It was a short General Hospital week as Thursday and Friday’s episodes were preempted by a re-run and an ABC sports presentations. Instead of sending those of us who record the show on cable into the past with a classic episode, like, say, Luke battling Mikkos Cassadine to save the world, it was one from Lucky’s recent return. That’s no fun. We just saw that. ABC needs to start giving us the ability to watch classic episodes, even if they just toss them on when they can’t air a new one. I’ll step off my sopa box now. Yes, I probably should have saved that for ‘Things I Yelled at the TV’ later, but I couldn’t help myself.
Anyway, some fun things did happen this week, so let’s get down to it.
Spotlight scenes

Once again, Nina and Willow managed to bury the hatchet. Liesl orchestrated a get-together between the two, and ultimately, they made up and agreed to a fresh start. They even hugged it out in the end. How long that lasts is anyone’s guess. Honestly, I’ve seen grocery-store rotisserie chickens last longer than their truces.
Verbal knockouts

Carly told Jack that she couldn’t understand why Joss was supporting Lucas' move to Wyndemere. Jack speculated that perhaps Joss just wanted her uncle to be happy, but Carly retorted, “I want him to be happy! But the path to happiness does not run through Wyndemere.”
Wardrobe MVPs

Ava is dressed in a deep burgundy power suit that hits every classic Cassadine-adjacent note without losing her signature gallery-owner polish. The blazer is sharply tailored with a defined waist and structured shoulders, paired with a matching long, silky skirt that moves beautifully when she walks. Underneath, she wears a hint of black lace peeking through the neckline — subtle but unmistakably Ava. Her accessories stay bold but clean: a chunky gold chain necklace and simple stud earrings. The whole look is rich, dramatic, and impeccably coordinated — the exact mix of luxe danger and refined elegance that only Ava Jerome can pull off in the middle of a workday at her gallery.
Best camera moment

The skulkers are at it again. This time, it was Michael lurking in the background, watching Willow show Liz her engagement ring (which was Lila’s!) and asking her to be her maid of honor. While it was tough watching Michael have to absorb the scene, it was clearly even harder for him. He’s been good about putting his kids first and trying to keep them away from Drew (and Willow’s) unhinged influence. They did a nice rack shot, which was basically Willow’s hand in focus in the foreground, and then it went out of focus so we could clearly see Michael in the background. A very well done camera moment.
Observations, complaints & unhinged theories

Joss and Vaughn were in bed together, and she was griping about having to use Lucas to get to Sidwell. She worried that the WSB would constantly be putting her family in danger to achieve its goals, and Vaughn said he knew how she felt “all too well.” That sounds like a hint that we might start to get to know his backstory. We only got a smidge of Dex’s history before he was wiped out. Although Jack had Vaughn taken away for breaking the Bureau’s ridiculous rule that agents can’t have romantic relationships (look how that turned out for Robert and Anna!), hopefully, he won’t be killed off, and we’ll get to know more about him in the future.
Besides, he resembles Jack Wagner, and it would be cool if it turned out that Frisco is his dad!
Elsewhere, Nathan told Dante that Professor Dalton has the resources to disappear. Did he know about Dalton’s fate and was trying to throw the cops off his scent? Or is whatever happened to Nathan buried in his mind and he was genuinely speculating? The jury’s still out on him, but I’m sure many fans are biting their nails, hoping that he doesn’t turn out to be evil. In Tuesday’s episode, Sidwell mentioned to someone that he had “eyes and ears everywhere.” Could Nathan be part of that?
Things I yelled at the TV

So, take a look at the above image and see if you notice anything odd. Eagle-eyed viewers will not only spot the photo of Drew and Willow on the mantle in the background, but they’ll see that the pic has a ridiculous amount of headroom in it. Perhaps Wiley took the pic because he’s so short, he might not notice the huge space above their heads. But in this day and age, any pic can be made to fit nearly any size. I was irritating my wife by going on and on about it. I’m sorry, but even out of focus, that’s a terrible photo, and I can’t see why anyone would want to frame it without properly cropping it. Well, I guess Willow and Drew are both unhinged enough not to even notice.
I yelled at the TV for Drew being such a jerk. There were many other, more colorful metaphors that I used in my home, but I won’t write them here. I’m sure they’ve crossed most viewers' minds as we collectively scratch our heads and wonder how Drew could have gone so far off the rails. I swear, even the houseplants turned their leaves away like, “We don’t need to see this.”
And I started getting worried when Ava was telling Portia that Nina blabbed about Drew’s blackmail. I was literally like, “Ava! What are you doing?” In the end, I suppose it was the right thing to do on Ava’s part to keep her friendship with Portia. But all this backstabbing and tattling on each other is not going to end well if it keeps up. But sure, nothing says “healthy relationships” like casually detonating each other’s lives before lunch.
EPILOGUE
And that’s Port Charles for you — a place where secrets travel faster than Metro Court room service, and everyone swears they’re done with drama until the next commercial break proves otherwise. See you next time, when someone will absolutely make a decision I can yell at all over again. I’ll be here with popcorn in one hand and aspirin in the other.
General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
