When Emme Rylan took over the role of General Hospital's Lulu Spencer Falconeri in 2014, she became fast friends with Kirsten Storms, her character's real-life BFF. Through the years, they have shared a creative passion outside acting. Now, they are turning that passion into a business.

General Hospital stars team up

Storms and Rylan recently took to Instagram to announce the launch of their new sweater line called "Kickin' It." Both actresses have been avid crocheters and knitters for years, something that has bonded them together during their decade-long friendship. They explained why they chose to turn their love for sweaters into a business.

"The idea to collaborate with each other on a sweater collection manifested so naturally," they wrote on their new @kirstenandemme Instagram account. "We were each making sweater pieces and kind of just started putting our own pieces together like a puzzle. The first sweater we made together blew our minds. We knew we had to expand on our love for these cardigans and share them with you guys. Each sweater is truly a joint project that we work on TOGETHER - while we are just #kickinit."

You can find Storms and Rylan posing in their crocheted creations that each have a name. Choose from The Kimono, Desert Daze, My Sunshine, The Berryigan, The OG, and Proper-ish.

Maxie missing in action

Although Rylan departed General Hospital in 2020, she and Storms have remained BFFs. Storms herself chose to take a leave of absence this summer to settle into a new home in Tennessee after having more health issues. She is expected to return to the ABC soap either late this year or early next year, but recently posted a medical update.

Storms has been proactive about her health since a brain cyst in 2021 needed surgery. When she began having symptoms in January of this year, she sought out her doctor and learned she had a brain aneurysm.

In her Instagram post, Storms revealed that Rylan has been by her side throughout her medical crises and will be there when Storms has another procedure in a few weeks. Storms also admitted that crocheting has been therapeutic during these difficult times.

Meanwhile, Storms' alter-ego, Maxie Jones, lingers in a coma, but we can't wait to see her back on our GH screens soon.
