At Kelly's, Sasha admitted that she had been looking for Cody, but he wasn't in the mood to hear any more false accusations. Sasha confessed that she had heard that Cody had been at the Home & Heart studio during her appearance. Cody tried to brush it off, but she revealed that she knew about his threat to streak on the set. Resigned, Cody confirmed that he'd been there, and he told her about catching the show's producer and production assistant playing a recording of a crying baby into Sasha's earpiece. He conceded that he'd quickly realized that Sasha had had things well in hand on her own, but he revealed that he'd had words with Haven.

Sasha felt bad that she had told Cody that she didn't trust him, but he assured her that he was used to it because no one had ever trusted him. Sasha apologized for having judged him too quickly, but Cody didn't blame her because Sasha had been defending her mother-in-law. The conversation turned to Gladys and his certainty that Gladys had framed him for stealing the expensive bracelet. Sasha conceded that she believed that Cody had been set up. "But not by Gladys," Sasha said.

Cody was relieved that Sasha no longer believed that he was a thief, but he was certain of Gladys' guilt. He hoped that one day, Sasha would see that he had been the one telling her the truth. Sasha remained silent as Cody stood and left.

At the Savoy, Selina greeted Gladys as she sat in a booth beside Gladys. Selina's bodyguard Zhou sat down on the other side of Gladys, blocking Gladys from leaving. Gladys decided to cut to the chase as she revealed that she had information for Selina that Gladys hoped would settle the debt. Gladys told Selina about the large sum of money that Gladys had seen Frank give to Dex, but Selina wasn't interested in how Sonny paid his employees. Gladys claimed there had been something "special" about the payment, and Gladys suspected that something big had happened for Sonny to spread that kind of wealth around.

Selina agreed the information was sufficient to knock $5,000 off the debt, but Selina wanted the rest of the $80,000. Gladys explained that she couldn't withdraw a large sum of money out of Sasha's account without arousing suspicion, so Gladys needed time to withdraw smaller increments over a period of time. Selina agreed to give Gladys until Selina returned from a trip to Singapore. However, Selina informed Gladys that there would be a 20% interest fee each week.

After Selina and Zhou walked away, Zhou stopped his boss in the hallway because he was curious why Selina had given Gladys a generous grace period. Selina smiled wickedly. She explained that Gladys would either have the money when Selina returned from visiting her mother, or Gladys would run away. Selina intended to pay Sonny a visit to settle the debt if Gladys didn't pay up.

Meanwhile, using her phone, Gladys completed the first transfer of money. Seconds later, her phone rang. It was Sasha calling with important news. "I set up a meeting with my doctor to discuss getting the guardianship lifted," Sasha said.

In Metro Court's restaurant, Drew and Carly approached the bar. He had wanted to spend time with Carly, but he had wanted to make certain they were close to the hospital in case Carly was needed. Drew suddenly worried that being at the hotel might be a painful reminder of what Carly had lost, but she assured him that it was fine. Pleased, Drew and Carly shared a tender kiss. After their drinks were served, Carly offered a toast to Drew because he always made her feel better.

Nearby, Gregory thanked Finn for joining him on short notice. Finn became distracted when he saw Tracy arrive, so he walked over and greeted his friend. Tracy was delighted to see Finn, and she apologized for not reaching out to him and letting him know that she was back in town. Tracy blamed it on family drama. When Gregory approached, Finn introduced his father to Tracy.

Gregory invited Tracy to join them, but she declined because she was meeting someone. Just then, Chase arrived. "There he is now," Tracy said. Finn was surprised, but Tracy reminded Finn that her granddaughter and Chase had history. Tracy promised to be in touch with Finn about a game of backgammon. After Tracy and Chase walked away, Gregory told his son that Tracy seemed nice.

At the bar, Tracy and Chase stopped to talk to Drew and Carly. Tracy admitted that she was surprised to see Drew and Carly out and about, but Drew reminded Tracy that the SEC hadn't hauled them to prison yet. "Despite Ned's best efforts," Drew added. "I'm sure justice will prevail. Have a nice night," Tracy said. After Tracy walked over to a table, Chase asked if Tracy was always like that. "Pretty much," Carly said.

After Chase joined Tracy at her table, Drew asked if Carly wanted to leave. "As much as I'd like to, we can't ignore the trouble we're in or what it means for us," Carly said. Carly admitted that she had told Bobbie about Diane's warning that the SEC would try to pit them against each other. Drew asked if Bobbie had advised Carly to take the deal, but Carly insisted that she would never consider it. Drew implored Carly to reconsider because he didn't want her going to jail.

Drew vowed that he would always protect Carly. Carly teared up because she realized that there might not be a way out for them. She acknowledged that both Michael and Josslyn were older and could handle the separation, but Carly worried about the impact on Donna and Avery if she went to prison. Drew promised that they would find a way to beat the charges, but Carly worried that it wasn't possible without them turning against each other. Drew explained that they would need to find the person who had tipped off the SEC.

Drew and Carly agreed that if Ned had called the SEC, Ned could fix things because Ned had amassed a large number of government contacts who owed Ned favors. Carly was curious how they could compel Ned to help them, so Drew suggested that they force Ned's hand by digging up dirt on someone close to Ned. Drew and Carly decided that Tracy would make the best target because Tracy had a reputation for finding trouble. Drew pointed out that they had nothing to lose. "Except our freedom. Let's get Tracy," Carly said.

