Fans can look forward to a second season of the Reese Witherspoon-produced true crime series Truth Be Told, but will Billy Miller (ex-Drew Cain/Jason Morgan, General Hospital; ex-Billy Abbott, The Young and the Restless) be returning alongside Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul?

Apple TV Plus has renewed its true crime series Truth Be Told, which means a second season of the tense drama that stars Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul is headed viewers' way. But will fans also be seeing Billy Miller (ex-Drew Cain/Jason Morgan, General Hospital; ex-Billy Abbott, The Young and the Restless), who had a recurring role in the first season of the Reese Witherspoon-produced series?

According to Variety, Spencer will step back into the shoes of her Truth Be Told character, Poppy Parnell, a podcaster who was compelled to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation, and in doing so, came face-to-face with the man (Paul) she might have mistakenly helped to put behind bars.

As Soap Central previously reported, season one of the series featured Miller in the role of Alex Dunn, whose wife was haunted by the death of her father at the hands of serial killer Warren Cave (Paul). However, the second season of the series will focus on a new case, and it's unclear at this time if stars like Aaron Paul, Elizabeth Perkins, Lizzie Caplan, Michael Beach, and Billy Miller will be returning.

Though the full season two cast of Truth Be Told remains a mystery, Spencer -- who is also an executive producer on the series -- is thrilled to be bringing the drama back for a second season. "I cannot wait to work with the talented Nichelle [Tramble Spellman, showrunner and executive producer], as well as our partners at Apple, Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment Endeavor Content, and the entire Truth Be Told family to continue expanding these characters and this world," she says. "There is so much more to explore and we are truly excited to begin creating new episodes, storylines, and characters."

Reese Witherspoon adds, "I'm thrilled to be making another season of Truth Be Told with Apple, our incredibly creative group of producers, and the infinitely talented Octavia Spencer. I can't wait to see how Poppy Parnell's next chapter unfolds."

Billy Miller has a long history in soap operas, starting with the role of All My Children's Richie Novak, which he played from 2007 to 2008. He followed up that role with a stint as The Young and the Restless' Billy Abbott from 2008 to 2014 and the roles of General Hospital's Jason Morgan and Drew Cain from 2014 to 2019. His non-soap credits include Ringer, Ray Donovan, and Suits.

Keep checking back to Soap Central for updates about Billy Miller's status with Truth Be Told as they come.
