On Route 415, Lulu called 911 to report a wrecked truck with an unresponsive driver inside. Chase, the cops, and the paramedics arrived. Lulu told Chase she didn’t see the accident, but pulled over when she saw the car, which was still smoking at the time. She said she didn’t see any other vehicles or anyone fleeing the scene. Chase told her she did everything she could; the accident victim was on the way to the hospital, and all they could do was hope for the best.

Rocco and Charlotte ran into Emma at Bobbie’s. They were dejected after not being able to find Outback. Emma was trying to stay optimistic and told them about Sonny giving $50,000 for the reward. Emma got a call from Gio and left to meet him at the stables.

After she left, Rocco asked Charlotte if she thought he should have told Emma about Britt being alive. Charlotte felt Emma was already dealing with enough at the moment. Since Lulu told Charlotte she wouldn’t get in the way of her having a relationship with her father earlier, Charlotte encouraged Rocco to speak with their mom about getting to meet Britt. Rocco said he wasn’t sure that’s what he wanted.

Rocco said asking questions about Britt when she wasn’t around felt safe, but now that she was alive and well in Port Charles, it changed everything. He thought it made everything feel a lot more real.

Laura met with Anna and Dante at Anna’s PCPD office. Judge Heran’s murder case was transferred back to Anna, and Laura wanted to be briefed on the progress of solving her murder. Anna informed her that they had reason to believe Heran’s murder and Drew Cain’s shooting were related.

Heran’s body was found in the water off Pier 55, one of Sonny’s piers. Laura felt that finding the body there played into the Measure C proponents' narrative of Sonny being a magnet for criminal activity and violence. Thus, Anna hypothesized, leaving the body there could have been a deliberate choice.

Dante told Laura about the $1 million transfer to Judge Heran’s bank account and the evidence for it that was found in Drew’s safe. However, they couldn’t be certain the wire transfer actually came from Drew since Swiss banking laws didn’t let them identify the owner of the payer’s account. Anna said it gave them more questions than answers.

In the hospital, at one of the nurses’ stations, Lucas and Elizabeth complained about Britt. When Elizabeth went on the computer, she saw the death notice for Monica. Elizabeth talked about how welcoming and supportive Monica was after finding out Jake was her grandson. Monica actually commissioned Jake’s very first piece of art. Lucas said Monica was a legendary cardiologist and a brilliant surgeon. When he said it was a huge loss for GH and Port Charles, Elizabeth said, “There will never be another Monica Quartermaine.”

Danny went to see Drew in his hospital room. He told Drew that he still hadn’t been served his restraining order since his dad has been out of town and, therefore, wouldn’t be breaking the law if he saw Scout. Drew snarkily said finding ways to circumvent the law made Danny just like his father. Danny didn’t want to break the law or use some loophole, which is why he came to talk to Drew. Knowing Scout was scared and needed her family, he just wanted to help her.

Danny asked if he could see his little sister. Despite Danny being forthright and calm, Drew still said no. Danny tried to get him to understand that, by trying to hurt Jason and him, he was actually hurting Scout. Drew didn’t see it that way and said, ultimately, it was all Jason’s fault. He told Danny he did a lot of reckless things, and it was unfortunate that his father rubbed off on him the way he had.

Regardless of not agreeing with Drew, Danny went on to ask why Scout couldn’t, at least, see Rocco and the Quartermaines. Since Monica barred Drew from the estate, he said he wasn’t going to let his daughter go somewhere he couldn’t. Before he left, Danny told him that his mom wanted nothing more than for him, Rocco, and Scout to stay together. He said, “She would hate that you're doing this. It would break her heart. I hope you can live with that.”

As Elizabeth called Jake to share the bad news, Danny walked up and overheard her. After Danny left, Elizabeth went in to see Drew. He immediately began to complain about Jason and Michael ruining everything and having Monica wrapped around their fingers. Elizabeth stopped him and told him about Monica passing away.

Anna and Dante arrived. They were headed to see Drew when the car accident victim was brought in by the paramedics. Seeing the stunned look on Lucas’ face, Anna and Dante walked over. The three stared in shock at the victim as they realized it was Nathan West.

In the Quartermaine gatehouse, Jason recalled the story Tracy told him about Monica bonding with him as a son after taking care of him as a sick baby. Michael arrived, and Jason shared the sad news of Monica’s death. Michael recounted the sweet visit Wiley had with Monica that morning. He was upset because having to deal with Willow led him to miss his own daily morning visit with Monica. Jason did his best to comfort and assure him that Monica knew how much he loved her.

Michael hated the thought of Monica being alone when she passed, but Jason said he thought it happened when she was asleep. “When I walked into the room,” Jason said, “the air - it just felt different. Like her energy and spirit were just…were just gone.” He said he held her hand as he sat with her for a while, and she looked at peace.

Jason shared that he had many regrets when it came to the Quartermaines, one of the biggest being that he kept Michael from them for so long. Michael said he may not have grown up with his grandmother, but getting to know her as a teenager was really special, and they had a strong bond. He said they talked all the time and let Jason know how much it meant to Monica that he and Danny moved in. “No matter what happened in the past,” Michael said, “I know Monica had nothing but love in her heart for you.”

Michael left for the main house, but Jason stayed behind. As he sat, he said, “I’ll miss you, Mom. I love you.” After leaving the hospital, Danny found his dad in the gatehouse. In silence, Danny sat next to his father and put his arm around him as they both wept.

In the living room at the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy stunned Ned and Brook Lynn by telling them Monica had died. They talked as they processed their new reality. Tracy vowed that she would take care of everyone Monica loved, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She bemoaned the many loved ones she’d lost: “Daddy, mother, Alan, my Luke, now Monica.” She questioned what she was going to do without Monica.

Ned wanted Tracy to know how much he loved her. He said none of them knew how much time they had in life, and every second was precious. He knew their journey hadn’t always been easy, but said he cherished it and was so grateful to have Tracy as his mother. The three of them expressed their gratitude and love for each other.

Brook Lynn offered to help in any way she could. Tracy said their next step was to deal with the funeral home. She knew Monica would be placed in the family crypt, but didn’t know whether she wanted to be cremated or not.

Ned was still in shock. He recalled how resilient Monica had always been, including fighting through breast cancer, and assumed she would recover from her latest struggles. Brook Lynn felt Monica was their rock and said it was hard to imagine the family without her. Michael came in from the gatehouse.

Michael hugged Tracy and thanked her for everything she did for Monica and for how she took care of her. He told her that she was Monica’s best friend and Monica loved her. Tracy said they developed a mutual appreciation over the years, but was honest about feeling Monica wasn’t worthy of the Quartermaine name for a long time. She admitted to being wrong, though, and said Monica was the foundation of the family. She went on to tell Michael that he was Monica’s pride and joy and, surprisingly, said it was fitting that it should all be his now.

At the Quartermaine stables, Cody was talking to Outback when Molly returned. She searched for missing dogs on her phone and found Outback’s owners. Molly was excited, but Cody was bummed and didn’t want to call the owners. Not wanting to give her up, Cody rationalized with various explanations as to how Outback got away and wasn’t safe to go back. As Molly was being the voice of reason, Gio arrived.

Gio told Cody and Molly about Outback and asked Cody to keep an eye out. Cody knew giving Outback back was the right thing to do. Gio offered the reward, but Cody declined and said he should donate the money to an animal shelter. Molly was impressed.

Gio called Emma to meet him at the Q stables. Before Molly left, she commended Cody for doing the right thing. Emma arrived and was overjoyed to see Outback. As she and Gio petted her, they leaned in and kissed each other for the first time.
