What happened on General Hospital

At the Ashford house, Curtis went back inside after Portia left. Trina said she didn’t eavesdrop on their argument but could tell her mom was upset the moment she heard he was with Jordan on the night of the shooting. As they talked, Curtis explained that Jordan wasn’t the reason for the strain between him and Portia. He said their problems already existed, and dealing with Drew just brought them to the surface. He assured Trina that, no matter what happened between Portia and him, he would always love Trina and have respect for Portia as her mother.
Later, Marshall sat with Curtis to talk. He wasn’t sure what worried him more…Curtis being a suspect in Drew’s shooting or watching his marriage and family fall apart. Curtis said Drew’s shooting was the last straw that led to his marriage falling apart. He hated to say it, but Curtis told Marshall he couldn’t trust his wife. He said every time they tried to start fresh, they’d hit another wall. Marshall felt it was brave of both of them to acknowledge the reality of the situation.
Curtis felt that he and Portia wanted to call it quits, but he didn’t want to while the investigation was ongoing. He feared Portia would also become a suspect if the cops knew they were splitting up. Marshall questioned whether Curtis thought Portia could be guilty of shooting Drew.
Trina went to see Jordan at her apartment to talk about her fear of her parents splitting up. When they sat to talk, Trina told her about Dante coming to the house to question her dad about the night of the shooting, and her mom hearing that he was with Jordan. Jordan let Trina know that she ran into Portia at the hospital, who made it clear things were strained between her and Curtis.
Trina said Curtis insisted Jordan was not an issue in their marriage, but questioned if it was actually true. Jordan said she respected her parents’ relationship, that she had not pursued her father, and he had not pursued her.
Trina felt it was important for her parents to stay together because she was trying to keep them out of prison. She was worried the police would have more motive to look in their direction if they broke up. Jordan reminded Trina that it was not her responsibility to fix things for them. Trina felt she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing, but that was exactly what Jordan said she should do. She told her, not only was it possible for her parents to be suspects, but it was also possible she could be considered a suspect too if they thought there was a motive there. She cautioned her to stay far, far away from that shooting.
At the hospital, Nina was holding Nathan’s hand when he woke up. Disoriented, he asked what happened. Nina said she’d tell him everything she could, but needed to get the doctor first. She told Anna the news when she walked out of the room.
A bit later, Dr. Gannon came out of the room after examining Nathan. He said the patient was alert but was being treated for a concussion. Isaiah also said there was a scar on his chest, likely from a gunshot wound, but said there was no evidence of lasting trauma from that or the vehicle collision. Nina and Anna looked as if they assumed the scar from the gunshot wound was from when Nathan was shot by his father, Faison.
Nina and Anna rushed back into the room. Nathan greeted Anna by name. He wanted to know what happened, but first, Anna needed to know what the last thing he remembered was. Nathan said the last thing he remembered was being shot by Cesar Faison. He was shocked to see a scar where he thought a fresh wound would be.
Nina and Anna confirmed he was shot, but Anna stunned him when she told him it happened seven years ago. When he asked if he’d been in a coma, Nina had to tell him that everyone thought he was dead and they’d even had a funeral. Still confused as to what happened, Nathan asked if Maxie didn’t know he was alive.
They took a step back and reviewed the facts they knew. Nathan realized he appeared out of nowhere and was missing seven years of his life. He wanted to see Maxie and asked where she was. They explained about Maxie collapsing and being in a coma. He then asked about the child they’d been expecting. Nina told him that the baby was named after him and was now a wonderful, adventurous little boy.
Still angry from her argument with Curtis, Portia arrived at the hospital and ran into Jordan at the elevators. She told Jordan that if she was looking for Curtis, he was at his house, which was no longer her home anymore. Jordan didn’t want to be a part of their situation, nor want any trouble with either of them.
Portia surprised Jordan when she said she owed her an apology. She said she “laid the friction” between her and Curtis at Jordan’s door, which wasn’t fair or right. Before walking off, Portia told Jordan that her marriage was over.
Isaiah met with Portia in her office. She’d reconsidered the idea of the two of them having a future together and wanted to see if he felt the same. Isaiah wanted to be sure her marriage was over before they explored the possibility of being together. Portia tried to assure him that she wasn’t playing games with him, but he asked for some time to think about everything.
