Ghost and G.I. Jane actress Demi Moore takes fans on a lot of adventures with the photos on her Instagram page, from Paris to art galleries to major Hollywood red carpet events. But this week, she took fans all the way back to 1980s Port Charles by posting some throwback photos from her time on General Hospital.
Before she made it big as a member of the Brat Pack and for her roles in films like St. Elmo's Fire and Indecent Proposal, Moore played the role of investigative reporter Jackie Templeton on the ABC soap opera. She starred on the series from 1982 to 1984, along with Full House star John Stamos, who played the role of rebel rocker Blackie Parrish.
Moore's Instagram post includes three rows of negative photos showing fans behind-the-scenes footage of her and Stamos goofing around at GH.
"Wow, negatives from 40 years ago filming General Hospital," the actress enthuses with a thank you to Stamos and photographer Jim Warren for unearthing the special moments.
In a chat with Interview magazine earlier this year, Moore admitted that she'd had no idea how to be an actress when she joined the cast of GH.
"I was fully faking it 'till I made it. I had no clue what I was doing," she revealed, adding that her neighbor inspired her to pursue acting. "I met a young actress who I thought was the most incredible creature I had ever met. Her name is Nastassja Kinski. She spoke English well, but she didn't read it well, and we both lived in an apartment building in West Hollywood with our single mothers. She was so self-possessed, so comfortable in her own skin. I was like, 'I don't know what you have, but I want it.' She was pursuing acting and I thought, 'What do I have to lose?' And so off I went to figure out how to f***ing make it work. But the soap opera was not where I wanted to be. It was just a starting-off point."
Moore previously revealed that she used her first paychecks from GH to pay for parties and cocaine -- habits that she brought with her to her subsequent Hollywood film roles. She was eventually treated for drug and alcohol addiction, a journey she details in her 2019 memoir Inside Out.
