GH's Lexi Ainsworth opens up about the reveal of Kristina's sexuality

General Hospital viewers finally got to hear the real story about Kristina's sexuality when the character opened up about being attracted to women last week, and now portrayer Lexi Ainsworth is adding her two cents on the timely topic.

After watching General Hospital's Kristina struggle with her sexuality for months, viewers finally got the full story when the character had a heart-to-heart with her sister Molly (Haley Pullos) during Friday's episode. Kristina admitted that though she's confused about whether or not she's gay, she feels she is bisexual and definitely has the hots for her female professor Parker (Ashley Jones). The reveal immediately got GH fans buzzing, and Kristina's portrayer, Lexi Ainsworth, joined in on the conversation.

"General Hospital has always been really great about touching on subject[s] like this, socially relevant issues, and this is a huge one," the actress says in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest. "Everyone it talking right now about sexuality being fluid, and there are many people who have come out and said that they're not just attracted to one sex: they're attracted to who they're attracted to, whether it be a man, woman, transgender. It doesn't matter; love is a universal thing."

More of the story is set to play out this week, with Kristina's dad, Sonny (Maurice Benard), and mom, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), potentially realizing their daughter is bisexual. Will the parenting pair be accepting of their little girl being into girls? Or will this reveal cause them to fly off the handle? Stay tuned to GH in the weeks ahead to find out.

What do you think about Kristina's struggles to find her sexuality? Do you think Sonny and Alexis will flip out? Or do you think they'll be understanding of their daughter's attraction toward women?
