Greg Vaughan lands role in new pilot

Greg Vaughan has landed a featured role in a series pilot for the ABC Family channel. Vaughan appeared on General Hospital as Lucky Spencer from 2003 to 2009.

Former General Hospital star Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky Spencer) has landed a new job within the ABC family. The actor has snagged a leading role in the one-hour pilot of a new series.

The project, for the ABC Family network, is titled What Would Jane Do and follows the life of a 16-year-old girl named Jane, who juggles her life as a teenager and a demanding new job as a full-time assistant for a fashion design company. There's just one slight catch. Jane was hired because she was mistaken for an adult, and she's forced to keep her age a secret from her high-powered executive boss.

The role of Jane will be played by Erica Dasher. Vaughan, meanwhile, will play Jane's sweet, but unlucky, dad, Garret.

Vaughan isn't letting the new gig go to his head -- and that's just the way he wants it.

"The morning after celebrating a new job, I wake up still changing a poopy diaper!" Vaughan posted on Twitter. "I wouldn't have it another way!"

After nearly seven years with General Hospital, Vaughan confirmed that he'd been let go by the ABC soap in September 2009. The actor last aired on GH on October 20.