Meanwhile, Tracy didn't mince words as she blasted Chase for hurting Brook Lynn. Tracy insisted that Brook Lynn had moved heaven and earth for Chase, and he had repaid Brook Lynn by breaking Brook Lynn's heart. Chase argued that it had been more complicated than that, but Tracy disagreed. She accused him of looking down from his high horse and harshly judging Brook Lynn instead of thanking his lucky stars that her granddaughter had given him the time of day. "Either forgive her and skip off into the sunset or cut her loose," Tracy said.

Tracy admitted that Brook Lynn was better off without Chase, and her granddaughter deserved someone worthy of the air that Brook Lynn breathed. Chase tried to defend himself, but Tracy's voice grew louder as she berated Chase.

Nearby, Gregory announced that he had bought plane tickets for himself, Finn, Violet, and Chase. Gregory wanted to take the family to Disney World. Finn was startled when Gregory revealed that the flights had been scheduled for the following week. Finn was certain that Violet would love the trip, but he reminded his father that it was short notice. He was curious that the urgency was, so Gregory claimed that he wanted to make memories while Violet was still young. Finn became distracted when he heard the raised voices from Tracy and Chase's table.

However, Finn's phone rang. After Finn stepped away to answer the call from the hospital, Gregory approached Tracy and Chase. "Is there a problem here?" Gregory asked. Tracy asked why it concerned Gregory, so he reminded her that Chase was his son. Gregory resented Tracy reading Chase the riot act, but Chase assured his father there was nothing to worry about. Tracy informed Gregory that she was fed up with Chase treating her granddaughter like dirt.

Tracy claimed that Brook Lynn had been blinded by Chase's physical attributes, but Gregory insisted that Tracy didn't know the first thing about Chase. Gregory sang his son's praises, and he assured Tracy that he was proud of his son. Tracy argued that Chase lacked the capacity to forgive, but Gregory informed her that he had taught his son not to value the opinions of "snobs." Finn returned and quickly intervened before things escalated between his father and Tracy.

After Finn led Tracy to an alcove, Chase assured his father that he'd had control of the situation, but Gregory was unapologetic. Gregory insisted that he would always protect his son. "As long as I'm able," Gregory said. Chase's expression turned troubled as Gregory hugged his son.

In the alcove, Finn asked Tracy why she'd been arguing with Chase. Tracy assured Finn that she had a high regard for Finn, but she was not a fan of his brother. Finn reminded Tracy that Chase and Brook Lynn were adults and old enough to work things out for themselves, but Tracy refused to sit on the sidelines while a member of her family was slighted. Tracy vowed to open Brook Lynn's eyes to who Chase really was.

In Nina's office at Crimson, Sonny hugged Nina, but he soon grew concerned because he sensed that she was troubled. Nina confessed that she had something to tell him. She admitted that she'd been thinking about Willow's request for her to make peace with Carly. "It's just the one thing I'll never be able to give her," Nina said. Sonny acknowledged that it was an uphill battle, but he urged Nina to keep trying. Nina insisted that she'd approached Carly twice, and both times, Nina had apologized and owned up to her actions. Nina admitted that she had even asked for Carly's help to make amends with Willow.

"And Carly said no?" Sonny asked. Nina told Sonny about her talk with Carly at the hospital, which had been cut short when Drew and Liesl had returned from Greenland. Nina also filled Sonny in about the visit to Carly's house, which Nina believed had been an opportunity for Carly to make Nina beg a little more before shooting Nina down. Sonny wanted to know if Carly had said that she would work against Nina. "She might as well have," Nina said.

Nina admitted that she had made mistakes, including when she had taken Michael and Willow to court for visitation with Wiley. "Here's the thing. As long as Carly supports Willow's decision to keep me out of her life, Willow will never reconsider," Nina said. Sonny empathized. Nina confessed that it meant the world to her that she had his support, so he assured her that she could always count on him. Sonny knew what being a mother meant to Nina, and he wanted both Nina and Willow to find a way forward.

"Shouldn't we do that together as a family?" Nina asked. Sonny told Nina about Michael's visit and how he and Michael had reached an understanding. Nina's hopes were quickly dashed when Sonny admitted that there had been one stipulation; it was Willow's decision if Nina was a part of Willow's life. Nina insisted that Michael and Carly were both reinforcing Willow's animosity toward her with their silence. Sonny promised that he wanted Nina and Willow to have a relationship, but he had agreed to Michael's terms. Nina appreciated that Sonny needed to remain neutral, but she questioned if he could trust Michael.

Sonny frowned. "You think Michael is lying?" Sonny asked. Nina advised Sonny to consider the possibility that Michael might string Sonny along, and that Michael had only reached out to Sonny because Willow had pushed Michael to do so. She warned him that Michael might not hold up his end of the bargain, but Sonny was certain that Michael had been sincere. Nina promised that she was happy for him, but she warned him that she would be excluded from the reunion.

Sonny was grateful for Nina's support, and he asked why she was so good to him. Nina returned his smile as she assured him that she loved him, and all she wanted was for him to be happy. However, she admitted that a part of her realized that her chance to be a part of a family was slipping away. Sonny disagreed, but Nina assured him that she would be careful with Willow because Nina didn't want to drive a wedge between Sonny and Michael.

