There's no doubt that General Hospital is laying the foundations for Rebecca Budig to return as Hayden Barnes, and that was made all the more evident on last Friday's episode of the ABC soap opera, when the character's mother, Naomi Dreyfus, unexpectedly decided to move to Port Charles. If that's not a crystal-clear indication that Hayden is on her way back, we don't know what is!
However, the episode included something that wasn't as crystal clear: Naomi was inexplicably rocking a brand-new face! Fans who tuned in were surprised to see that rather than former portrayer Robin Riker wearing the character's shoes, Naomi is now being played by actress Gigi Bermingham.
Even though it was Bermingham's first appearance on GH, soaps fans might have recognized her from her previous soap role, Days of our Lives' Dr. Lois Banks. The actress appeared on the NBC drama back in 2005 and 2006 in an unforgettable storyline in which her psycho alter ego tried offing the iconic Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Some of Bermingham's other credits include Jane the Virgin, Adam Ruins Everything, Kittens in a Cage, The Britishes, and Mistresses.
General Hospital hasn't confirmed that it plans to bring Hayden back to the canvas, but all signs are pointing to Budig's eventual return. All My Children fans are especially keen to see the actress -- who famously played feisty Pine Valley resident Greenlee Smythe -- get her booty back to Port Charles ASAP, because her former TV lover, Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery), will be making his GH debut on Monday, August 16.
