James Patrick Stuart: License to Chill: General Hospital's James Patrick Stuart gets his Bond on in Italy

General Hospital fans have been wondering when James Patrick Stuart would be bringing back his popular character, Valentin Cassadine. Valentin was last seen in Port Charles in March 2025 when he said goodbye to his daughter, Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez), before going to prison for his various crimes. The former spy was arrested and sentenced for being a fugitive, and his involvement with baddie Sidwell (Carlo Rota), which included hiring the hitman who firebombed Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. While his character used to be a super spy, Stuart revealed his real-life fascination with an iconic intelligence agent.

Living la dolce vita

General Hospital’s James Patrick Stuart shared a black and white photo of himself and his wife, personal stylist Jocelyn Stuart, in Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy. He wrote, “Enjoying 'La dolce vita' with my love and traveling companion of over 25 years, @jocelynstuart.style. When last here, we were just making eyes at one another. It’s nice to be back: The vibe of the big yacht parked off your house on the cliff.” He continued, explaining his longtime love for a particular fictional character with, “Cruising around and making plans with your other friends with yachts and houses on cliffs is cool and speaks to my lifelong fascination with James Bond. The pasta is good too. Ciao! Xoxo.”

Co-star Cameron Mathison (Drew) lovingly shared a face with heart eyes emoji. @stevenmarcsimon commented, “You both look fabulous. How could you not, given where you’re at? Enjoy.” Many fans expressed the fact that they missed him on General Hospital. @vbrat1 chimed in with, “You are absolutely missed on GH… but…what’s better than living… traveling and enjoying life with the one you love…Do miss the story readings tho :) ENJOY.”

25 Years and Counting the Blessings

Jocelyn posted a color variation of Stuart’s pic that was closer up to their faces. She captioned it, “Celebrating 25 years, in Italy. Grateful for every season we’ve walked through together—and for the beauty of being here now, slowing down, taking it all in. Here’s to a life well lived—side by side.” An enormous wave of anniversary congratulations came from the fans, with @kaciekouzino.kc commenting, “Enjoy and eat all the food and wine! Congratulations on 25 years.”

@zen_gwen, who appears to be a family friend, lovingly wrote, “Omgeee you are so cute! Happy anniversary! Love that I was there at the beginning. What an honor to be a part of your history.
