General Hospital guest star Erika Slezak reveals someone close to her did not watch her as Viki on One Life to Live

General Hospital guest star Erika Slezak has wrapped up her stint as Ronnie Bard, the late Monica’s long-lost sister, but she’ll always have a loyal legion of followers. However, there’s one person who is closer to her than anyone else in the world, and he has not been a frequent viewer of Slezak’s work!

Slezak recently told PEOPLE that her husband, actor Brian Davies (ex-Sheldon, As the World Turns), whom she wed in 1978, didn’t watch her on One Life to Live, the ABC serial on which Slezak played Viki for decades. (Veteran ATWT fans recall that Sheldon Harper was the attorney of Tad Channing, played by Andrew Potter, a man who tore through Oakdale like a plague in 1986).

“He didn’t want to see me kissing all my husbands,” Slezak shared.

The six-time Daytime Emmy-winner says that when she would return home from working on OLTL, Davies would ask how the day went. And if there was kissing, or if there was not, his wife would reply that everything was fine.

However, Slezak says that Davies broke with tradition and started watching GH during her tenure on the show. He became a fast admirer of Sonny’s (Maurice Benard), the leading man mobster of Port Charles.

Slezak was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was going to be a scene between Ronnie and Benard’s character, Sonny. Viewers saw a bit of a softer side to the coffee importer as he and Ronnie did a bit of bonding. The actress shared with Benard that her husband took a liking to Sonny.

According to Slezak, Benard told her it’d be interesting if the General Hospital writers ended up making Ronnie and Sonny pals. The door is open for Ronnie’s return. Some speculated that Ronnie would turn out to be a total fraud, but viewers learned that she truly is Monica’s sister.

They received confirmation from Tracy (Jane Elliot) herself, who revealed that she learned of Ronnie when Moncia and Alan (the late Stuart Damon) were engaged. It only made sense that Tracy would run a background check on Monica as she was marrying into her wealthy family.
