As Alison Rogers-Ramirez AKA the pop star Blaze on General Hospital, Jacqueline Grace Lopez enjoyed the chance to represent her heritage and the LGBTQIA community.
Even though she hasn’t been on General Hospital in several months, Lopez is keeping herself and Blaze visible as the Daytime Emmys approach.
Lopez is nominated as Outstanding Guest Performer for playing Blaze on General Hospital

Lopez was nominated for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series for her performance as Blaze in 2024. To celebrate the occasion, Lopez will be posting a series of videos on YouTube as she prepares for the Emmy ceremony on October 17th.
She promoted it on Instagram, including a lot of emojis, saying, “I’m doing a thing! Join me over on YouTube as I share my road to the Daytime Emmys. You only get nominated for the first time once, and legit, this is not going as expected. A few pitfalls but a ton of love . One thing is for sure: this is one ride I won’t forget. Let’s goooo!”
In the video part of the post, Lopez said she wants to go beyond the glitz and glamour of preparing for the show. She said, in part, “Whenever I've thought of the prestigious acting award shows, part of that allure was this idea that when you're nominated, it's a very joyful and effortless process…Part of my goal as a creative person is to help people feel seen. And this role was the complete amalgamation of that. Not only was I a brown body existing in that space and getting to represent Latinas and filipina bodies, but my character was also part of the LGBTQIA community for storyline. And that was a huge privilege. I figured that there's a relatability that can be paid here, that I don't think people would see, because I think people have seen exactly what I've seen, which is the amazing red carpet treatment and the amazing clothes and gowns… Rather than show you the glitz and glamour because you can see that, I'm gonna show you what it's like for someone like you who gets an award show nomination, red carpet, and potentially wins it.”
A lot of fans committed that they miss her on General Hospital.
She posted the first one on September 4th. In it, she talks about the challenge she has had balancing the Emmys, especially getting glammed up to look her best, with all her other responsibilities. Lopez said that in addition to getting ready for the red carpet, she is auditioning for acting jobs, she has a regular day job, and is going back to school as well.
In the Guest Performer category, Lopez is up against reigning winner Alley Mills (General Hospital), Avery Kristen Pohl (General Hospital), Linden Ashby and Valarie Pettiford from The Young and the Restless, and Clint Howard from The Bold and the Beautiful.
In 2024, Lopez played Blaze as she supported Kristina (Kate Mansi) during her pregnancy, the eventual loss of baby Irene after Kristina’s fall into the Metro Court Pool, and the couple’s breakup. She also had a conflict with her mother, Natalia (Eva LaRue). Alison's brother Marco (Adrian Anchondo) has had a major part on General Hospital this year.