Nina was certain that Sonny would get closer to his family. "All of whom have made it very clear there's no place for me," Nina said. Sonny promised that Nina would never be left out in the cold because she would always be a part of his life. Nina feared that the family tensions would put a strain on their relationship, but Sonny vowed not to let it happen. To Nina's surprise, Sonny suddenly proposed marriage to her.

In a conference room at the hospital, Josslyn confronted Michael about his decision not to use the incriminating video of Sonny that Dex had provided. Josslyn was furious because Michael had put Dex in an impossible situation. Josslyn insisted that if Michael had followed through on the original plan, Sonny would have gone to jail, and Dex would have been free to live his life without fear of retaliation. Michael reminded Josslyn that Dex had known the risks when Dex had accepted the job, but Josslyn argued that Michael had left Dex with no way out because Dex had been in Sonny's organization for too long and knew too much.

Michael pointed out that Dex could leave town, but Josslyn informed her brother that Dex had decided to stay. "Because of you?" Michael asked. "Partly," Josslyn said. Michael didn't believe her, so she conceded that she didn't want Dex to leave. Stunned, Michael asked how Josslyn could do that to Dex. He informed his sister that he had paid Dex a lot of money -- and Dex had earned a lot of money working for. Sonny -- so Dex had plenty of money to disappear to Canada and buy a new identity.

Michael reminded Josslyn that it was safe for Dex to disappear because Sonny wouldn't be looking for an informant, since Sonny hadn't been arrested. Josslyn was adamant that she didn't want Dex to leave town, but Michael insisted that it was too risky. Josslyn accused Michael of not caring about the danger to Dex. "You don't even see him as a real person," Josslyn said. Michael explained that he had hired Dex because Dex had been a hired gun without any ties to anyone.

Michael implored Josslyn to send Dex away, but she refused. "It's Dex's life. He can make his own decisions," Josslyn said. She insisted that the only way to salvage things was for Michael to send Sonny to jail, where Sonny belonged, but Michael admitted that he couldn't do that because he had made a promise to Willow. "Why would you involve Willow in this?" Josslyn asked. Michael told Josslyn about his conversation with Willow and how Willow had made him realize that sending Sonny to jail would hurt their younger sisters.

Josslyn argued that Sonny had wrecked lives, and danger surrounded him. She asked if Michael had talked to Willow about Morgan. He assured his sister that he had told his wife everything, and he refused to put Donna and Avery in a position where they felt torn between their love for their father and Michael. Josslyn was unmoved, but Michael warned Josslyn that Donna and Avery would resent Josslyn, too. Josslyn insisted there had to be a better solution than hanging Dex out to dry. Michael promised that he felt bad for Dex; however, Dex was a grown man, and no one had forced Dex to take the job.

Josslyn accused Michael of upending both her and Dex's lives, but Michael reminded Josslyn that she was in college and planned to become a doctor. "What kind of relationship do you think you can have with Dex long term?" Michael asked. Rather than answer the question, she argued that Dex could have been free if Michael had stuck to the plan. Michael warned Josslyn that she was kidding herself if she thought that she could make things work with Dex. "Isn't the kinder thing just to let him go?" Michael asked.

"I'll find a way out for both of us," Josslyn said. She grabbed her bag and stormed out.

At Volonino's Gym, Dex tried to make nice with Spencer by welcoming him home from Greenland. Spencer called Dex a "backstabbing traitor." Trina entered, and she scolded Spencer for not being nice to Dex. Spencer said that Dex and Josslyn wouldn't last. Trina said that opposites attracted, and she and Spencer kissed.

Josslyn entered, and she rushed to hug Spencer to welcome him home. Spencer left for the sauna. Trina asked why Josslyn had argued with Michael earlier. Josslyn said that Michael had disapproved of her relationship with Dex. Trina said she thought that nothing could break up Josslyn and Dex.

In the sauna at the gym, Dex was daydreaming of Josslyn when Spencer entered. Spencer and Dex argued about Josslyn. Dex said that Spencer had only known Josslyn as a kid. Spencer said that Josslyn would get tired of Dex, and he demeaned Dex's work in Sonny's organization. Dex shot back that Spencer was an "entitled punk."

Spencer tried to punch Dex. Moments later, Dex returned to the main room of the gym. Dex told Trina that Spencer was in the sauna. Dex and Josslyn left together. Spencer returned, and he revealed that Dex had blocked his punch before hitting Spencer. Trina was irate, and she chided Spencer for not getting along with Dex. Spencer said that he had tried to be nice to Dex but that it was impossible.

At Metro Court, Finn asked if Chase could truly forgive Brook Lynn and accept her for who she was. Chase said that his gut feeling was to fix things, and he said he needed Finn's help.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn struggled to find the words to write a new song. Ned entered, and he asked to take a look at the song. Ned surmised that things were bleak between Brook Lynn and Chase.

Tracy entered, and she noted that both Ned and Brook Lynn looked gloomy. Tracy called Chase an "ingrate," and she admitted to having told Chase that he wasn't good enough for Brook Lynn. Tracy asked why Brook Lynn would want to be with someone who was always judgmental, and she said that Brook Lynn was better off without Chase.

Just then, Tracy, Ned, and Brook Lynn heard the sound of one of Brook Lynn's songs from outside the mansion. Brook Lynn stepped outside, and she saw Chase lip-syncing one of her songs as Finn held a speaker nearby. Brook Lynn grew emotional.

