General Hospital's Parry Shen masters the art of the ambush (sort of)

Viewers don’t consider General Hospital’s Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) as the guy they’d rely on if danger arose. He’s traditionally been only out for himself and has barely raised a fist against anyone. But in real life, Shen is a little more capable, even though his characters in the Hatchet horror franchise spent the majority of the films running instead of fighting. While in February, Shen revealed his superhero side, he recently showed off some hilarious (if questionable) combat moves on social media.

Finger guns take the field

General Hospital star Parry Shen wrote on Instagram, “Annual choir retreat water fight. Upgraded from 2024’s paltry pistol to an automatic water rifle with stock & scope (both non-functioning but looked badass). Higher capacity water tank. Camouflaged it in the woods with pine tree branches until the perfect time to strike. All completely unnecessary, since my daughter wound up bringing finger guns to a water gun fight.” His words captioned several pics he shared from his aquatic combat exercise.

In them, you can see what he was referring to by “finger guns,” because his daughter wasn’t using a water pistol, just her hands in the shape of guns to fight off her enemies. But it didn’t matter if he lost the competition, as a fan, @christybutton, wrote, “Love the dedication!😎.” @joaquincastro06 chimed in with, “That’s so cool, great way to cool off during the summer!” @dan_stevens_fan_page was very eagle-eyed, noting that Shen’s daughter also had her hands mimicking a famous, web-slinging superhero, and commented, “Is that a Spider-Man web I see?”

Could Brad take down Drew?

Another General Hospital fan, @rowhanwills, responded, “@parryshen looks like you’re having quite the summer fun.” And @krazykae24 posted a hilarious animated gif depicting what looks like penguins having a spectacular water gun fight. Shen shared the same post on X, formerly Twitter, and got some wildly different fan responses. Many of his followers asked when he would be returning to the show, as Brad left Port Charles recently. But @Varnerism had a creative thought about Brad coming back, writing, “Training for Bad Brad’s triumphant return to PC as Wu captain. #gh Dark horse ‘who shot Drew?’ candidate.”

What they were referring to was the fact that Drew (Cameron Mathison) has gone so far over to the dark side that it seems someone might shoot him. The ‘Wu’ referenced was Brad’s aunt, mobstress Selina Wu (Lydia Look), and the theory was that Brad would come back under her orders and kill Congressman Cutthroat. And fan, @dotterp, was pleasantly surprised by the post, responding, “Wow, you take your games seriously!”
