Former General Hospital star Jeff Kober has landed another role in a major TV series.
According to Deadline, Kober will play a recurring role on the HBO Max TV series The Pitt when it returns for its second season January 8th.
Deadline reported that Kober will play Duke, a motorcycle engineer who goes way back with one of the doctor characters on the show.
Kober was memorable as Cyrus Renault on General Hospital

The Pitt stars Noah Wyle, who plays an emergency room doctor reminiscent of his role as Dr. John Carter in the groundbreaking NBC series ER.
The Pitt chronicles the urgent challenges U.S. frontline healthcare professionals face at a fictional hospital emergency department in Pittsburgh. Offering a real-time format, the series traces, hour by hour, “the daily lives of the frontline as they juggle personal crises, workplace politics, and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients, revealing the resilience required in their noble calling,” according to its IMDB tagline.
In addition to playing the lead role, Wyle is executive producer of the show, which is set 10 months after the events of the Season 1 finale and takes place over Fourth of July weekend.
Kober is an Emmy winner for playing Cyrus Renault on General Hospital. He was nominated twice for Outstanding Supporting Actor, winning the trophy in 2022. Kober began playing the role in 2020, and exited the show earlier this year when Cyrus was killed by Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
Since one season of The Pitt takes place in real time in the lives of the characters, it seems likely that Kober will take part in several episodes. And given his award-winning ability to play intimidating villains, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see his Duke character causing trouble for other characters.
Kober has had a long acting career and this is not his first brush with motorcycles. He had a recurring role on the motorcycle-gang drama Sons of Anarchy. He also had a recurring role on The Walking Dead. He has also appeared on several other popular hit series such as Walker, NCIS: Los Angeles and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Wyle won a Primetime Emmy this fall for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his lead role in The Pitt. The show also won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
Wyle was previously nominated five times for Outstanding Supporting Actor for playing John Carter on ER.
In addition to Wyle, The Pitt also stars Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, Sepideh Moafi and Gerran Howell.