Afterwards, as Tracy, Ned, and Finn looked on from the kitchen, Chase told Brook Lynn that he wanted the two of them to get back together. Chase said that he had a lot to make up for, but Brook Lynn interrupted when she kissed Chase.

Chase and Brook Lynn both gave impassioned speeches vowing their love for one another while apologizing for their respective mistakes. "Chase... shut up and kiss me," Brook Lynn said. Chase and Brook Lynn kissed.

Inside the mansion, Tracy took credit for Chase and Brook Lynn's reconciliation. Tracy said that her talk with Chase had been intended to provoke Chase to declare his feelings for Brook Lynn. Ned told Finn to never second-guess Tracy.

At Metro Court, Carly told Olivia that she hated Ned for turning her in to the SEC for having committed insider trading. Olivia said that she was "furious" at her husband for having turned Carly in. Carly grew upset when she realized that Olivia hadn't kicked Ned out of the Quartermaine mansion. Carly complained that she could go to prison. Olivia reminded Carly that Carly wasn't "entirely innocent."

Olivia referred to Ned's behavior as "disgusting," but she claimed she had worked too hard on her marriage to jeopardize it. Carly continued to blame Ned for her legal troubles, and she accused Olivia of turning a blind eye to what Ned had done. Olivia said she wouldn't ruin her marriage over Ned's business decisions. Olivia and Carly shared an awkward moment of silence before Olivia left to return to work.

At the Crimson office, Sonny stunned Nina when he asked her to marry him. Nina replied that she could not marry him. Sonny admitted that it was not the way that he wanted to propose to her. Nina said that Sonny was only trying to make her feel better, and she said she didn't want a "pity proposal." Nina questioned the timing, noting that Sonny's proposal came immediately after she'd expressed her fear that his family would come between them. Nina called the proposal "very kind."

Sonny objected to Nina's choice of words, stating, "Kindness is me making your favorite pasta dish for dinner." He swore that his proposal was genuine. Nina asked if Sonny had ever thought of proposing to her before. Sonny said he had, and he produced a large diamond ring.

"From the second I met you, I didn't know who I was. Didn't matter. Because I know what I felt, and I still do. You see things in me that other people don't see. I can be Sonny. I don't have to be the boss or the person who has to have his guards up. And when I was at the worst of my times..." Sonny said as his voice started to break.

"You were there. You stood up for me. No matter how much I pushed you away. So, when you started talking about your family, and they were slipping away, I didn't feel pity. I felt recognition, because I feel the same way. We are similar. We make mistakes, but we ask for forgiveness. And I know how hard that was for you, but I know why you did it. Because you are brave, and you're a fighter. And I want you to allow me to fight alongside with you.

"Will you be my partner for life? Because I can't imagine my life without you," Sonny continued as he dropped to one knee. "Nina Reeves, will you marry me?" Sonny asked. A tear ran down Nina's cheek, and she called Sonny her "rock" as she recalled the events of the past few months.

Nina said that she loved Sonny more than she could say. Sonny asked if Nina could say yes to his proposal. "Yes! Yes! Yes, I'll marry you! I can't wait to marry you!" Nina exclaimed as she rushed into Sonny's arms. The two held one another, and they kissed.

Sonny placed the ring on Nina's finger. Nina called Sonny "the man of my dreams," and she repeatedly exclaimed that the two of them were going to be married.

Later, Sonny and Nina were kissing in the elevator at Metro Court when the door opened. Olivia groused at Sonny and Nina. Nina said that she and Sonny were "the only two people in the entire world," and they kissed again.

Sonny and Nina sat down at a table. A waitress opened a bottle of Champagne for the couple. Just then, Carly walked by. Nina told the waitress that she and Sonny were engaged. Carly's eyes widened and her mouth fell open as she overheard the news.

At Alexis' house, Alexis sent Gregory a text message letting him know that she was there if he needed to talk. Moments later, Sam arrived. Sam explained that she had stopped by a little early to talk to her mother before Kristina arrived. Alexis took the opportunity to let Sam know that she had reached out to Gregory. Sam was pleased, but she admitted that she wanted to talk about her sister. Alexis confessed that she was worried about Molly, too.

"Wait. Not that sister. What's going on with Molly?" Sam asked. Alexis explained that it wasn't her place to tell Sam, but she was confident that Molly would talk to Sam soon. However, Alexis promised that it was not a life-threatening matter. Relieved, Sam revealed that she had wanted to talk about Kristina's new foundation. Sam applauded the plans for a shelter to help LGBTQ+ kids in need, but Sam believed that Kristina needed some guidance. "Who doesn't?" Alexis asked.

Just then, Kristina arrived, and she was eager to share her plans for the Corinthos-Davis House. After all three women sat down in the dining room, Kristina unfolded the building's blueprints and talked about her plans for the contractor to knock out walls. Concerned, Sam asked if Kristina had consulted an architect, but Kristina was dismissive because she didn't think it was necessary. "This is my chance to really make a difference," Kristina said. Kristina admitted that it meant a lot to her to have her family's support -- especially Alexis'.

Sam remained silent as Kristina talked about her hopes that the shelter would be a safe space. When Kristina resumed discussing her construction plans, Sam pointed out that it sounded like major renovations. Kristina disagreed because most of the changes were cosmetic. Sam shifted gears because she was curious if Kristina had started to fundraise, but Kristina argued that she needed something to show investors before she could ask for money. Frustrated, Sam looked to her mother for help.

