General Hospital alum Michael Easton (ex-Hamilton Finn) has been moving with intention lately. Quiet stretches to renew his creativity. New headshots late last year. A few public reunions. Enough to give the sense that he’s circling the work again, on his own terms, without making a big show of it. And instead of a formal announcement, he shared something subtler this week — a behind-the-scenes post that was not a project reveal but a genuine thank-you to the people who helped him learn how to do the job.

General Hospital Alum Michael Easton Credits the People Who Taught Him

On Instagram, Easton shared a video with the caption, “It’s not until you try doing it yourself that you realize how blessed you’ve been to work with so many amazingly talented writers and directors over the years, many of whom were kind enough to pass along some of their knowledge to me.”

He continued by noting, “The one thing I did learn was hire really good actors, and I’m fortunate to be friends with some of the best.” He thanked everyone who’s helped him, including fellow soap stars Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Trevor St. John (ex-Tucker, The Young and the Restless), as well as acknowledging “The amazing cinematography of Don Hamilton and the entire team @hamiltonstudioproductions.”

The attached video was comprised of clips from his short films, including St. John in Ultraviolent and Dreamliner, About a Girl with Budig, and First Strike Butcher Knife with both those actors and the late soap alum Kamar de los Reyes. The footage moved between controlled intensity and stillness: surveillance rooms, quiet beaches, close-ups that held a beat longer than expected. It played like a working reel, not a victory lap.

Mark Lawson, who played the ill-fated Dustin on General Hospital, chimed in with, “Love it!” to which Easton replied, “Thank you, Mark. Join us next time.” Lawson came back with, “@iammichaeleaston I’m at your service, buddy.” GH star Maurice Benard (Sonny) lovingly commented, “Michael is a really great director, also a great person, but I was so impressed with his directing blew me away.” Easton’s thank you came in the form of praise: “@mauricebenard, you’re a good man, Maurice.”

Fans filled the comments with gratitude, curiosity, and a fair amount of pleading. @tinalbp wrote, “Michael, it's all I can do to tear myself away from watching this… What’s amazing is the depth and emotion you brought out.” @prettybaby69 kept it simple: “Looks amazing! You are so talented!” Several asked the same question, again and again, without impatience, and some asked where his films can be viewed.

Others focused on recognition and memory. @take2radio called it “a reel that shows the intensity & emotions that touch your heart & soul,” while @patricia_rose_g shared, “seeing the late great actor… touched my heart so much.” The through-line wasn’t hype. It was trust. People didn’t ask for promises. They just wanted to see the work when he’s ready to share it.

General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
