Dalton sang her praises and said that he wasn’t surprised because of his rigorous screening process. He said that he had such a rigorous process because he needed to make sure that he could find people that he could trust with absolute certainty, and that he had learned that lesson the hard way. Later, Dalton revealed that he has been working on devising a process to develop a clean engine.

Eventually, Josslyn and Sidwell left, which gave Jordan a chance to chat with Dalton. He was evasive with his answers, saying,g “I don’t want my work subject to public scrutiny until it’s complete.” As Emma joined Kai and Trina in the pool, she looked back to exchange an ominous stare with the professor.

At the courthouse, everyone assembled outside the courtroom. Jason reminded Carly to keep her cool. She vowed to do whatever it took to get her grandchildren away from Willow, even if it meant having to be civil. Tracy walked straight to Drew, remarking, “Oh, Drew, I’m so sorry I’m fresh out of ketamine. You’ll have to hit up your local vet,” as she patted him on the shoulder and walked off.

After having overheard Drew tell Ric that they are counting on him to remind the judge that Michael is no altar boy, Diane stopped Michael and Jason before they headed into the courtroom to say that she was not going to put Jason on the stand because she was afraid that it could be used against Michael. Diane warned Jason to stay distant so he can’t be used against Michael in any way. Jason’s final advice to Michael: “It’s not about Willow. It’s about the kids, and you gotta keep them away from Drew. Don’t forget, you’re a great father and your kids need you.” Jason left to join Sonny at his house.

Before everything began, Ric stepped out to call Alexis to let her know that Kristina, her volatile and impulsive daughter, was on the list to testify. Ric was clearly worried that Kristina’s testimony would hurt his case and threatened that if she testified, it would not go well for her. Alexis went to the courthouse to get Kristina. “I’m getting you out of here before you get us both thrown in prison.”, Alexis said as she swooped Kristina away, and Dante looked on suspiciously.

Strong stares between the sides were exchanged as the trial began. Carly was first. She testified about the night of the Christmas party and Willow and Nina’s attempt to take the children without Michael’s knowledge that night. She testified that, when Michael did find out, he ended up agreeing to let the kids go that night. “It was heartbreaking for Michael, but he understood that Wiley and Amelia’s well-being came first.”, said Carly.

Chase went up next on the witness stand, where he had to admit that Willow wasn’t faithful to him. Ric was crossed by having Chase testify that she cheated with Michael, to which Diane reminded everyone that Willow was the one married to Chase.

At breaktime, Drew scolded Ric for not doing enough. Ric assured him not to worry, “Diane is just re-treading old territory, whereas we have new and compelling evidence to offer,” as he shot a knowing glance at Nina.

Dante informed Diane, Michael, and Carly that Kristina left with Alexis. Diane said they need someone to testify that Willow kept Michael’s family from him while he was in the burn unit. Michael said he knew who could testify. Later, it is revealed to be Jossyln when Carly texts her to be sure “to stay cool”.

On the stand, Ric has Dante testify about Michael’s involuntary manslaughter conviction for killing Claudia Zaccahra. Diane crossed with Dante explaining the circumstances.

Tracy Quartermaine took the stand. She claimed Michael to be “the future of the family” and cast Drew as jealous of everything Michael has. Ric used the kidnapping charges against Tracy to try to discredit her. When Tracy left, she told Diane, “I did my job. Make sure you do yours.”

Jossyln entered the courtroom to be next on the stand. She testified about Willow having used Michael’s medical proxy against his family. She held her cool while Ric tried to twist her words, but increasingly looked like she was going to have a hard time maintaining it. At the end, Carly whispered, “Come on, Josslyn, don’t take the bait.”

Earlier, at the Davis and Miller law office, Marco did his best to warn Alexis that the Dolos Fund looked like a shell corporation. Alexis tried to convince him that it was legit and everything would be fine. He offered to help her avoid personal risk if needed.

Later, Alexis returned to her office with Kristina who was clearly irritated by the situation. Frustrated, she asked Alexis, “So that’s how it’s going to be now? Ric says jump and you’re going to say how high?” Alexis quickly snapped back, “Kristina, you tried to kill someone. You almost killed two other people instead. So when that happens, you don’t get to be picky about how I cover it up. Okay?”

Before Dante went to the courthouse, he visited Sonny at his house, where he expressed regret for not having handled finding out Sonny was his father all those years ago. Now, in a similar situation, he lamented to Sonny about not knowing how to feel or what to do. Sonny said, “The important thing right now is that you have a son and he’s hurting.” He comforted Dante, telling him that he’s sure that he and Gio can work their way to each other. Dante left for the courthouse, but Sonny did not join him as it could potentially hurt Michael’s case.

Jason, who left the courthouse for the same reason, joined Sonny at his house. They discussed Michael and Gio. Sonny expressed that he did not agree with what Lois did but that he stands by their friendship. He said watching Gio smash his violin was hard because he felt like Gio was going to take his anger out on himself. Sonny knows what that is like and doesn’t want that for his grandson.

Lois, who had been kicked out by Brook Lynn at the Quartermaines, visited Sonny before heading back to Bensonhurst. She told Sonny that she’s worried about Gio because he doesn’t have anyone looking out for him. Sonny vowed to continue to watch over him.

The tensions in the Quartermaine kitchen were as high as they were in the courtroom. Gio showed up to face Lois, Gloria, and Brook Lynn. He let them know that he felt that, “This isn’t my home, and none of you are my family.”

Brook Lynn explained to Gio that she didn’t know Gio was her son, but that she did give him up for adoption. All Gio felt was that she didn’t want him. Gloria stuck to her guns that they did what was best for Gio, but Gio couldn’t get past the lie. It was also revealed that Lois and Gloria spoke with Camila in hospice, and perhaps convinced her that it was best not to tell Gio. They said that was not how it happened, and Camila was in agreement.

Apparently tired of feeling attacked, Lois sternly said, “You know what, Brook Lynn, if you had wanted to keep Gio, we wouldn’t have stopped you.” Gloria then followed with, “And Gio, if Camila had wanted to use her last breath to tell you the truth, we would have worked things out.”

In the end, Brook Lynn told Gloris and Lois to get out. She told Lois not to even bother to pack, that she would send her things to Bensonhurst. Gio looked at Brooklyn, said “ I get that they lied to the both of us, but the fact is none of you wanted me. The feeling is mutual,” and walked off.
