For several decades, Scotty Baldwin was one of General Hospital’s longest-running fixtures in Port Charles. As fans know, Kin Shriner has played the character since the 1970s, yet, for quite some time now, Scotty’s been MIA. Fans have been missing his sharp wit, cheap suits, crazy schemes, and failed romances. Off-screen, Shriner continues to surprise the fans, but his latest social media post did more than just amuse; it set off a wave of fans calling for his - and another legend’s - return.
Mopedding down memory lane
Shriner posted a lighthearted Instagram update featuring himself on a moped with his longtime friend Robin Mattson on the back. The video, briefly set to Van Morrison’s Days Like This, was of Shriner’s selfie with the caption: “My pal Robin !!” The sight of Mattson, who memorably portrayed the unhinged Heather Webber, instantly set longtime viewers into a fun, positive frenzy. General Hospital fans will recall that Mattson originated the role of the psychotic character, bringing to the show the most chilling and beloved portrayal of villainy. While Alley Mills has come to be associated with the part, winning over the fans, many viewers still identify Mattson as their definitive Heather. Seeing her alongside Shriner reignited calls for both to return.
Fans rushed to the comments, as @ligirl318 exclaimed, “There is only ONE HEATHER WEBBER!!! Kin, we miss you. Come back to GH and bring Robin too.” @dludonnell added, “Alley Mills is an amazing actor, but Robin Mattson will always be the TRUE Heather Webber!!” @carlalee23 declared, “OUR HEATHER WEBBER!!!! Someone get this lady a BLT!!! We love & Miss you on GH!” Of course, when Bobbie’s diner was still called Kelly’s, Heather’s favorite sandwich from there was the BLT.
Fans Call for a Return

Others joined in with their own pleas. @katekm37 wrote, “Nice seeing ‘Scott and Heather’ together again! Robin is Heather Weber. We still miss you Kin! Please bring Scott back GH! The show is so much better when Scotty is around. This would be a great time for you to be asked to return since GH could use another lawyer right now! Always enjoy your posts!” @rebellious1956 went old-school with the praise, “Robin played Heather like Betty Davis.”
The comments grew more heartfelt as fans reminisced. @cherielaub85 shared, “Hey Kin I have watched you on General Hospital since the '80s.” They then added, “You're one of the reasons why I stay with General Hospital. Please come back. We've been waiting for you 💙💙💙.” @mamabearit had a great suggestion with the response, “You should do a podcast.” That would be fun so Shriner could regale listeners with his tales of Old Hollywood.
As the nostalgia rolled in, General Hospital fans were increasingly reminded of how much Shriner and Mattson are part of the show’s fabric. @sherrie_dee summed up the mood best with: “Come back!!! Bring Robin.”
General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
