Nancy Lee Grahn is celebrating her 25th anniversary at General Hospital this year, and the ABC soap opera has a stand-alone Alexis episode coming up to help mark the occasion.

"Alexis: Play me a special General Hospital episode that marks Nancy Lee Grahn's 25th anniversary at the ABC soap opera."

Okay, so the technical term is "Alexa," but not on Thursday, April 8, because that's when GH is making things about Alexis! The long-running drama series is set to air a special episode in which fans get an in-depth hour of material dedicated to the Port Charles lawyer, who plans to take responsibility for her recent bad behavior by entering a guilty plea and accepting prison time at Pentonville. (Editor's Note: the original airdate for the Alexis episode was Wednesday, April 7, but it was pushed back a day due to a preemption.)

The upcoming standalone episode will focus on Alexis contemplating how she got to such a low point in her life, and rumor has it the show has filmed some flashback scenes that will illuminate moments from the character's childhood that brought her to this point. Will delving into her history help Alexis figure out how to prevent such terrible things from happening again? Fans will have to tune in to GH on Thursday, April 8, to find out!

Nancy Lee Grahn made her debut as General Hospital's headstrong lawyer Alexis in September of 1996 and immediately had her hands full with big Port Charles legal cases. Alexis first defended Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) for stalking Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner), and the legal eagle then defended Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) when Dr. Pierce Dorman (Tuc Watkins) filed a sexual harassment suit against Monica, alleging that she had forced him to have sex with her in exchange for his continued employment at General Hospital.

Grahn has been nominated for eight Daytime Emmy awards for her work as Alexis and took home the win in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category in 2012. That marked her second Daytime Emmy win, as she won in the Supporting Actress category in 1989 for her work as Santa Barbara's Julia Wainwright (she tied with All My Children's Debbi Morgan [Angie Hubbard]).

In addition to her long-running GH role and her memorable role on Santa Barbara, Grahn's credits include 7th Heaven, Melrose Place, Murder One, Models Inc., and One Life to Live (where she played secretary Beverly Wilkes).

What do you think about GH airing a special Alexis episode? How do you feel about Alexis deciding to step up and take responsibility for her actions?
