Mario Lopez to host Daytime Emmys; three soap legends will be honored

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced that actor, producer, and Daytime Emmys® Award-winning host Mario Lopez will host the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards to take place Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.

The awards show will be streamed live at watch.theemmys.tv and via The Emmys® app.

Recognizing individuals who have made enduring contributions to daytime television, the organization is also honoring the 2025 Gold and Silver Circle inductees are exceptional professionals who have performed distinguished service within the television industry for 50 or 25 years, respectively. They represent the best and brightest in the industry.

General Hospital’s Jane Elliot is the lone Gold Circle Inductee for her several decades of playing Tracy Quartermaine on the show.

Long-time daytime stars Kate Linder (The Young and the Restless) and James Reynolds (Days of our Lives) are Silver Circle Inductees.

Other Silver Circle honorees are Greg Barna (Director of Photography, Travels with Darley, Equitrekking, Cyberchase For Reel, Bill Moyers - Close to Home, Beer Geeks, Lidia's Family Table, Shelia Bridges Designer Living), Judy Blye Wilson (Casting Director, The Young and the Restless, All My Children, One Life to Live) and Star Jones (Host & Executive Producer, Divorce Court, The View).

In addition, NATAS announced that, this year, for the first time since 2018, a limited number of tickets to the 52nd Daytime Emmy® Awards Ceremony will be available for public purchase. Daytime television fans will have a rare chance to experience the excitement of the industry’s most celebrated evening in person and cheer on their favorite performers, television hosts, and creators as they are honored for their contributions to the art of daytime TV. Tickets are now on sale for $75 plus applicable fees and are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster.

This year marks the debut of several new categories at the Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series, Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, and Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre.

Deborah Norville, the longest-serving female anchor in American television history, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award that night.

The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys will be a single ceremony in 2025 and will be produced by NATAS Productions LLC.
