Family ties? General Hospital fans do a double-take at Laura Wright’s throwback pic

On General Hospital, Carly (Laura Wright) is going to lose her mind when she finds out that WSB station chief Brennan (Chris McKenna) recruited her daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy) as an intelligence agent. Currently, Joss and her handler/partner, Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), are caught in a sticky situation in Croatia as they’ve been captured by a mysterious bad guy. While Carly may never become a spy like her daughter, it turns out they have one striking similarity that extends out into the real world.

On X, formerly Twitter, Carlyandava1, a true-blue General Hospital fan, shared a photo of a young blonde woman posing by blowing a kiss into the air. They captioned it, “A beautiful #laurawright @lldubs.” Laura Wright retweeted it, writing, “Me at 23 :))) looks like Eden.” The uncanny resemblance between Wright and McCoy suitably blew the fans away, as SudsMedia commented, “Eden REALLY can be your real daughter, not just your reel daughter…holy cow!” TheSpoilerGirl agreed with that comment and replied to it with, “Yeah it's crazy. They should do a DNA test LOL.”

The general consensus was practically unanimous, with JEX18_ sharing a collage of Wright and McCoy pics with the caption, “OMFG right?? she resembles you so much. Eden is perfectly cast as your TV daughter! #Carly #Joss #GH.” JustinJuerakhan echoed the sentiment with the response, “Like TV mother, like TV daughter!” SoapyHousewife made an interesting comment with, “It does! I always thought Eden looked like she could actually be your and Ingo’s child. She looks so much like the both of you.” The General Hospital fan was referring to Ingo Rademacher, who played Josslyn’s father, Jasper “Jax” Jacks.

Twinning vibes

General Hospital fan, @Cherasny3, referred to a classic TV sitcom, writing, “Mark Teschner [has] done great at casting Eden as your daughter. Your daughter, Lauren, and TV daughter Eden look like sisters. Not since Elizabeth (Bewitched: Samantha ) Montgomery and Erin (Tabitha) Murphy looked like mom and daughter. Great company.” Bewitched was about a witch named Samantha who marries a mortal man, Darrin, and tries to live a normal suburban life while her magical powers often cause comedic chaos. Kind of like Carly’s life but without the magic.

Some fans have felt that Wright and McCoy looked like a real mother and daughter for years, and many said they were “twinning.” Britta319 tried to imagine what was going on in the world when Wright was 23, speculating, “I feel like you just were listening to Ace of Base, Mariah Carey, and CeCe Peniston.” And salcorrente summed up the shocked fan responses with the comment, “Most believable mother-daughter duo on television for my money.”