"I trust her," Alexis said. Satisfied, Kristina pulled out a photograph of the shelter's new logo. Alexis loved it, but Sam said nothing. "What now?" Kristina asked. Sam suggested that it had been premature to hire a graphic designer, but Kristina argued that she needed the logo for the website. Sam countered that Kristina should have hired an accountant and registered as a nonprofit. Annoyed, Kristina asked what Sam's problem was.

"Do you not believe in this project -- or is it me you don't believe in?" Kristina asked. Sam promised that she wanted Kristina to succeed, but Sam worried that Kristina was not prepared for all the hoops that Kristina would need to jump through. Sam pointed out that many of the kids who would turn to the shelter would be traumatized and exploited, so Kristina needed to focus on hiring a professional to help them instead of worrying about paint colors. Kristina assured Sam that she would get there, but Sam questioned Kristina's priorities. Sam turned to her mother for backup, but Alexis insisted that she had faith in Kristina.

Sam was skeptical because Kristina had a habit of walking away when one of Kristina's ideas didn't work out as Kristina had planned. Sam blamed Kristina's inability to follow through with things. Hurt, Kristina accused Sam of not wanting her to succeed. Sam and Kristina traded words until Kristina's phone rang. It was the contractor.

After Kristina left the room to take the call, Alexis conceded that Sam had been right, but Alexis feared that Sam had been too hard on Kristina. Sam was unapologetic because Kristina was an adult, and she needed to know what she was getting into. Sam was curious why Alexis hadn't spoken up, so Alexis reminded Sam that Kristina had stopped talking to Alexis the last time that Alexis had raised concerns about Kristina's career choices. Alexis decided that she might as well have faith, since she had no idea what the future held. Later, Sam admitted that Alexis' support had been important to Kristina, and Sam was hopeful that the extra boost of confidence would help Kristina pull things off. "Stanger things have happened," Alexis said.

At T.J. and Molly's apartment, T.J. entered the living room and saw Molly preparing to leave for work. She apologized for being loud because she hadn't meant to wake him. Concerned because she had gotten in late the previous evening, he suggested that she take the day off. Molly snapped at him that she wasn't sick. "God knows, I'm not pregnant, and I never will be," Molly added. T.J. pointed out that he and Molly had never been conventional people, but Molly made it clear that she wasn't ready to discuss their options because she felt overwhelmed by everything.

T.J. respected Molly's wishes, and he steered the conversation to what had been troubling him about Molly's diagnosis. He asked about the pain that she had been experiencing, and he wanted to know if sexual intercourse had hurt. "Sometimes -- not all the time," Molly said. Surprised, T.J. asked why she hadn't told him, but Molly turned defensive. "I was dealing with it," Molly said. She assured him that she had enjoyed their emotional intimacy and being held in his arms, but T.J. wanted to know why she hadn't said anything to him.

Molly explained that she hadn't realized that something had been wrong. T.J. couldn't understand why Molly hadn't talked to a doctor about her symptoms because she was not the type to be casual about her health. Frustrated, Molly admitted that she felt guilty enough without having him pile on. Molly tearfully admitted that she regretted not getting examined because she had let T.J. down, but T.J. insisted that his only concern had been the pain that Molly had endured in silence. He reminded Molly that they were in it together, but she argued that it was different for a woman.

"I so wanted to be able to give you this gift," Molly said. She explained that she needed time to accept that she wouldn't be able to give him children. T.J. was desperate to help Molly, but she insisted that she needed to get to work and rushed out the door. Later, T.J. left a voicemail message for Molly. He told her that he was sorry for everything, especially that she had felt alone in her struggle. T.J. assured Molly that he loved her, and he would always be there for her.

At Sonny's penthouse, Sonny and Nina enjoyed their morning coffee and talked about their engagement. Nina assured Sonny that she loved her engagement ring, and everything had been perfect. "But, even better, you're all mine," Nina said. Sonny smiled as Nina leaned in to kiss him.

Later, Nina realized that she and Sonny would soon have to share their engagement news. She worried that it might not have been wise to celebrate their engagement publicly the previous evening, but Sonny insisted that they had nothing to hide. Nina agreed, but she warned him that they would have to face the fact that not everyone would be happy about their news. Sonny told her that he didn't care what people thought.

Moments later, Sonny and Nina heard a knock at the door. Sonny realized that it was Ava and Avery, so he told Nina that he didn't want Avery to know about the engagement until he'd had a chance to tell Ava. Nina agreed to respect his wishes, and she turned the engagement ring to make certain the large diamond was not visible. After Sonny greeted Ava and Avery, Avery ran over to hug Nina. However, Avery quickly spotted the ring, and she questioned Nina about it. Ava's eyes rounded with surprise when she saw the large diamond.

Sonny sat Avery down to share the news of his engagement to Nina. Delighted, Avery asked if she could be a flower girl at the wedding. Nina was touched. "Avery, I can hardly wait to be a part of your family," Nina said. After Avery went to her bedroom to play on an electronic tablet, Sonny assured Ava that he had intended to tell Ava before talking to Avery. Ava congratulated Nina and Sonny, but she was curious if Carly knew about the engagement. Ava reminded Sonny that Avery would share the news with everyone.

