Kin Shriner to leave PC, rejoin GH

Scott Baldwin is going home -- and he won't even have to leave town to do so.

Beginning the week of March 5th, Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) will make a permanent move to General Hospital from Port Charles.

Shriner started on General Hospital in 1977. In 1983, the actor took an eleven year break before returning for a brief stint in 1994. In 1997, Shriner reprised his role, but not on General Hospital. Daytime fans were overjoyed to see the actor playing the character they'd grown to love on General Hospital's sister soap, Port Charles.

Fans of Port Charles need not fear that they will never see Scotty or Shriner again. The actor will continue to put in appearances on Port Charles, where his on-screen daughter Karen Wexler and Serena Baldwin will remain. ABC asserts that these appearances will be quite regular, but that the bulk of Shriner's screen time will be on General Hospital.

New GH executive producer Jill Farren Phelps looks upon Shriner's homecoming as "an unparalleled opportunity to mine the show's history."

Shriner says that he looks forward to working with former co-stars Genie Francis (Laura) and Anthony Geary (Luke) once again. He'll get his wish, according to ABC statements that hint that Scott will stir things up for Luke and Laura in the coming weeks.
