On General Hospital, Molly Lansing-Davis is single but has been thinking about Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and contemplating writing another romance novel to add to the two books she published as a teenager.
In real life, Molly’s portrayer, Kristen Vaganos, seems to be in a storybook romance of her own, but she said it has not reached a certain chapter that some well-meaning fans have been skipping ahead to.
The General Hospital star set the record straight on social media on August 4th about her relationship with her boyfriend, actor Nick Cafero.
General Hospital star had a romantic vacation in Italy
Some fan sites around social media have been congratulating Vaganos and Cafero on being newly engaged to be married, but Vaganos said this week that hasn’t happened.
Vaganos posted a picture to her Instagram Stories on August 4th, saying, “Contrary to the fan page articles, and this literal photoshoot, we did not get engaged.”
The story links to a post on Cafero’s Instagram account with photos from a vacation they took in Italy in July with several family members. Both Cafero and Vaganos had been posting pictures and videos from Italy while they were there.
Some of the pictures were posed romantic photos, and as any fan of The Bold and the Beautiful would tell you, Italy is a fantastic place for romance and an ideal spot for a proposal. And with loved ones present to share in any happiness, the recipe for a proposal worthy of a romance novel was right there.
Multiple fan sites on Instagram and Facebook saw their social media posts and assumed a proposal had happened without any proof. They took to the internet to congratulate the couple on their engagement despite the fact that neither one announced anything official on their pages.
Vaganos said she has seen some of these posts, and like her assistant district attorney character, she decided to clarify the facts for the official record. According to their accounts, Vaganos and Cafero have been dating since early 2024.
Cafero has guest-starred in major shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1, Black-ish, and The Office. According to IMDB, he is set to make multiple appearances on the upcoming show The Runarounds, which stars General Hospital’s William Lipton (Cameron Webber) and tells the story of Lipton’s real-life band.

Vaganos wished her boyfriend a happy birthday in a post in July. She included several photos of them together, and captioned it: “He is the kindest, most generous soul. He is so talented, hard working, and makes the best quinoa salad. He is fluent in every love language. AND he’s learning Italian! I love you Nicky, thank you for sharing your life with me.”
