Jon Lindstrom is back on General Hospital — at least for a little while. The veteran soap actor hasn't been seen in Port Charles in a year, but when Kevin reunites with wife, Laura, on the December 2, 2025, episode, it's like he's never been gone.
Jon Lindstrom is ready for more General Hospital

Kevin may have been MIA from Port Charles since 2024, but Lindstrom hasn't been MIA from the soap opera scene. In fact, he can be seen regularly on the new CBS soap Beyond the Gates as gambling kingpin Joey Armstrong, airing opposite GH in most markets.
When Lindstrom told General Hospital Executive Producer Frank Valentini that he was taking a role on a brand-new soap, the first thing Valentini wanted to know was if Lindstrom could do both soaps. While legally he could because he was not bound by a contract, the fact that BTG films in Atlanta and GH films in Los Angeles made things difficult, but finally, Lindstrom was able to work something out with the ABC soap.
"There were just logistical problems along the way over the last year where they would reach out every now and again and ask if I was available for one episode or another episode in the middle of a week, and that’s impossible for me to do from out here because Gates takes up a lot of my time," Lindstrom told TV Insider. "To their credit, they came to me and said, ‘What if we stack a bunch of shows up over a couple of days? Will that be worth your while to make the trip out?' And the short answer is, ‘Yes, of course.'"
You can go home again

Lindstrom had called GH home off and on since 1993, and even starred in the soap's spin-off, Port Charles. However, the actor noted that Kevin hasn't done much in recent years, unless the story involved Kevin's crazed twin, who Lindstrom also brought to life.
"In all fairness to me, it had whittled down to about one or two shows a month, so Kevin had been fairly inactive for a long time," Lindstrom said, when explaining why he took the BTG role. "I haven’t seen him have a really active story since the show Port Charles, or unless Ryan [Chamberlain, Kevin’s twin] was around, so it was kind of a no-brainer."
Kevin is back just in the nick of time for Laura as she deals with discovering Dalton's dead body in her trunk and turning to Sonny to dispose of it. However, many fans feel Kevin is also needed to explain some of the Faison story. Would Lindstrom be open to more appearances down the line?
"I’ll do GH anytime," he said. "I just don’t know if we can work it out. I’m busier than I’ve ever been, and I thought I’d be retired by now."
