The General Hospital family of Anna Devane, Robert Scorpio, and their daughter Robin has captured fans' hearts for decades. Finola Hughes, Tristan Rogers, and Kimberly McCullough became family off-screen, as well as on, when they all first met in the 1980s.

After news of Rogers' death broke on August 15, both McCullough and Hughes took to social media to share tributes to the actor who meant so much to them, with both photos and words, or at least a simple word from McCullough.

Kimberly McCullough touches our hearts

Kimberly McCullough said so much with so little when she posted a vintage photo of herself with Rogers when she was just a child.

"Trissy forever," was all she wrote on Instagram alongside the image, to which Hughes replied, "Oh Kimberly."

McCullough and Rogers first began working together in 1985 when McCullough was just seven years old. In an interview with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson on their That's Awesome podcast, Rogers described McCullough's audition when former General Hospital executive producer Gloria Monty asked her to improvise with Rogers and Hughes.

"She [Monty] wanted to see how she was going to improv because she was working with myself and Finola and we were improvers," Rogers explained. "So she wanted to see if little Kimberly could keep up. Not only did she keep up. She went past. She was really good at it. She could really think on her feet," Rogers said.

Finola Hughes pays tribute to General Hospital co-star

Hughes, who is still fighting crime in Port Charles as police commissioner Anna Devane, offered a poignant tribute to her beloved friend and co-star. Her beautiful words speak for themself.

"Wish I could play one more scene with you, my friend," she wrote on Instagram. "Tris sauntered into my life on that first day to rehearse. Cropped hair & steel blue eyes, I thought ‘damn, I’m gonna be working with Steve McQueen!’ From day one, he called me ‘kid’ or ‘Finny,’ and he made me laugh.

"An effortless actor, living on screen, he taught me so much. Serious about his work, but always a rebel. His own man, navigating the system, he protected me, protected Kimberly, his character, his friends. God, he was a good one. Silly, funny, kind, serious. I am heartbroken for his awesome wife, Teresa, and his children, Sara, Jane, & Cale. His family made him so happy, and he adored talking about them. Love you, Trissy. Mai Tai’s on the beach, Scorpio…"
