Ricky Martin has come a long way since playing the role of General Hospital singer/bartender Miguel Morez. Since departing Port Charles in the mid-90s, he's gone on to become one of the best-selling Latin musical artists of all time with hits like Livin' La Vida Loca and Shake Your Bon-Bon. He's also gone on to marry artist Jwan Yosef, become a father to four children, and buy his first family home.
In a video interview with Architectural Digest, Martin explains that after being on the road for several years, he and Yosef were ready to settle down, and they chose a hillside spot in Los Angeles to hang their hats. They had three days to find a place and visited 26 homes in that time -- and when they saw this one, "we fell in love immediately."
Some of the cool stuff that the couple shows off in the video include the first dining room table that Martin bought 25 years ago (probably with his GH money, as that is about the time he was on the ABC soap), a bent tree that their kids love to climb, a "having breakfast, watching porn" sign, a blanket knitted by a fan that they keep on their bed (really!), and their large master bathroom that Yosef says is "basically the size of a London flat."
However, the most beloved room in their house is -- as Martin explains -- the kitchen. "It doesn't matter how beautiful your formal living room is or your family room, we all end up here at the end of the day, cooking, talking, gossiping, all that good stuff," he shares.
