Fan favorite General Hospital actress Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) is pretty upset about one of her recent COVID-19 tests, but not because it was positive. The actress shares that she received a false positive test that, due to Los Angeles Public Health rules, has forced her to take a break from the ABC soap opera.
The actress opened up about the unfortunate circumstances on social media, sharing that she was getting ready to return as Britt after having had the previous two weeks off. She had put in a lot of effort on her scripts and was excited to get back to her character, but the false positive test means that she is unable to return to the role for at least the next ten days.
"First test was negative. Second test was positive/abnormal," she wrote. "I got the first round of vax, haven't traveled or been around someone sick, no symptoms. Third and fourth test negative... but due to @lapublichealth rules, I can't work for 10 days. I'm still pissed about it. Ha"
Hey @lapublichealth @ericgarcetti y'all might want to revisit how your handling false positive Covid tests! Pretty Fe'd up that if some1 gets a false positive they can't redo a test and instead have to follow protocols as if they are positive. i .e. Can't work...

Though upset about the frustrating turn of events, Thiebaud is doing her part to keep everyone at the show safe and is staying away until she can be cleared to return. But does her unexpected absence mean that the soap opera will have to temporarily recast the role of Britt?
As GH viewers know, the character is in the middle of some pretty interesting stuff at the moment, such as privately dealing with a shaky hand that might be Huntington's disease and helping Maxie (Kirsten Storms) with an elaborate plot to keep her baby away from Peter (Wes Ramsey).
Fortunately, Thiebaud assures fans that GH has not had to find somebody else to play Britt while she takes the mandatory time off. "Thankfully they are not replacing me," she reports. "We are pushing all of my scenes... I'll be back!"
