On General Hospital, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) went to Turkey to locate Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), who had disappeared while trying to take down a criminal named Raj in 2019. It was there that Sonny met the streetwise pickpocket, Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab), who saved his life. The mobster with a heart of gold would later take the young man under his wing. Sadly, Dev was killed when the Floating Rib restaurant blew up in 2020. Fans were disappointed to see a promising young character meet his demise, but continued to follow Arbab to his other projects.
He’s got many talents

General Hospital fans may not know that Arbab is not only an actor, but also a director, writer, and producer. After making a couple of short films and directing two music videos, Arbab is ready to move on to a bigger production. He spoke with Digital Journal recently and dished about his latest project, Summer of ‘76. “It came about by me wanting to write and direct my second directorial film,” he explained.
The actor further elaborated about his inspiration for the new feature, stating, “I love the 70’s soul and music coming of age films, which is why I decided to write a coming of age film about three teens in a suburban town who go on a road trip to track down a local legendary rock band that mysteriously broke up years back.”
He explained that “Alongside directing, I play the lead role of Jet Wilson, who works at the record store in the small town with his uncle.” The General Hospital alum noted that, “Jet is the one who gets his trio to go on the road trip to find the band.”
A coming-of-age tale

According to Summer of ‘76’s official IMDb page, the movie’s full premise is: “In the summer of 1976, three teens set out on a roadtrip to track down the lost members of a forgotten local rock band-but what begins as a nostalgic hunt through America's musical past, becomes a transformative journey of friendship, first love, and the courage to chase dreams before youth fades.”
The multi-talented performer stated that production will commence in Los Angeles in August, and he’s very excited to get the film off the ground. “I would love to tell people that ‘Summer of ’76’ is a film for all ages,” he enthusiastically stated, informing people to seek him out on social media for updates.
He stated his full plans for the project, noting that “We plan to hopefully adapt this film into a feature-length or a series-level production. Before then, we will do a festival circuit at all of the major festivals.” The movie also stars Francis Faye, Lacey Claire Rogers, Aliza Kate Barlow, and Matt Sato.
