Gibson is no stranger to the world of soaps, having played legacy character Noah Newman on Y&R from 2021 to 2023. The son of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Collins (Sharon Case), Noah had just returned from Europe after a nasty break-up. We later learned that Noah had been involved with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) until he ultimately returned to Europe.

A native of Long Beach, CA, Gibson's first television role came in 2018 when he appeared in the TV movie A Night to Regret. Other screen credits include Twisted Twin, Severed Road, and How Jessica Died.

Gibson told TV Insider that he comes from a family of General Hospital fans. When he landed the role, his family was over the moon, especially when they heard who he would be playing.

"I called my grandma first, and she was just shouting, hollering, screaming," he said. "Right when I got off the phone, I could just hear her yell out to my uncle in the background, 'He’s Michael Corinthos!' So, they were very, very excited."

As the biological son of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and AJ Quartermaine (Billy Warlock and Sean Kanan), and the adoptive son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), the legacy character of Michael Corinthos has quite the soap opera pedigree. Michael has been recovering in a German burn clinic for months after a fire bomb raged through Sonny's penthouse at the start of the year.

While Michael has been receiving treatment, his wife decided to take their two kids and shack up with his uncle before offering quite a public display of affection on the Nurses' Ball red carpet. Michael seemed to be watching the coverage of the event from a private plane.

When Michael surprises everyone at the ball, he will look a lot different and act a lot different with Gibson in the role. Michael will be poised to fight Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) for their children and hopefully take care of the problem that is his Uncle Drew (Cameron Mathison).

Gibson assessed Michael's new attitude upon his arrival in Port Charles.

"He is at a huge crossroads in his life," the actor explained. "He has a thirst for vengeance and justice because it’s no secret what Drew put him through. I think he’s at a place where he so badly wants to have a calm and peaceful life, especially after everything he’s gone through, but I don’t necessarily see that happening for him."
