General Hospital's Bluesy Burke reveals one of her favorite things about playing Charlotte

General Hospital's Charlotte Cassadine is center stage these days as part of the Port Charles teen scene. In September, Bluesy Burke debuted in the role originated by Scarlett Fernandez in 2016 and quickly made it her own. She has created a more mature Charlotte, but one with just as much spunk as the girl we watched grow with Valentin as her dad.

Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) quickly learned that Charlotte can manipulate and lie with the best of them, as she learned everything she knows from her super-spy international criminal father. However, Charlotte was willing to lie for a good cause when she thought it would ensure Rocco's (Finn Carr) freedom. Burke is enjoying that side of Charlotte, especially when she gets to throw a little attitude.

"I love it whenever I get to be sassy," Burke told Soap Opera Digest. "One of the first things I ever shot [at GH] was this one moment in Bobbie’s where I had to go up to [Jack Brennan] and say something that was not very nice. I was a little nervous for that one! But now I’ve given him sass a few times, and it’s fun!"

With Valentin now an escaped prisoner on the run in Port Charles, Charlotte is having more interactions with Jack, so she will have more chances to show him she is indeed Valentin's daughter.

The Luke and Laura legend

Burke has only worked with James Patrick Stuart once during scenes in which Charlotte visited her dad in prison. She was amazed when she saw him shed a tear in that scene, but there is another General Hospital vet she is working with more who has left people in awe.

When Burke first started telling people she'd landed a role on GH, all they could talk about was Luke and Laura, including her dad.

"When I told my dad that Laura is my [character’s] grandma, he was like, 'Oh, my God, Laura, like the Luke and Laura?!'" she said. "I’ve heard so much about how, back in the day, everyone would rush home from school to watch Luke and Laura’s wedding, how it was one of the most-viewed soap opera events ever. So, it’s really cool getting to work with such an icon. [Genie Francis] so giving, she’s super-professional … I’m looking forward to getting to learn a lot from her in the days to come."

With how fierce a protector Laura is of her children and grandchildren, we're sure we'll be seeing more Laura and Charlotte together soon.