Sonny realized that Ava had a point, so he decided to head over to Carly's place. After Sonny left, Nina invited Ava to speak her mind. Ava assured Nina that she was happy for Nina, but Nina wanted the truth. "Do you?" Ava asked. Ava admitted that Nina's relationship with Sonny had been a ticking time bomb ever since Nina had tipped off the SEC. "Why shouldn't Carly pay?" Nina asked.

Ava reminded Nina that Sonny and Carly had spent decades together, while Nina and Sonny had only been together for two years. Nina insisted that it shouldn't matter. "But it does," Ava said. Ava admitted that there was no easy way out for Nina because Nina would lose Sonny for good if Nina were honest, so it was best for Nina to remain silent. Nina realized that Ava was right because Nina's "stupid, impulsive decision" had laid the seeds for Nina to lose both Sonny and Willow. "It's time for the gloves to come off," Nina said.

At Carly's house, Carly invited Diane into the kitchen. As they chatted about Diane's evening, Carly handed Diane a cup of coffee. Grateful, Diane took a sip and asked what had been going on with Carly. When Carly revealed that Sonny and Nina were engaged, Diane briefly choked on her coffee. Carly acknowledged that she wasn't thrilled about the news, but she assured Diane that her heart wasn't shattered. "I'm even happy that he's happy," Carly said.

Diane suspected that Carly wished that Sonny had found happiness with anyone except Nina. "It's Nina," Carly said in a tone filled with disdain. Carly explained that Nina had devastated Carly's family, but the engagement meant that Nina would be positioned close to Carly's loved ones. "It's appalling to me," Carly said. However, Carly knew that she had to find a way to live with it. Diane admitted that she didn't think Nina was prepared for life with Sonny.

Carly confessed that she didn't have the energy to unpack Nina. "Fair enough," Diane said. Diane decided to get down to business by discussing Carly's legal troubles. She warned Carly that Carly's options were limited, and Carly wouldn't like any of them. Carly explained that she had bought stock in Aurora Media to help Michael, and it had never been her intention to commit insider trading. Carly admitted that it was ironic that both Drew and Michael had urged her not to invest.

Diane assured Carly that Michael was not part of the investigation because he didn't own stock in Aurora Media. Carly felt awful for dragging Drew into her mess. Diane believed Carly, but Diane explained that the SEC wouldn't care because Carly had acted on information that the public hadn't been privy to. Diane warned Carly that both Carly and Drew were guilty of the charges.

Diane explained that Drew could claim that Carly had acted without his knowledge, and he hadn't been the one to share the information about the merger with Carly. "So, in other words, lie," Carly said. Diane pointed out that Carly could say that Drew had approached her with a request to buy stock, but he hadn't told her about the merger. Carly was adamant that she and Drew would not turn against each other. Diane admitted that the SEC was more interested in Drew than in Carly, but there was someone more high profile than Drew. "Sonny Corinthos," Diane said.

Diane pointed out that Carly knew where all the bodies were buried, so handing Sonny over to the Justice Department might be Carly's ticket to freedom, but Carly refused to consider it. "Even though he's marrying a woman you can't sand?" Diane asked. Carly made it clear that she would never turn on Sonny under any circumstances. Satisfied, Diane explained that she had to make certain that Carly understood the parameters. Carly suggested that Diane focus on Carly's other options instead.

"You have none," Diane said. Diane feared that Carly would end up holding the bag. Carly assured Diane that she intended to fight the charges, but at the end of the day it was Carly's mess, and Carly was prepared to pay for it if she had to. Shortly after Diane left, Sonny knocked on the kitchen door.

At Volonino's gym, Curtis was working out, but his mind was on his encounter with Jordan at the Savoy when she had asked him where he stood with Portia. "Are you on the rebound or are you and Portia really over, and if so, do we get a second chance?" Jordan asked. Curtis pushed the memory away when Drew called out to him. After the two men exchanged a greeting, Drew asked if Curtis was okay. Curtis assured Drew that he was fine, but Curtis was curious if things were okay between him and Drew.

Curtis admitted that he had heard about Drew's relationship with Carly, and Curtis recalled saying some "not so nice things" about Carly's lies to Nina. Drew assured Curtis that he appreciated Curtis' honesty, and Drew was glad that he could count on his friend to always speak his mind. Satisfied, Curtis asked about Drew's trouble with the SEC. Drew explained that he was certain that Ned had tipped off the SEC. Curtis was surprised, but Drew wondered who else it could have been. Drew revealed that the SEC had a strong case, and they weren't interested in cutting any deals.

Drew confided to Curtis that Ned had the power to stop the investigation, but Curtis thought it was unlikely, since Ned had been the one to tip off the SEC. Drew agreed, so he revealed that he needed to force Ned's hand by digging up dirt on someone close to Ned. Drew filled Curtis in about the plan to go after Tracy. Curtis offered to help, but Drew refused to involve Curtis. Drew asked about Trina, so Curtis revealed that Trina had taken the DNA test, and they would have an answer soon.

The conversation turned to Curtis and Portia. Curtis admitted that nothing had changed, but his time in Greenland had made him reevaluate things. "Such as?" Drew asked. "If I should have ended my marriage -- to Jordan," Curtis said. Curtis confessed that Jordan had recently told him that she still had feelings for him, which had made him question if he might have given up on his marriage too soon. Drew advised Curtis to talk to Portia, but Curtis insisted that he owed Portia nothing, since she had lied to him.

