As Dr. Henry Dalton, Daniel Goddard didn't get to work on General Hospital with Tristan Rogers (Scorpio), who played his dad, Colin, on The Young and the Restless. But he is paying tribute to the man's contributions to the ABC soap, and clarifying his status with the show, too!
General Hospital, remembering Tristan
"So I just wrapped at General Hospital," Goddard shared in an Instagram video that showed him outside the GH studios located in Hollywood. Love this show, and I was thinking about Tristan today.
"I want to show you this," Goddard continued as he turned his camera to a pair of commemorative plaques on the wall of the studio building. One acknowledges the 1981 wedding of Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis). The supercouple, along with GH, had become a pop culture phenomenon.
Geary and Francis graced not only the cover of People magazine but of Newsweek, too, which touted GH as TV's hottest show. Goddard shared a tidbit of information that most veteran GH viewers already knew. Rogers was in the wedding episode, which drew in a reported 30 million viewers, as Scorpio served as Luke's best man. "Gone but never forgotten," Goddard said of his friend. "Love you, man."
Setting the record straight

In the comments section of his post, Goddard was careful to clarify that when he said he'd wrapped at GH, he didn't mean it was for good! "Ok...." Goddard posted. "I meant I finished work for today. Not that I wrapped on working at #GH 👍
This remark was met with enthusiasm from Goddard's followers who have followed him from Genoa City to Port Charles.
One supporter, @anapaula5, exclaimed: "phewww! Thanks for clarifying." Added @allisonroxjbj: "That’s a relief 🙌." @joyabove all had one simple request of the actor: "Don’t scare us like that!" Agreeing with other posters was @artistjoni0218, who wrote: "Oh, thank god… 😅 phew~ Don’t scare me like that!!! 😱."
Laura left the canvas a few months later, but Francis brought her back to the show in late 1983 to help usher Geary off the canvas. The two returned for a brief stint in 1984 and then were gone from the series until 1993.
Rogers shifted into an even greater front-burner role upon Luke and Laura's exit, courtesy of his pairing with both Emma Samms (Holly Sutton) and, later, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane).
Rogers left General Hospital in 1992. He returned for some spirit-like appearances in 1995, and then came back on a more full-time basis in the 2000s. Last September, Robert and Holly walked off into the sunset together after learning that they had a long-lost daughter, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).
