General Hospital’s Carolyn Hennesy reveals her dream role — and it’s not what you’d expect

Powerhouse attorney Diane Miller has had her hands full lately on General Hospital, especially with the fallout from Drew’s shooting shaking up half of Port Charles. She’s representing clients, navigating family feuds, and firing off one-liners with the precision only Diane can deliver.

Away from the courtroom drama and sharp-tongued sass, the actress who brings her to life has a very different dream role in mind — and it’s not what fans might think.

Something incredibly vulnerable

General Hospital’s Carolyn Hennesy took to Instagram for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with fans, writing: “Lisa from Facebook asks me, ‘What is your dream role?’ In this AMA, I open up about roles I am typically cast in and what my dream role would be. If you have a question, please leave it in the comments and it might be used in a future Ask Me Anything segment.”

In the attached video, she started off playfully, acknowledging the fan love for her growing hair. She admitted with a laugh that some people think it’s a wig — and she’s still getting used to the length. Then, shifting to the actual question, she shared something more personal.

“My dream role is something incredibly vulnerable because, as you can tell, they put me in the snarky, the bitchy, the evil,” the General Hospital said, adding, “That's my area of expertise.” She continued with, “There’s a saying that the snake always gets the best lines and the best shoes, and who doesn’t want the best shoes? But my dream role would be to play something vulnerable. For instance, I’m gonna take you way, way back. There’s a movie called The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Charles Laughton, and to play Emily Barrett…that’s something that I would love to do. Anything really tragic and vulnerable would be a dream role for me.”

General Hospital fans show their love

General Hospital fans quickly filled the comments with love and enthusiasm. @grandpups3 wrote, “The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1934) is one of the greatest movies. Every character gives a strong performance!!” @bella.8653 added, “Your hair looks amazing! You are a great actress, wish GH had you on more.”

Others focused on her talent and versatility. @shemacado said, “I love you on GH. You are spectacular. I wish you were in more scenes.” @amygore4 shared, “I would adore to see you in a modern remake of Sorry Wrong Number, you would be fabulous, snarky, and vulnerable.” @loismarie04 commented, “You are Amazing on GH & loved you on True Blood as a vampire. I think the writers should give you your own big storyline, with a Love interest.”

Many echoed how much they love Diane, but are interested in seeing her do more. @rambler_mg wrote, “I can see why that could be a dream role. But I gotta add, your wit as Diane Miller is like no other.” @jeroone2008 added, “I liked when you were in a relationship on GH. It definitely showed your vulnerable side.”

The comments were filled with hair love, praise for her acting range, and plenty of calls for more Diane on General Hospital.
