Joss’s spy era is getting messy, and General Hospital’s Eden McCoy says that’s the fun of it

On General Hospital, Josslyn Jacks is out there juggling spy work, emotional landmines, and a WSB handler she can’t stop kissing, and somehow still finding time to lie to Brennan (Chris McKenna) and Carly (Laura Wright) without tripping over her own shoelaces. It’s been a wild stretch on GH — the kind where one wrong move blows the whole operation open — and Eden McCoy teases that the real chaos hasn’t even hit yet.

The General Hospital spy story that shook up her routine

When McCoy spoke with Woman’s World, she didn’t sound rattled at all. If anything, she sounded like someone who’s been waiting years for this kind of storyline. She laughed about how freeing it felt to show up to work without knowing which version of Joss she’d be playing that day — the rookie spy, the adrenaline junkie, or the girl barely holding her secrets together.

She was blunt about how different this arc feels from anything she’s done before. After a decade in Port Charles, she knows every corner of the soundstage, every rhythm of Carly’s (Laura Wright) kitchen, every emotional beat that Joss usually gets handed. Now she’s sneaking around hallways, feeding half-truths to family members, and trying to kiss Vaughn without getting shot. It’s a different muscle. It’s why she told the magazine, “People love it or they hate it. But hey… I’m loving it!”

And she meant it — you could hear it under every sentence. She talked about how much she enjoys working with new scene partners, how refreshing the shift feels, and how this spy chapter lets her stretch her acting muscles in ways she hasn’t before. Even the messy parts — especially the messy parts — feel like fuel.

On Vaughn, Carly, and the fire that’s coming

McCoy didn’t shy away from the Vaughn of it all, either. She admitted that Bryce Durfee has been a “blast” to work with, the kind of partner who makes even the sharp corners of a story feel fun.

But the real spark in her voice came when she talked about what happens once Carly gets wise. There was this shift, like the kid in her was already bracing for impact. She didn’t sugarcoat it: “There’s so much to reveal, and I don’t even have the scripts.” She knows it’s going to blow, and she knows Joss can’t dodge that explosion forever.

Then she dropped the dream — the one she’s been saying for years, half-joking but not really. One day, she wants to run the mob. Not adjacent. Not nearby. Run it. In her words: “I want to be a mob boss, and I don’t care about anything else! One day. That’s my dream…”

And honestly? After Joss’ tumultuous life recently, she might need to start taking applications for henchmen. (Learn the secrets that Chris McKenna revealed.)

General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
