General Hospital Spoilers, May 20: Shock and awe in store as the Nurses' Ball begins

It's the day Port Charles has been waiting for as the Nurses' Ball gets off to a roaring start with the red carpet arrivals. Sure, it's a ball to benefit the AIDS wing at a small Upstate New York hospital where the staff and townspeople put on a variety show, but the international press is there to cover it while Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) host the red carpet antics.

Everyone is dressed in their finest gowns and tuxedos as Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) debuts her first outfit of the evening — and brings her llama along for the proverbial ride. (Of course, she does.) Some of the big arrivals include Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as well as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his absolutely stunning date, Donna (Scarlett Spears).

While Lucy fields a crisis on the carpet, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) conspire backstage. Anna has a big idea, and she needs Felicia to help her carry out a plan. What could Anna possibly be up to?

Port Charles gets ready

While some Port Charles residents arrive at the ball a little early, others are still preparing for the big night. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) gets a surprise when Ric (Rick Hearst) stops by as she is ready to leave. Alexis warns Ric that things might not go as planned with his little blackmail scheme. With Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) in the know, he can help Alexis, but she won't tell Ric that.

Before Molly (Kristen Vaganos) takes her red carpet walk, Cody (Josh Kelly) offers her his arm and offers to be her date. Will Molly accept Cody's gesture?

At the Q mansion, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) can't take his eyes off Lulu (Alexa Havins) as they prepare to leave for the ball. At least Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is with a friend when he arrives at the ball with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) by his side. How will Emma (Braedyn Bruner) feel about that?

Chase (Josh Swickard) is in for a big surprise when he takes a phone call. The person on the other end asks him to do something he is not prepared for. Does it have anything to do with the call Drew just made to Mac (John J. York)?