Drew pointed out that Curtis feared that he might have ended his marriage to his ex-wife too quickly. "Isn't it possible you're about to make the same mistake with Portia?" Drew asked. Curtis explained that he couldn't get past Portia's dishonestly, but Drew was curious if Curtis had ever given Portia a chance. Curtis conceded that he had spent very little time with Portia. Drew promised to stand by Curtis regardless, but he wondered if Curtis still loved Portia.

Curtis explained that it didn't matter because love couldn't change what Portia had done. "But it does affect your capacity to forgive," Drew said. To Drew's surprise, Curtis admitted that Drew had helped him.

At the hospital, Jordan waited for the elevator as her thoughts drifted to the passionate kiss that she and Curtis had shared. Moments later, Portia walked up and asked to have a private word with Jordan. Portia wanted to thank Jordan for helping Trina and for Jordan always going above and beyond for Portia's family. Portia apologized for how she had treated Jordan, but Jordan insisted that Portia had nothing to be sorry for.

Portia disagreed because Jordan had urged Portia to be honest with Curtis, but Portia had accused Jordan of trying to break up Portia and Curtis. Jordan admitted that she shouldn't have interfered, but Portia was glad that Jordan had. Portia acknowledged that her life was in shambles, but the truth was out. Portia was tempted to ask Jordan what to do next, but Jordan had no idea what Portia was talking about. "If you were me, how would you save my marriage?" Portia asked. Portia immediately realized that it was unfair to ask Jordan, and she apologized.

Portia started to walk away, but Jordan asked Portia to wait. Jordan refused to offer advice about Curtis, but Trina was another matter because Jordan had been in the same situation with T.J. "Focus on forgiving yourself," Jordan said. Jordan reminded Portia that mothers were human, and they made mistakes. Jordan was certain that Trina would see that in time. Portia thanked Jordan, but Jordan was uncomfortable with the praise. "I'm not the person you think I am," Jordan said.

Sonny arrived at Carly's, and Donna zoomed in to give him a big hug. She invited him to stay for breakfast, and he agreed. She left to change, and Sonny informed Carly that he had some news for her. She revealed that she'd seen Sonny and Nina at the Metro Court, and she dully congratulated him. He said he didn't want to tell Donna without telling Carly. Carly absentmindedly replied that it was up to him. He noticed how distracted she seemed, and she told him that Diane had just left after discussing Carly's case.

Sonny believed that the enemies of the people he'd just started working with were going after Carly to get to him. Carly related that Diane had heard something about Carly getting a deal for turning on Sonny. Sonny urged her to do it, but she adamantly refused. She figured she'd been through worse than a couple years at a minimum-security prison. She went on that her other option was turning on Drew, which she also refused to do. Donna returned, and Sonny told her that he wanted to talk to her about some imminent changes.

At Sonny's, Nina decided that she was going to do whatever she could to make sure that Carly was out of her way. A skeptical Ava warned her about consequences but insisted that she was on Nina's side. She wondered what Nina's plan was. Nina wanted to make Drew believe that Carly was going to turn on him so that he would turn on Carly first. Ava wasn't sure how realistic the plan was, but Nina figured he just needed to hear the information from someone he trusted, and Nina had someone in mind.

T.J. left a voicemail for Molly, telling her that he was sorry and that he loved her. He urged her to call back or return home. There was a knock on the door once he hung up, and he was surprised to see Stella. Once in the apartment, she could tell that something was weighing on T.J., so she asked what was going on. T.J. informed her that he and Molly had been trying to get pregnant, but "medical challenges" might make it impossible. He continued that he'd done nothing but put his foot in his mouth, and he wondered what he could do.

Stella advised T.J. that, while both he and Molly were going through the situation, it was different for Molly as a woman. She continued that all he could do was just be there for Molly. He figured that he could do that, and she wondered if there was anything she could do for him. "Distract me," he replied, and he asked why she was back in town. She answered, "Family, of course." She asked about Curtis and Portia, and he revealed that they were not living together. T.J. hugged Stella and expressed how happy he was to see her. She hoped that Curtis would feel the same. She advised T.J. that love was always worth fighting for, and she left.

Molly burst into Alexis' house, crying, and hugged her mother. Molly announced to Alexis, Sam, and Kristina that she'd been diagnosed with endometriosis. She added that it wouldn't kill her, but she might never be able to have a baby. Kristina went on about different options Molly and T.J. had, but Molly exclaimed, "Stop!" and ran outside. Alexis followed Molly out. "Go ahead, tell me what I did wrong since you're so skilled at it," Kristina said sarcastically to Sam.

Sam apologized for raining on Kristina's parade, and Kristina admitted that Sam had had some "decent points." Sam acknowledged that sometimes encouragement was better than trying to fix things, and Kristina realized that that had been her mistake with Molly. Sam explained that Molly's body had betrayed her, so she was blaming herself. Kristina wondered what would happen if Molly never got to be a mother. Sam replied that they would have Molly's back like they always did.

Alexis sat down next to Molly on the step outside, and Molly mentioned how overwhelmed she was. Alexis asked about T.J., and Molly lamented that she'd "screwed up" with him. Alexis knew that, with time, the couple would figure things out together. A short while later, the two returned inside. Kristina apologized profusely and assured Molly that she was there for Molly for whatever Molly needed. Sam added that they were always in Molly's corner. As they all embraced, Molly stated that, if she wasn't able to have a family of her own, she was grateful for the family she already had.

