Although Scotty disappeared in August 2024, the General Hospital star has continued connecting with his fans, who constantly clamor for his return. His various posts often have to do with his passion for Old Hollywood. He recently shared some of his impressive collection with the fans, opening up a fun dialogue across social media.

Soap Stars Never Die

On X, formerly Twitter, Shriner shared a photo of himself in a storage facility, holding a framed movie poster with his hand up like a gun, mirroring the pose on the poster. He captioned it, “Action stars just go on ice in a storage unit soap actors keep going!!” The poster was from the 1990 film, Escape, which starred Shriner and Kim Richards, who starred in Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), Escape to Witch Mountain (1975), and a host of other films and TV shows.

The movie co-starred well-known character actor Judson Scott, who appeared in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), as well as starring in the short-lived series, The Phoenix. He also played Peter Harrell on General Hospital in 1985. Fan, @@KymsdewKim, reacted, “Are you returning to Gh? Miss you. 😀🤷‍♀️,” which was typical of most of the fan responses. With the knowledge that Kelly Thiebaud (ex-Britt Westbourne) would be returning to General Hospital soon, many fans wondered if Shriner would be returning with her, along with Kathleen Gati, who played Scotty’s love interest (and Britt’s mom), Liesl Obrecht.

They just move from storage to set

Over on Instagram, Shriner posted a video taken at his storage facility. The video moved through the hallway, with several framed movie posters on the left and right. The first poster was from the 1964 film, To Trap a Spy, which was the pilot for the TV series The Man From U.N.C.L.E., which was re-edited and released to theaters as a feature film. Stars Robert Vaughn and Robert McCallum are depicted, looking in awe at Lucianna Paluzzi as she wields a gun and a cigarette in a long filter. Next was a Mexican poster for the screwball comedy, Love Crazy (1941), starring the always great team of William Powell and Myrna Loy.

Next was one for the movie, The Sea of Grass (1941), that starred the legendary actors Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. This was followed by Shriner’s poster for Escape, which had had also shared on X. It’s a beautifully painted image with trucks and cars exploding in the background as motorcyclists fly through the air, and Shriner is depicted as being super jacked in a tank top and jeans, holding a gun in one hand and the female protagonist in the other.

Finally, the camera comes upon the General Hospital star at the end of the hall with a large arrow-shaped sign that has green lightbulbs in it. He remarked, “And of course, the Green Arrow Sign.” Even though the superhero Green Arrow never had a sign associated with him, this was a sly nod to the fact that he voiced the character on the animated series Justice League Unlimited from 2004 to 2006.

Much like on X, the fans demanded Shriner’s return to General Hospital, with @lisa_marieloca01 writing, “Quite the awesome collection! Hey if the Britch can come back, Scotty can too! ❤️.” One can only hope.
