Home Away From Home: General Hospital's Laura Wright Raves About Her Perfect Family Retreat

For a time, it seemed as if Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) were a General Hospital match made in Heaven. But when his presumed-dead brother, Jason (Steve Burton), returned very much alive, Drew dumped her like a hot potato, knowing that she would always prioritize Jason over him. Fortunately, in the real world, Wright’s life is not nearly so dramatic. She’s got a good life with her kids and her beau, former GH star Wes Ramsey (ex-Peter). She recently shared with her fans a fun trip her family took.

An idyllic retreat

Wright created an Instagram post in which she wrote, “So so grateful for the past few days spent in the most beautiful - cozy - inviting vacation rental - this space was just perfect for families, readers, chefs, and all dogs and monkeys.” She then provided the contact info if fans were interested in booking the same or similar properties. It was noted at the top of the post that this new vacation spot was located in Carpinteria, California.

The General Hospital star included several photos from her vacation, the first of which was of the exterior of the house, featuring two white Adirondack chairs set on a bright green, manicured lawn. Next was her daughter, smiling as she was reading The Shadow of Kings by Charles David Alexander on a Kindle. The pictures continued with shots of their dogs relaxing with their human companions, beautiful snaps of the house’s rustic decor, a splendid fireplace, and someone tossing a pancake in the air. Another shot was of Wright and Ramsey enjoying their time in a pool.

A cozy getaway

Eden McCoy, who plays Carly’s daughter, Josslyn, commented simply, “Perfect.” Burton’s new wife, Michelle Lundstrom, eagerly chimed in with, “Yes to all of it.” A jewelry maker, Waxing Poetic Jewelry, shared joyous greetings with, “Laura, welcome to Carpinteria!” The fans went ga ga over the post as @jocelyn.stuart responded, “Well, doesn’t that look sweet and awesome and cozy and magical!!”

In the pool pic, Wright had her hair done up in a bun, so @sashie2412 commented, “I LOVE your hair when it’s like this!” The forward thinking viewer, @2013stacy, lovingly wrote, “Wes, it’s time to put a ring on her finger!” Many of the General Hospital star’s fans told her to enjoy herself while others remarked how wonderful family time can be. And @jeffmeck7 represented many with the comment, “Wow! Such wonderful photographs! Thanks for sharing them with all of us!”