At the hospital, Jordan informed Portia that she wasn't the person Portia thought she was. Just then, Curtis stepped off the elevator. A nurse approached with a question for Portia, so Portia followed her away. Curtis asked Jordan what he'd walked in on and if Jordan had been about to say something to Portia about their kiss. Jordan admitted that she'd considered it. Just then, Anna approached, and Curtis excused himself. Anna commented about the air being tense and wondered what was going on.

Jordan ended up telling Anna about everything that had happened with Curtis. She lamented going from being his ex to being his "dirty little secret." Anna figured that Curtis was trying to navigate things without hurting anyone, which Jordan called impossible. Jordan wondered if she should bow out or go after what she wanted. She asked if she even had the right to do so, especially if it meant destroying the life of another woman.

Curtis approached Portia and asked to talk about "us." He admitted that his experience in Greenland had gotten him thinking, and he didn't want to leave anything unsaid between them. A few minutes later, they were in her office, and he told her that he didn't want the "limbo" they were in to go on any longer. He wanted to try to make things work. She cautiously wondered what that looked like, and he replied that he wanted to move back in, albeit in the guest room. She vowed to do whatever it took to become a family again.

At Sonny's penthouse, Diane was chilly and hostile toward Nina. Nina mentioned Willow, and she asked if Diane had anyone special in her life. Diane told Nina that the two of them weren't friends and that it was none of Nina's business.

Sonny appeared, and he said that the authorities were hoping to force Carly to turn on him. Sonny vowed that Carly would never turn him in. Nina told Sonny that she loved him, and she left to meet Olivia at Metro Court.

After Nina left, Sonny asked Diane to find out how -- and why -- the authorities had gotten involved in Carly and Drew's case. Diane said she had exhausted her resources. Sonny asked Diane to appeal to Robert for help. Diane left for Metro Court. Afterwards, Sonny ordered one of his men to bring a car around.

At Metro Court, Anna asked Robert about Holly. Robert said that Holly had left town, and he shared that he and Holly had said their farewells to one another -- perhaps for good. Anna said that Holly still cared about Robert, and she asked what the real reason had been for Holly's departure.

Anna mentioned Diane, and she suggested that Holly might have done Robert a favor by having left town. Anna reasoned that Holly had "freed" Robert to move forward with Diane. Robert said he wasn't sure that Diane was interested in him. Anna spotted Diane nearby. "Ask her yourself," Anna suggested.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Drew demanded a reason to believe that Ned hadn't contacted the SEC about Drew and Carly having engaged in insider trading. Ned and Drew started to argue, and Brook Lynn stepped between them. Tracy praised Brook Lynn for trying to broker peace. Olivia said that Tracy had to have an ulterior motive for having helped Brook Lynn and Chase reconnect.

Drew dismissively referred to Tracy as Brook Lynn's "fairy godmother," and he heavily implied that he hoped Tracy would go back to Amsterdam. Tracy happily told everyone that she had no intention of leaving town soon. Brook Lynn was the only person who said they were grateful that Tracy wasn't leaving.

Olivia started to leave after hurling snide comments at Tracy. In the foyer, Olivia continued to accuse Ned of having contacted the SEC about Carly and Drew. Olivia claimed that she was "doing my best" to support Ned.

Ned surprised Olivia with a kiss. Olivia responded by telling Ned to not "do anything stupid." Olivia left, and Tracy appeared in the foyer. Tracy said that Ned had nothing to be ashamed of for "dropping a dime" on Carly. "Even if Drew goes down with her?" Ned asked. "That's what he gets for slumming," Tracy shot back.

Ned scoffed that Tracy was "all heart," and he reminded Tracy that he hadn't contacted the SEC. Ned asked if Tracy planned to stay in Port Charles long term. Tracy said that she planned to stay busy. "That's what I'm afraid of," Ned quipped.

Nearby, Drew had been trying to coax Brook Lynn into giving him inside information about Tracy -- presumably, Tracy's role in Chase having been reinstated to the PCPD. Tracy reappeared, and she said she needed to speak with Brook Lynn in private. Drew stared back at Brook Lynn on his way out.

Later, at Metro Court, Olivia told Nina about Olivia's rift with Carly. Olivia was surprised when Nina said that the government might be using Carly and Drew's legal troubles to get to Sonny.

At Carly's mansion, Josslyn asked Carly why Sonny had stopped by. Carly said that Sonny had gone to visit Avery. Josslyn told Carly about her argument with Michael. Carly asked why Josslyn had gone to see Sonny about Dex.

Josslyn claimed that she wanted Sonny to fire Dex. Carly sided with Sonny, and she said that Dex should be the one to tell Sonny that Dex wanted out. Carly reminded Josslyn that Michael and Willow needed them, and they left for the hospital.

At the hospital, Michael, Wiley, Amelia, and Sasha gathered to support Willow, who was scheduled to receive her bone marrow transplant. From outside the isolation room, Sasha tried to boost Willow's spirits. Sasha called Willow a "soldier," who "lives to fight for every second and win."

A short while later, Michael visited Willow. Michael and Willow said that they loved one another. Michael left, and afterwards, Willow flashed back to happy memories of her time with Michael and Wiley as T.J. started the treatment process.

Back in the waiting area, Carly and Josslyn reassured Michael that Willow would be okay. As Carly hugged Michael, the three of them turned and saw Sonny.
