Witness the stunning transformation of General Hospital's Scarlett Spears

General Hospital’s Donna had a difficult beginning on the show. When her mother, Carly (Laura Wright), was pregnant, it was determined that the fetus had Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele. Fortunately, it wasn’t as bad as the doctors thought, and a surgery after she was born resolved the issue. Her dad is Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and she truly looks like him. But Spears isn’t the kind of kid to sit and wait for GH to call. She’s appearing in the new, live-action Dora the Explorer film titled Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, as Young Dora, and her change into the character is a sight to behold.

She made a big sacrifice

General Hospital star Scarlett Spears posted a video on Instagram and wrote, “Becoming Young Dora. The BIG chop. If you’re in this industry, you have to make big sacrifices!!! This is one of them.” The ‘big chop’ she was referring to was her haircut. In the post was a video of her sitting in the makeup chair getting her hair done for the part, with the overlaid text, “Becoming young Dora. The BIG chop.” The video was presented in fast motion with several people working on her hair. The end result was amazing as Spears was the spitting image of the popular cartoon character.

She ended her video with a still shot of the cute young actress and her parents smiling for the camera. Tiago Martinez, who co-stars as young Diego in the film, responded, “The perfect Young Dora! And the perfect haircut by the incredible @turrimakeup.” He was referring to Olga Turrini Bernardoni, a hairstylist and special effects makeup artist, who headed up the hair and makeup department for the film. She’s worked on several films, including 2013’s The Damned. Bernardoni lovingly commented, “My little young Dora!”

She was adorable

The post from General Hospital star Scarlett Spears answered one fan’s question, who wrote, “I had wondered why she cut her hair last year. She’s adorable!” @peacegiggleslove commented, “Adorable! I hope GH was on board with the change.” Spears’ mom, Sharline Marie Spears, responded to the fan with, “@peacegiggleslove this was shot last summer. She went on the show with short hair, and it’s grown out since then.”

You are the perfect Dora.” Overwhelmingly, the fans loved her haircut and referred to her as “adorable” and “beautiful.” And @fredarachel52 shared the loving response, “Absolutely fabulous, your new haircut is beautiful, and can’t [wait] for everyone to cheer for you while seeing your new film. MANY CONGRATULATIONS.”
