William deVry: General Hospital alum William deVry hangs with superheroes

It’s been quite a while since William deVry’s mobster, Julian Jerome, was causing trouble on General Hospital. After a battle with Sonny (Maurice Benard), the footbridge that the two clashed on collapsed beneath them. Sonny survived, albeit landing in Nixon Falls for a time with amnesia, but Julian did not. But fans still miss his flawed character and follow him ardently on social media. The actor recently had a fantastic opportunity, and the fans were beyond thrilled.

A major bombshell

On Instagram, General Hospital alum William deVry shared a photo of himself dressed in a suit and posing next to actress Rebecca Staab at the world premiere of the new Marvel film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He captioned it, “@rebeccastaab #OriginalSueStorm #WilliamdeVry @spillmovie @srocf #FantasticFourWorldPremiere.” The Fantastic Four are known as Marvel’s “First Family” of heroes, and the first live-action feature about them was made in 1994 with Staab playing Sue Storm. Along with her boyfriend Reed Richards (Alex-Hyde White), her brother Johnny Storm (Jay Underwood), and family friend Ben Grimm (Michael Bailey Smith), they were bathed in cosmic radiation that granted them superpowers.

It was produced by B-Movie guru Roger Corman, but never got an official release, although it has become popular among fans over the years via bootleg copies of the film that have circulated. deVry also shared on Instagram a pic of the original four actors at the premiere. Prior to that, @nerdsofunusualorigin shared a photo of the four from the original movie side-by-side with the actors today, with the caption, “BREAKING: Kevin Feige drops a bombshell! The cast of the unreleased 1994 *Fantastic Four* film will have CAMEOS in the 2025 *Fantastic Four* movie! They were even spotted at the premiere!”

They were truly fantastic

This is a big deal because the 1994 film has long been considered a ‘Holy Grail’ among fans, and it was incredibly nice of the producers of the 2025 film to include the actors from the original. On deVry’s post, General Hospital star Parry Shen, whose character Brad got involved in a baby swap scheme with Julian, excitedly commented, “That’s awesome - OG Sue Storm!” Lisa LoCicero, who plays Olivia Falconeri and was once involved with Julian, also chimed in with, “Gorgeous!”

@afireinside.for.music shared the ironic comment, “Y'all look so Fantastic!” @whitemxindanger shared what a lot of other fans were thinking with, “Love that they invited the original movie cast.” And @luv_bytes wrote, “You look gorgeous @rebeccastaab, and Will you are handsome as ever!!”

General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