Isaiah said he loved working at the hospital and didn’t want to do anything to risk losing his job there. Portia felt the time they were together was amazing and said she wanted more. If they were to get together, Isaiah said they would need to keep everything completely off the radar. He’d been hurt before and was adamant about not getting hurt again.
At the Quartermaine stables, Felicia was at the door listening while James talked to Cody about his father. Not long after Felicia came in, Cody could tell she was upset. He asked James to go fill up the Oats for the horses so he could talk with Felicia.
Felicia told Cody about the possibility of Nathan being alive. Still reeling from the shock, she explained that James wasn’t even born when his father was supposedly killed, and didn’t know what to do since Maxie wasn’t there. Cody remained a calm presence for Felicia and assured her that they would take things one step at a time. She was worried about the possibility of James being hurt, scared, or confused. Cody said the “confused” part would be unavoidable, but he would make sure the rest was taken care of.
When James came back, they talked about the different things he wanted Cody to teach him how to do when riding horses. Before leaving, James told Cody that sometimes he wished he were his dad.
Ned and Brook Lynn were on the Quartermaine jet, headed to find Tracy, whom they thought was at a casino in Atlantic City. Ned decided to tell Brook Lynn about the affair he’d had with Monica, but she already knew. He felt the need to explain how it happened, claiming he didn’t know who Monica was or that she was married to his Uncle Alan. So as not to be creeped out, Brook Lynn begged him to stop talking.
Ned claimed, because of the affair, he was able to get to know Monica in a different way and considered her to be a “remarkable, dynamic, insanely brilliant woman.” He was worried he let her down, though, especially in the years when he went after AJ. Reflective, he was saddened to think about how much loss Monica had endured and didn’t want to lose sight of all the things he had to be thankful for. Ned took the moment to make sure Brook Lynn knew that being her father was the most important thing in the world to him, and he loved her endlessly.
Tracy was drowning her sorrows at a private blackjack table in the Leprechaun Casino in Atlantic City when Lois came to play at the same table. It didn’t take long for Tracy to figure out Ned sent Lois to find her. Tracy argued and insulted Lois, trying to get her to go away, but Lois stayed the course. She wanted to be sure Tracy realized that missing Monica’s funeral would be a whopper of a mistake, which she would surely regret.
Tracy claimed that Monica didn’t need her showing up at her funeral, nor did anyone else. When Ned arrived, Tracy told him his minion had stalled until he could get there. Lois offered her condolences to both Tracy and Ned. Before she left, Ned let Lois know that Brook Lynn was on the Boardwalk.
Tracy maintained Monica wouldn’t care if she was at the funeral, but Ned said Tracy would care if she wasn’t. She didn’t want anyone telling her what she wanted or where she should be. When he questioned why she didn’t want to be a part of honoring Monica, Tracy snapped and said she was sick of it. “I went to a funeral for my father. I went to a funeral for my mother. I went to a funeral for my brother. I went to two funerals for Luke, and let’s not forget about Gregory. I am done burying people I love”, she said.
When Ned asked if she’d thought she’d regret it, she exclaimed that she did not want to listen to yet another tribute to a life well lived. She wanted Monica back, and she wanted to be fighting with her, not burying her. She refused to “sit in a room and listen to platitudes about a wonderful woman who should still be here.” “She’s dead. The End”, Tracy said.
Ned offered to stay and mourn with her at the Blackjack table, but felt, if she didn’t go pay tribute to the woman whose house she lived in, she would regret it, and he didn’t want her to have any regrets. She left it up to the cards. If she lost, she’d stay, but if she won, she’d go back with Ned.
Lois found Brook Lynn sitting on a bench on the Boardwalk. She offered to share her pink cotton candy. They sat and talked for a bit. Brook Lynn thanked her for coming to look for her granny. She told her that Lulu was the one who figured out where Tracy would be. Lulu had said it was Tracy and Luke’s go-to after some incident, which got him banned from the strip.
Lois was proud of Brook Lynn for working with Lulu. Brook Lynn said she didn’t know how long it would last, but both she and Lulu understood there were people who needed them right now. They had an amicable conversation where they talked about family, and Lois did her best to comfort Brook Lynn.
