Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan on General Hospital, shared some big news about his status with the ABC soap opera during his fan event with co-star Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) during GH Fan Club Weekend 2025. It just may affect how often viewers get to see McKenna on screen!

After serenading attendees with a duet (along with Anderson) of "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" at the Embassy Suites in Glendale, Calif., Chris McKenna happily shared with his supporters that starting on Monday, when the show is back from its summer hiatus, he will be on contract at GH.

The news was met with a hearty round of applause. McKenna joined the show at the beginning of the year in a non-contract position, taking over the role that was originated by Charles Mesure. Now that McKenna's signed on the dotted line for guaranteed appearances, viewers may be seeing even more of Brennan.

Soap Central spoke to McKenna earlier this year at the Daytime at Nighttime benefit for St. Jude that was put together by Lily Brooks O'Bryant (Lucy, The Young and the Restless). While McKenna's followers on social media have heard that he's quite the crooner, this year, Jack did not perform at the Nurses Ball. "I'm always singing," the actor told Soap Central. "[But] Jack was very busy. The WSB has a lot of stuff going on all over the world."

If and/or when Carly finds out

Jack and Carly (Laura Wright) have been enjoying a terrific relationship, but that could be affected adversely once she finds out that he's employed her daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy) as a WSB agent in training. "We all can't wait for it," McKenna enthuses. "Every time that they tease that it might be coming, Laura, Eden, and I go, 'Oh, it's coming!'"

What's also coming later this year is a potential reunion between McKenna and his former TV mom from One Life to Live, Erika Slezak (Viki). McKenna, as a teenager, played Joey Buchanan, the second son of Slezak's Victoria "Viki" Lord Riley Buchanan.

There's no word yet on who Slezak will be playing, but fans are hoping that there's a nod to the dynamic between her and her former TV son.
