Anthony Geary celebrates last day on GH set

Today marks Anthony Geary's final moments on set as General Hospital's Luke Spencer.

All hats are off to Anthony Geary, who today enjoyed his final moments on set as the iconic character of Port Charles's Luke Spencer.

The longtime GH actor was surrounded by the show's cast and crew for a very special sendoff, which cast mate Vanessa Antoine (Jordan Ashford) photographed and shared with fans via Instagram. "Some of my very first scenes were with #TonyGeary," she wrote. "Today #GeneralHospital says bye to 37 years of #LukeSpencer. He was so beautiful. Artist. Gentleman. Will miss him."

"Today is Tony's last tape day on GH. Sadly I won't be there for the goodbye. My day at Y&R is too complex. But I'll be there in spirit," shared Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio).

"I'm so grateful to have been one of your Carolines," Laura Wright (Carly Jacks) added.

As Soap Central previously reported, Geary chose not to renew his contract for the role he originated in 1978 and instead opted to retire, which he will do in Amsterdam.

Though today was Geary's final day on the GH set, Luke will air throughout the summer in an adventure storyline that has reunited him with former cast members Genie Francis (Laura Spencer), Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer), and Nathan Parsons (Ethan Lovett).
